Birmingham Phoenix captain Ellyse Perry speaking on BBC Two: "I guess it was a little bit tough today. I think we probably let up a few too many runs in the field, particularly in the powerplay. They batted really well as well, so you have to appreciate that. I thought we put up a pretty valiant chase and it was nice that we hung in there at the end.

"We did all get starts and it looked like a really nice batting wicket. I was really impressed with how Georgia Voll hit the ball up front and Emma Lamb has been in great form, but we just needed another one of us in the top four to get an imposing score to be in the hunt.

"We just let them out of the box way too quickly in the powerplay. It was tough to watch but you also have to appreciate how well they played."

Oval Invincibles captain Lauren Winfield-Hill speaking on BBC Two: "I'm really pleased. I think we have been close but with no cigar, especially in the last game. It was a really good performance. If we hadn't leaked a few runs at the end there, it would've been an even bigger margin so I'm really pleased. It was a great bounce back and we showed a lot of character.

"We didn't tweak too much. The only thing was obviously us opening with Sophia Smale. I was trying to get the period that Marizanne Kapp was involved in to go longer than the first 10 balls because I think teams are assessing her as the threat, so we tweaked that a bit.

"Apart from that, we haven't changed too much in our play. It has more been about showing a bit more desire and discipline, to be honest."

It looked like Birmingham Phoenix were a bit confused, but that can happen so quickly in this format. When the ball went around the park in the powerplay, I thought that was when they needed to take the strategic timeout.

They needed to take some time out and have a rethink, but I actually think they panicked a little bit. When your opponent is going around the park, sometimes the best thing to do is keep it simple.

Alice Capsey came in and really kicked off where Meg Lanning and Lauren Winfield-Hill started at the top.

It was good to see her in the runs and I'm sure she will take great confidence from that.

Oval Invincibles were set up beautifully by their batters. They were aggressive from ball one, after realising that this is a really good surface to bat on, and they got off to an absolute flyer in the powerplay.

They just kept coming, even after losing their two set batters.

Alice Capsey played a lot of brilliant reverse sweeps and sweeps, she showed a lot of strength and power to get them up to a brilliant total. She was their little pocket rocket.

It was way too much for Birmingham Phoenix.

Nothing wrong with that piece of fielding!

Phoebe Franklin just waited with reverse hands, a very much Aussie-style of catching, with her fingers pointing up towards the sky.

Well-deserved for Ryana Macdonald-Gay. I think she has bowled brilliantly. She has bowled some tough balls and come on at tough times, so I think she deserved that wicket.

There is still time to get a couple more, but I think Oval Invincibles know this game is done. It's a matter of giving the least amount of runs away as possible now.

  12. Phoenix 141-5published at 5 balls left

Em Arlott out of the dug-out at seven.

She strikes her second ball out to the cover ropes, but it's recovered well by Jo Gardner and the batters can only take two.

There'll be no late big-hitting from Amy Jones!

Ryana MacDonald-Gay's ball dips in a touch and Jones smacks it to Meg Lanning at cover.

  14. Phoenix 138-4published at 9 balls left

Four byes now as Ryana Macdonald-Gay's first delivery beats everyone and runs away to the boundary.

That's a killer as a bowler - Amanda-Jade Wellington bowled a decent over and poor fielding sees her five deliveries go for two boundaries.

That is really difficult to take. It is no fault of the bowler, it is purely down to poor fielding.

  16. Phoenix 134-4published at 10 balls left

    41 runs needed

    Misfields!

Oval Invincibles have plenty of runs to play with but they don't need to gift Birmingham Phoenix a couple of boundaries.

An Amy Jones pull to mid-wicket is spilled on the ropes, then Ailsa Lister's shot to long-on breaks through the fielder there and just makes the ropes.

Brilliant shot from Amy Jones in Tash Farrant's set. That reverse sweep has been played well throughout this game. It has been executed brilliantly by both teams.

What's impressed me more than anything is that both teams have been able to play the shot in the air, which takes a lot of skill. There's a lot of players that can play it down but getting it up in the air is a much harder skill - and that has been done brilliantly today.

Consecutive fours for Ailsa Lister - she edges Sophia Smale past third and then wallops the spinner through mid-wicket.

Smale is finished with figures of 0-38.

It is great to see Tash Farrant bowling at her best. The best thing has been the variation she has brought into her game since her injuries.

She used to be a really niche swing bowler but obviously her body hasn't been able to withstand the load. She has been really crafty with her off cutters and her back of the hand variations, that is what has stood out for me.

It is great to see her out there again.
