  1. wicket

WICKET Dal LBW b Roland-Jones 2published at 13:46 British Summer Time 26 June

    Middlesex v Derbys 75-6 - target 397

Gone! Toby Roland-Jones strikes with his second ball of the session.

Anuj Dal is back to a seaming delivery and struck on the back pad in front of middle and leg.

Great ball, moving back up the slope and Dal goes for two single figure scores in the match.

    Alex Thomson is in next.

  2. Postpublished at 13:45 British Summer Time 26 June

    Middlesex v Derbys 75-5 - target 397

An easy first run of the session for Matt Lamb, tucking Ethan Bamber into the leg side.

Another leg side single - this time for Anuj Dal.

There are two slips in for Bamber and the keeper is standing up.

A big LBW shout is turned down against Lamb. A bit high and leg side?

Plenty of movement down the Lord's slope there.

Toby Roland-Jones will continue from the Pavilion End.

  3. Result in balance at Hovepublished at 13:44 British Summer Time 26 June

    Leics 375-7 - target 464

Even though the focus has been on the breathtaking batting of Louis Kimber, the wider context at Hove is that the result of this game is now in the balance.

Division Two leaders Sussex must have been anticipating a fairly sedate stroll to a fourth win of the season.

But thanks to Kimber's 191 not out off 92 balls, Leicestershire are now 89 runs away from what would be their first victory of the campaign - having drawn their seven previous games.

What can we expect this afternoon? Absolutely no idea.

  4. new ball

New ball on resumption at Trent Bridgepublished at 13:44 British Summer Time 26 June

    Nottinghamshire 360 & 293-1 v Somerset 470

Craig Overton was saving the new ball for Jake Ball back against his old employees.

Jack Leach is loosening up but will he be allowed the new cherry?

    Stay tuned to find out.

  5. Do the Bears have a Louis Kimber in their ranks?published at 13:43 British Summer Time 26 June

    Warwks 254 & 116-5 v Hants 298 & 453-6 declared

Back out on the south coast, now this is heading for a Hampshire victory, but never say never after what transpired at Hove before lunch.

Jacob Bethell and Sam Hain do not have the biffing reputation of Louis Kimber, but, well, let us wait and see!

  6. Play resumes at Lord'spublished at 13:41 British Summer Time 26 June

    Middlesex v Derbys 71-5 - target 397

    How long will this last?

Middlesex really ripped through that Derbyshire top order after the dismissal of Brooke Guest, LBW to Bamber for 26.

Matt Lamb (two not out) and Anuj Dal (one not out) will try to take the visitors deep into the afternoon.

    69 overs remain.

Lamb will face the first ball of the session, bowled by Ethan Bamber.

Just to put the Leicestershire batter's amazing innings into some sort of context....

The 27-year-old was born in Scunthorpe and made his first-class debut against Loughborough MCCU in March 2019.

Before this game, his best first-class score was 104 and he had only made two centuries for the first team, the other coming in 50-over cricket.

But he scored 141 off 120 balls as an opener in a second XI fixture against Notts earlier this month.

His 16 sixes so far against Sussex equals the number hit by Andrew Symonds for Gloucestershire in 1995, and is one fewer than Ben Stokes' 17 for Durham against Worcestershire two years ago.

The most sixes in any first-class innings is 26 by Tanmay Agarwal in India's Ranji Trophy in January.

  8. Anderson to play at Southport?published at 13:24 British Summer Time 26 June

    James AndersonImage source, Rex Features

Lancashire head coach Dale Benkenstein has flagged up the prospect of England's record wicket-taker James Anderson being in the side for Sunday's game against Nottinghamshire.

Anderson - who will play his final Test against West Indies next month - travelled down to Canterbury with the squad for this week's game with Kent, but was not included in the team.

"It will be Nathan Lyon’s last game (for us) and it’ll be great to give him a good send off," said Benkenstein last night.

“Also Jimmy Anderson will be ready to play, so to see the two of them going together will be fantastic for the crowd and the spectators.

“To watch two of the greats playing on a club ground. There are not many sports where you get that.”

  9. 'Exhilarating batting' by Kimberpublished at 13:18 British Summer Time 26 June

Without question the most amazing session cricket I have ever witnessed.

Leicestershire have added 236 from 29 overs led by Louis Kimber, who has literally smashed the Sussex attack out the ground.

Sixteen sixes, and 18 fours off just 92 balls, and the ball hit out of the ground on half a dozen occasions, Kimber has shared a stand of 200 with Ben Cox in 20 overs, of which the latter has scored 24.

Kimber has ridden his luck, but make no mistake it has been exhilarating batting.

Almost unbelievably Leicestershire need just 89 to secure one of the most incredible County Championship wins of all time

  10. 'Pitch to blame for stalemate'published at 13:16 British Summer Time 26 June

    Notts 360 & 293-1 v Somerset 470

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

A hot and fruitless morning for Somerset's bowlers and fielders as Ben Slater and Ollie Stone took their second wicket partnership on to 121, Slater reaching his first century of the season in the process.

A pitch which hasn't just died but has gone to heaven is almost entirely to blame for what is effectively a cricketing stalemate.

