Summary

  1. Hose climbs into Clarkpublished at 12:32 British Summer Time 26 June

    Worcs 212 & 251-9 v Surrey 490

Adam Hose might as well go for it now.

A cover drive and square cut bring him fours off Jordan Clark before he pulls the paceman over backward square for six to take Worcestershire's total past 250.

He can't quite manage a Louis Kimber, but after two dot balls, Clark's final one disappears for four.

Hose is 47 not out and Worcestershire trail by just 23 now.

  2. 100 runs

100 for Ben Slaterpublished at 12:30 British Summer Time 26 June

    Nottinghamshire 360 & 259-1 v Somerset 470

He eventually gets there off Kasey Aldridge with a pull for one and immediate fist pump celebration as he jogs through, an explosion of emotion from the southpaw.

He gets the century that his opening partner and skipper Haseeb Hameed failed to.

The second century of this match, but feasibly there could have been four with Migael Pretorius joining Hameed in getting out in the 90s whilst Tom Lammonby and Olly Stone (first time around) departed in the 80s.

His ninth first-class century for Notts, fifth on this ground and 13th overall vs a red ball in the County Championship.

  3. Postpublished at 12:29 British Summer Time 26 June

    Kent 244 & 204-8 v Lancs 549-9 dec

Kent reach 200 in 76 overs via a George Garret nudge to fine leg off Nathan Lyon.

He gets four runs in the next over off Luke Wells, with another glance that bounces sharply and evades leg slip.

This might not last long. Risky shot to this field.

  4. wicket

WICKET Finch lbw Worrall 1published at 12:27 British Summer Time 26 June

    Worcs 212 & 237-9 v Surrey 490

Full length ball with a bit of inswing from Dan Worrall, Adam Finch plays all around it and is leg before.

Just like that, Surrey are one wicket away from victory.

  5. 100 runs

Nervous 90s still for Ben Slaterpublished at 12:25 British Summer Time 26 June

    Nottinghamshire 360 & 253-1 v Somerset 470

A couple of jaffas in that Umeed over, beating the edge of the set opener who really is struggling having previously been patience personified.

He frustratedly tries to make room and cut from leg-stump and then drives a full toss straight to the field, visible frustration from the former Derbyshire man.

    Maiden from part-timer Andy Umeed!

  6. wicket

WICKET Guest LBW b Bamber 26published at 12:24 British Summer Time 26 June

    Middlesex v Derbys 58-2 - target 397

Brooke Guest plays around a straightening ball from Ethan Bamber and is pinned in front of all three.

Middlesex have their second wicket of the session and Wayne Madsen is in at four for Derbyshire.

  7. Postpublished at 12:24 British Summer Time 26 June

    Middlesex v Derbys 54-1 - target 397

Brooke Guest takes Derbyshire to 50 in the 18th over with a confident drive down the ground off Ethan Bamber and gets four more driven through cover.

  8. Postpublished at 12:21 British Summer Time 26 June

    Nottinghamshire 360 & 253-1 v Somerset 470

Bad fielding by Tom Banton at mid off, supported by a superb back-up chase from the athletic Tom Lammonby first turns a dot into a one but then his teammate saves a second respectively.

Ben Slater gets to face Kasey Aldridge now 96* but a long hop is only pulled to long leg for one, he keeps the strike now 97*...

  9. wicket

WICKET Allison b Clark 7published at 12:21 British Summer Time 26 June

    Worcs 212 & 237-8 v Surrey 490

    Oh dear.

Ben Allison shoulders arms to a ball from Jordan Clark, which cuts back off the pitch and cleans him up.

Adam Finch comes the crease, still nursing a leg injury, and Worcestershire still need 41 to make Surrey bat again.

  10. wicket

WICKET Parkinson LBW b Wells 7published at 12:20 British Summer Time 26 June

    Kent 244 & 198-8 v Lancs 549-9 dec

He's out. That drop earlier only cost a couple of runs.

Matt Parkinson is forward, playing around a well-flighted ball from Luke Wells and struck in front of off stump.

That's an easy decision for the umpire and now George Garret will bat.

Over to you, Scott Read at BBC Lancashire:

"He wasn't able to make the most of the dropped chance."

