The plan to bowl Alice Capsey against Smriti Mandhana during powerplay is a smart one. But she has bowled short and wide so far.

  2. Ind 11-0published at 1 over

Four more for Mandhana, lashing a wide-ish delivery past point, and the India opener takes a single to mid-on to retain the strike.

Mandhana and Shafali Verma are now the highest-scoring opening partnership in T20 internationals with 2724 runs from 79 matches.

Smriti Mandhana gets off the mark straight away, steps across her stumps and punches Capsey's first delivery through the covers for four.

112 on Saturday, she'll fancy another big score today.

Seamer Lauren Bell opened the bowling for England at Trent Bridge, but the home side are going to go for the spin of Alice Capsey to start today.

Smriti Mandhana, in her 150th T20 international, will face the first ball.

It's a risky one [that Nat Sciver-Brunt has decided to bowl first again].

It could work brilliantly if Smriti Mandhana gets out early. But if she bats through like she did last time, it's a favourable match-up for her [facing two left-arm spinners]. Off spin is one area England could target her.

That's where you think whether Charlie Dean could have come in.

It's tough on Harleen Deol. She batted really beautifully in the first game. But it probably shows how strong India are. Their captain Harmanpreet Kaur is coming back in and she has to sit out.

India put England under real pressure and it has set the series up perfectly. In the past, if India lose the first game of a series, they can fall by the wayside. It will be interesting to see how it goes today.

  8. Line-upspublished at 18:23 British Summer Time 1 July

England: Sophia Dunkley, Danni Wyatt-Hodge, Nat Sciver-Brunt (c), Tammy Beaumont, Amy Jones (wk), Alice Capsey, Em Arlott, Sophie Ecclestone, Lauren Filer, Linsey Smith, Lauren Bell

India: Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Amanjot Kaur, Richa Ghosh (wk), Deepti Sharma, Radha Yadav, Arundhati Reddy, Sneh Rana, Shree Charani

With Harmanpreet returning, Harleen Deol misses out in the only change to the India line-up. As I said below, England are unchanged.

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur: "It was a great game for us, but today is another day but hopefully we can carry the momentum.

"Our spin has always been our strength and the way they took responsibility was special to see.

"We were looking to bat so let's see how it goes."

  10. Postpublished at 18:20 British Summer Time 1 July

England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt: "We are going to bowl again. It's an evening game. There is a little bit of turn on the pitch and a bit of bounce as well. But typically at Bristol, the wicket looks worse than it actually is. Excited to get going.

"We have reviewed. Everyone is clear on our plan and what to execute today. We have prepared really well for this game."

  11. England win the toss and bowlpublished at 18:18 British Summer Time 1 July

Nat Sciver-Brunt flings the coin in the air and then has to back away rapidly to allow it to land cleanly.

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur, back in the side today after missing the first match of the series, calls incorrectly and Sciver-Brunt announces England will have a bowl.

An unchanged team, an unchanged decision at the toss... a different result for England?

    They will certainly hope so.

'Brilliant innings' - Mandhana makes superb century off 51 balls

Yes, after enjoying a six-game unbeaten start to the Charlotte Edwards-Nat Sciver-Brunt era with a clean sweep against the West Indies, England's new regime were brought back to earth with a record defeat against India at Trent Bridge.

Smriti Mandhana scored a superb 112 from 62 balls as India recorded 210-5, before bowling the home side out for 113 in the 15th over.

The 97-run margin of defeat was England's heaviest loss in T20s - can they come back such a crushing result at today's second T20 in Bristol?
