Mitch Stanley took two wickets in three balls to leave Kent reeling at seven down and 221 ahead but this eighth wicket is worth 64 in 10 overs and the lead is 285 at the lunch break.

They took lunch 10 minutes early at the County Ground because of rain and should therefore be resuming the game about now.

He's put on 50 with Matt Quinn for the eight wicket too as the Kent lead passes 275.

Somerset's Tom Kohler-Cadmore says it has been "really special" to be able to raise awareness of cleft lips and palates after his son was born with the condition last month.

Kohler-Cadmore and his wife Melissa Avison found out their son, Dougie, had a cleft lip and palate at their 20-week pregnancy scan.

Since Dougie's birth in early August, the top-order batter has had a sticker for UK national charity CLAPA - the Cleft Lip and Palate Association - on his bat during The Hundred where he was playing for Welsh Fire and now in the T20 Blast and County Championship for Somerset.

"To be able to do that and put it on the national stage has been really special," Kohler-Cadmore told BBC Points West.

Matt Quinn doesn't fancy trying to defend a slender lead on the final afternoon and has whacked four fours to move to 19* from 10 balls to swell Kent's advantage to 249.

Ekansh Singh has 41* at the other end, from a mere 109 balls, and has hit fewer boundaries than the big seamer.

Given the Red Rose' attacking talent, and 64 overs remaining in the day, Kent will want to eat up overs and get that lead past 300 to avoid the prospect of a defeat which looked an outside possibility yesterday afternoon.