  11. 50 runs

50 for Charlie Stobopublished at 12:19 British Summer Time 26 June

    Kent 244 & 197-7 v Lancs 549-9 dec

And one over after the Matt Parkinson reprieve, Charlie Stobo completes a 129-ball 50 with a drive down the ground for his fifth four, facing Luke Wells.

  12. Postpublished at 12:19 British Summer Time 26 June

    Warwks 254 & 88-3 v Hants 298 & 453-6 declared

Big appeal from Pakistan seamer Muhammad Abbas but it looks to be going down the leg-side, not a lot going for that.

Left-handed Dan Mousley is 30* rebuilding whilst Sam Hain settles in.

A brilliant stop in the covers saves four later in the same over.

  13. dropped catch

Parkinson dropped on fivepublished at 12:18 British Summer Time 26 June

    Kent 244 & 193-7 v Lancs 549-9 dec

Matt Parkinson gets a life on five as he is back to Nathan Lyon with a swivel pull to square leg, where Tom Bailey spills the chance.

That could be one for the memory, depending on how long Kent can keep Lancashire in the field.

  14. Postpublished at 12:16 British Summer Time 26 June

    Nottinghamshire 360 & 251-1 v Somerset 470

Aha, not Banton nor TKC but an early bowl for Andy Umeed with still six overs until the next new ball.

I doubt he will ever have bowled as early as after 69 minutes of a Championship day, but the situation has set this up.

Just four off it, including a filthy full toss that Olly Stone slapped along the ground to mid on.

  15. 100 runs

100 for Louis Kimberpublished at 12:15 British Summer Time 26 June
    Breaking

    Leics 268-7 - target 464

    Un-be-lievable scenes at Hove.

Louis Kimber reaches a century off 62 balls in the middle of an over which costs England's Ollie Robinson 43 RUNS!!!!

That is a new county record, we believe, exceeding the 38 Surrey's Dan Lawrence took off Shoaib Bashir the other day.

There were two sixes and six fours in that over - three of them from no-balls, plus a single.

"A bit bonkers" says BBC Sussex's Adrian Harms. Indeed.

  16. Postpublished at 12:13 British Summer Time 26 June

    Kent 244 & 190-7 v Lancs 549-9 dec

In truth, there's not much in the surface for the Lancashire spinners, who will probably need to draw out an error to break through the Kent tail today.

Charlie Stobo moves on to 47, pushing Luke Wells through mid on going back.

The second ball is speared down leg and brings four byes.

  17. drinks break

Drinks breakpublished at 12:12 British Summer Time 26 June

    Nottinghamshire 360 & 247-1 v Somerset 470

Ben Slater is now 95* but in no hurry.

75 this partnership as Somerset can not rid pesky nightwatcher Olly Stone from the crease, he has well over 100 runs in the match now.

How soon before we see the likes of Tom Banton or even Tom Kohler-Cadmore given the ball to save the seamers for Warwickshire at home on Sunday?

  18. Postpublished at 12:09 British Summer Time 26 June

    Middlesex v Derbys 43-1 - target 397

A rare moment of Derbyshire aggression as David Lloyd gets back to back fours off the bowling of Ethan Bamber.

The first is punched through cover on the front foot and the second is glanced round the corner as Bamber drifts into the pads.

Are they going for this? Let's see where we are at lunch.

Still 80 overs left so you never know...

  19. Postpublished at 12:06 British Summer Time 26 June

    Kent 244 & 182-7 v Lancs 549-9 dec

Matt Parkinson is settling in nicely here as he again gets forward to Nathan Lyon to sweep square for a single.

He is across to Luke Wells, defending into the off side.

He nearly pops a catch up to forward short leg later in the over though, but the ball doesn't quite carry.

    Maiden over.

  20. wicket

WICKET: Briggs c Brown b Barker 26published at 12:05 British Summer Time 26 June

    Warwks 254 & 84-3 v Hants 298 & 453-6 declared

    What was that?!

Out of nowhere Danny Briggs plays a ridiculous swish at a non-event, wide ball from former Bear Keith Barker. Really rash cricket.

Eighth victim of the match for him and he is still chuckling in amazement at the fortune of that latest one.

Sam Hain comes to the middle, a little out of form by his great standards.
