India have made a conscious effort to run the first one really hard. If there is any fumble from England on the field, they are ready for that second.

  2. Ind 123-3published at 14 overs

Linsey Smith now, her first over went for 14 while England were going well.

She gets the treatment from her first delivery, as Amanjot cuts through backward point again for four.

India take runs off every other delivery of the over - there's not been a dot ball since the first delivery after drinks.

Amanjot Kaur is now joining in the attack. And it's three boundaries off Sophie Ecclestone's over.

  4. Ind 113-3published at 13 overs

And one more boundary from the over, as Amanjot times a nice cut through backward point.

A further single takes her to 32 from 23, while this partnership is now worth 82.

    15 off that over too.

  5. Ind 106-3published at 12.2 overs

And now Amanjot gets in on the action, hitting Sophie Ecclestone for consecutive boundaries at the start of the over.

The India batter drives past point to bring up India's hundred and then drops into a sweep for a second four.

  6. Ind 98-3published at 12 overs

    Another of those dinks!

Jemimah Rodrigues whips another ball high over her shoulder for four and then, after Filer is called for a marginal wide on height, adds a further boundary with a shot through third.

18 off that over, and 34 since the half way point.

Moving around the crease has often been a great attacking option for Rodrigues against pace bowling.

When she backs away to give herself room, she strikes at 179.

Stepping across to the offside to open up the legside results in a strike rate of 203 across her career.

It's a really good innings from Jemimah Rodrigues. Her strike rate has really improved over the last couple of years.

She started a little bit slowly today but got into her gear and has enjoyed the pace on the ball from Em Arlott and Lauren Filer.

  9. 50 runs

50 for Jemimah Rodriguespublished at 11.4 overs

    Ind 89-3

And there's the half-century for Jemimah Rodrigues!

The India batter dinks Lauren Filer's ball behind the keeper for four, then races back for two after striking into the covers, bringing back her 50 from 33 deliveries.

Jemimah Rodrigues is using the crease beautifully, stepping to the leg side then off side to put off Em Arlott, who is under a bit of pressure here.

  11. Ind 80-3published at 11 overs

Two fours to end the over!

Rodrigues follows her six by lifting the ball over long-off and then sweeping Arlott's final delivery through backward square.

16 off the over, and Rodrigues is on 45 having scored 15 of them.

  12. 6 runs

    Ind 72-3published at 10.4 overs

Some acceleration after the drinks break?

Amanjot chips Em Arlott towards mid-wicket but doesn't quite get hold of it and India's batters run a single as Charlie Dean returns the ball.

Rodrigues, who was struck on the helmet by a bouncer two balls prior, shows her team-mate how its done, heaving the next delivery over the mid-wicket ropes for the game's first six.

Meanwhile here's how Lauren Bell leapt like a salmon (but with good catching hands) to dismiss Smriti Mandhana.

England will be very happy with the first half of their bowling innings. I was surprised when Nat Sciver-Brunt decided to bowl first on a traditionally slower wicket in Bristol.

And India have got a lot to do here. They need to push their run-rate up to get a decent score on the board here.

Here's how WinViz rates England's chances right now.

It's looking fairly promising for Nat Sciver-Brunt's side.

Lauren Filer got England off to a great start with a vicious bouncer to dismiss Shafali Verma.

The seamer used the short ball to great effect in her first two overs with nine of her 14 deliveries short of a good length. Will we see more of the same from her later in the innings?

  17. drinks break

    Ind 64-3published at 10 overs

    Rodrigues 30, Amanjot 14

A change of ends for Sophie Ecclestone, and her second over, like her first, goes for only three singles.

Her final ball turns sharply and Amanjot gets nowhere near it while attempting the sweep.

The players will take drinks at the halfway stage.

It feels on this pitch, holding your length is the best option with that occasional short ball that England bowlers have used very nicely today.

When you stray a little bit fuller, it comes onto the bat and Jemimah Rodrigues has made sure, if she gets anything fuller, it's going back over the bowler's head.

  19. Ind 61-3published at 9 overs

Em Arlott returns after one over of Sophie Ecclestone, and Rodrigues cracks her fifth delivery down the ground for four.

Singles off every other ball of the over, with Rodrigues now well set on 28 from 22 deliveries.

  20. Ind 52-3published at 8 overs

It's an expensive start for Linsey Smith.

Amanjot sends the spinner's first ball through third, and Laurens Bell and Filer do good teamwork on the boundary to restrict India to three.

Rodrigues chips the next delivery over Nat Sciver-Brunt at a short extra cover for four before Amanjot also reaches the boundary with a shot over mid-off, bringing up India's 50 from 46 balls.

Two singles to close the over - 14 off it.