The combination of vastly improved drainage and the heavy roller has a lot to answer for.

With their lead now up to 183, a Notts declaration to set Somerset a target is still a possibility, but only, I fear, a remote one.

  11. Procter and McManus frustrate Glamorganpublished at 13:14 British Summer Time 26 June

    Glamorgan 490 v Northants 279 & 358-4 - lunch

    Andrew Radd
    BBC Radio Northampton

Northamptonshire's admittedly modest expectations going into the final day's play at Sophia Gardens have been exceeded courtesy of Luke Procter and Lewis McManus.

The captain and vice-captain - who came together yesterday evening with the scores level - batted right through the morning session to reach 358-4, a lead of 147.

Glamorgan managed to lift their over-rate by sending down 15 overs in the first 40 minutes' play before the second new ball was taken, but they failed to dislodge the fifth-wicket pair with McManus eclipsing his previous highest score for Northamptonshire of 62 not out.

The hosts had a golden opportunity to break the stand just before lunch but Harry Podmore spilled a straightforward-looking chance on the square leg boundary offered by McManus on 77.

  12. 'Laborious watch' at Chelmsfordpublished at 13:12 British Summer Time 26 June

    Essex 339 & 83-2 v Durham 587 & 184-8 dec - lunch

    Glenn Speller
    BBC Essex sport

Essex will be satisfied with that although Durham and the paying public might not be quite so happy.

Just 55 runs have been added in what has been a laborious watch.

Callum Parkinson has wheeled away unchanged from the Sir Alastair Cook end with no reward and only Potts has looked threatening.

Further investigation will be required during the interval as to why the umpires stopped play to then have a long conversation with Ben Raine and the Durham skipper, Scott Borthwick.

All that came after there was a loud shout just as Raine was on his approach to delivering the ball. We have also had a prolonged bout of slow handclapping from some of the Durham fielders.

Toby Roland-Jones bowls a full length delivery to Anuj Dal who defends into the off side.

    Maiden over.

The clock underneath Old Father Time has just ticked over to 1pm as the umpires were getting into position and we're off for lunch.

Ryan Higgins struck early for the hosts with the wicket of Luis Reece before a Derbyshire slide from 58-1 to 70-5 within five overs.

Three wickets to Ethan Bamber, who lunches on 3-28.

The other wicket was taken by Henry Brookes with a delivery that cut back very sharply into David Lloyd while keeping low.

  15. Lunch at Cardiffpublished at 13:05 British Summer Time 26 June

    Glam 490 v Northants 279 & 358-4

What an outstanding morning for Northamptonshire.

They resumed with only six wickets to survive the final day but have ticked off a session with no loss.

Captain Luke Procter is leading the resistance, unbeaten on 93, but Lewis McManus has played breezily alongside side him and takes the interval on 94 not out.

The pair have added 147 for the fifth wicket - and that is precisely the lead the visitors now hold.

Some work for Glamorgan to do this afternoon to try and force victory. They've now gone 45 overs without success.

  16. Lunch in Southamptonpublished at 13:04 British Summer Time 26 June

    Warwks 254 & 116-5 v Hants 298 & 453-6 declared

Four wickets in the innings for Hants, Keith Barker took two, James Fuller one and Liam Dawson came to the party before the interval.

Sam Hain and Jacob Bethell have a lot of work to do to save this match this afternoon.

  17. Lunch at Chelmsfordpublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 26 June

    Essex 83-2 (Target: 433) v Durham

Essex have enjoyed a great session.

They lost nightwatchman Jamie Porter early but since then, Dean Elgar and Tom Westley have provided excellent resistance to Durham's victory bid.

Elgar takes lunch 55 not out with Westley just on 11 from 76 balls.

But survival is the name of the game at the moment and they have another 67 overs to see out.

Matty Potts with the only wicket of the session for Durham.

  18. Lunch at Hovepublished at 13:02 British Summer Time 26 June

    Sussex 442 & 296-9 dec v Leics 275 & 375-7

    What a morning.

Leicestershire have scored 236 runs in 29 overs, thanks to some quite astonishing hitting by Louis Kimber.

He came to the crease when Scott Currie was caught at short leg in the third over of play and has struck 16 sixes and 18 fours to reach 191 off 92 balls at the interval, helped by a couple of dropped catches

Ollie Robinson conceded 43 of those runs from a single over - which included three no-balls - and having been set 464 to win, Leicestershire now need only 89 more.

Sussex are unlucky with the final ball of the session from Nathan McAndrew, which Ben Cox inside edges past the stumps for four.

  19. Lunch at Trent Bridgepublished at 13:02 British Summer Time 26 June

    Nottinghamshire 360 & 293-1 v Somerset 470

Little to report in way of a result other than a draw looking likely here.

Ben Slater reached his century and Olly Stone his half-century, no wickets taken by Somerset despite bowling relatively well at times, but no sheer pace in the attack to make anything happen.

Will they rue not selecting left-armer Alfie Ogborne for a point of difference in their attack? He has taken another five-fer for the 2s against former teammate George Bartlett's Northants at Taunton Vale again.

Riley Meredith is another man on Somerset's books who could have made something out of nothing with his pace here, but primarily is being saved for use in the Blast.
