Summary

  1. Postpublished at 14:11 British Summer Time 26 June

    Leics 410-7 - target 464

That's 18 sixes now for Louis Kimber as he launches a fairly ordinary Danny Lamb delivery over backward square.

He takes a single to keep the strike and is 214 not out from 105 balls.

    Leicestershire need 54 to win.

    Warwks 254 & 144-6 v Hants 298 & 453-6 declared

Michael Burgess (17*) I remember scoring a pair of 180s just a couple of years ago, the man can bat, no mug at number eight, one place lower because of Danny Briggs the nightwatcher remember.

If he made that a 180 trio, Warwickshire would still be short, pending how many Sam Hain and co got alongside him.

Keith Barker has 'keeper Ben Brown stood up to the 46-over-old ball currently.

  3. Postpublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 26 June

    Middlesex v Derbys 102-6 - target 397

Four runs for Alex Thomson, forward and clipping Ethan Bamber convincingly through mid on.

Derbyshire pass the 100-mark in this over (the 34th) via a Bamber no ball for overstepping.

  4. 400 up for Leicestershirepublished at 14:08 British Summer Time 26 June

    Leics 403-7 - target 464

Two balls on from his double century and Louis Kimber flips Ollie Robinson through square leg for four as the Leicestershire total for four. Just 61 more needed

  5. Postpublished at 14:08 British Summer Time 26 June

    Nottinghamshire 360 & 308-1 v Somerset 470

A change of left boot for Jake Ball is the cause for another delay at Trent Bridge.

All eyes probably at Hove on Kimber-watch, it would not surprise me if Ben Debenham whipped his phone out and started sharing the Sussex livestream with those around him.

  6. 100 up for Essexpublished at 14:07 British Summer Time 26 June

    Essex 102-2 (Target: 433) v Durham

Essex at the barricades once more after lunch with another 61 overs to see out.

They limp into three figures but runs, at the moment, are not the aim of the game.

Dean Elgar is 67 and Tom Westley's masterful drop anchor sees him 16 not out from 98 balls.

Durham have to find something here in the heat.

  7. Postpublished at 14:07 British Summer Time 26 June

    Middlesex v Derbys 94-6 - target 397

Close! Alex Thomson swishes at a ball well away from his body and the ball flies just past a diving gully for four.

He leaves the next ball alone and has a play and miss at the fourth trying to defend.

A subsequent thick edge rolls the ball to point for one.

Torturous viewing for any Derbyshire fan.

But that's a fine shot from Matt Lamb, staying in the crease to a bumper, pulling in front of square for four.

  8. 200 runs

200 for Louis Kimberpublished at 14:03 British Summer Time 26 June

    Leics 399-7 - target 464

How will he get there? You guessed it - a huge six over long-on off Ollie Robinson.

It has taken Kimber exactly 100 balls and we are told that it is fastest ever double century in the Championship and second quickest of all time.

He's made the headlines - can he get Leicestershire over the line for what would be a very unlikely win.

  9. Postpublished at 14:02 British Summer Time 26 June

    Middlesex v Derbys 85-6 - target 397

This is the 11th over off the reel for Ethan Bamber (either side of lunch) and he retains a probing line and length.

Alex Thomson tries to flick the third ball leg side and gets a leg bye.

The next scoring shot is more convincing, as Matt Lamb gets forward and drives with a neat flourish of the bat through cover for four.

WICKET: Procter lbw van der Gugten 98published at 14:00 British Summer Time 26 June

    Glam 490 v Northants 279 & 372-5

But Luke Procter falls two shy of his own hundred!

Tim van der Gugten is full and straight and Proccy plays all around it to be plumb lbw.

But a fine innings in 248 balls that has given his side a chance to save the game.

Glamorgan finally have a breakthrough on day four.

The lead is 161 - the exact number of that superb fifth wicket stand.

  11. 100 for Lewis McManuspublished at 14:00 British Summer Time 26 June

    Glam 490 v Northants 279 & 372-4

Lewis McManus is the first to his hundred for Northamptonshire after lunch.

149 balls, 12 fours and two sixes.

His first century of the season and just a second first-class ton after his 132 for Hampshire against Surrey way back in 2016.

  12. Postpublished at 13:59 British Summer Time 26 June

    Leics 390-7 - target 464

Danny Lamb tries a slower ball, Louis Kimber carves it away for four.

He goes for another powerful hit next ball, but Oli Carter fields on the boundary and it's only one.

    Kimber is 197 not out.

  13. Postpublished at 13:58 British Summer Time 26 June

    Middlesex v Derbys 80-6 - target 397

Toby Roland-Jones bowls full to Alex Thomson, who digs the ball out safely into the off side for one.

The third ball is banged in short and Matt Lamb ducks.

Lamb gets into a tangle trying to pull another short one but is late on the shot and the ball is picked up on the bounce by Jack Davies.

  14. 300 runs

300 for Nottspublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 26 June

    Nottinghamshire 360 & 300-1 v Somerset 470

All over bar the shaking, hand shaking that is, but I will continue to keep you updated from Trent Bridge.

    Jack Leach appeared to be joking with Olly Stone before commencing his 35th over;

    'Bit flat ain't it!'

'Too right, how else do you think I have managed to score this many!'

Is my guess at the kind of discourse between the England teammates.

  15. Postpublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 26 June

    Leics 384-7 - target 464

It's all gone a bit quiet at Hove - but maybe that's because Louis Kimber has only faced three balls in three overs since the resumption.

He is 192 not out and Ben Cox has 29. Leicestershire need another 80 to win.

  16. Postpublished at 13:54 British Summer Time 26 June

    Middlesex v Derbys 79-6 - target 397

Matt Lamb pushes Ethan Bamber into the off side for one and Alex Thomson leaves outside his off peg.

The third ball keeps lower than Thomson expected as he digs it out into the covers.

Thomson is late playing the fourth into the leg side and this really feels like it could be a short-lived innings.

Lots of movement back into the off stump as well.

  17. Postpublished at 13:50 British Summer Time 26 June

    Middlesex v Derbys 77-6 - target 397

That was nearly a first-baller for Alex Thomson, who doesn't get forward to Toby Roland-Jones and survives an LBW shout.

    A bit too leg side.

Two runs and a wicket in that eventful over.

  18. Postpublished at 13:50 British Summer Time 26 June

    Leics 378-7 - target 464

Danny Lamb wasn't asked to bowl by Sussex this morning.

    He's probably pleased about that.

It's his turn now, though, and fortunately Louis Kimber isn't on strike at the start of the over.

A single for Cox and he and Kimber have equalled Leicestershire's eight-wicket record stand of 203 between Harry Swindells and Ed Barnes at Taunton in 2021.

  19. wicket

WICKET: Bethell b Abbott 9published at 13:48 British Summer Time 26 June

    Warwks 254 & 123-6 v Hants 298 & 453-6 declared

Jacob Bethell can feel hard done by here, that is fairly unplayable out of nowhere on this previously placid pitch with even bounce.

This almost rolls from Kyle Abbott from around the wicket.

Is probably hitting leg stump, but it is the height of the ball, that is most devastating, creeping under the southpaw's bat.

They struck in the first over this morning, now in the second over after lunch, four more for Hants to wrap up the win.

Leicestershire would have been rank outsiders here. It's been a magnificent display by Louis Kimber.
