Summary

  1. wicket

WICKET Waite lbw Abbott 13published at 11:15 British Summer Time 26 June

    Worcs 212 & 218-6 v Surrey 490

In the fourth over of play, Sean Abbott has the breakthrough for Surrey.

Matthew Waite is the man to go, playing slightly across the line to a ball of almost yorker length, and Worcestershire need another 60 to avoid an innings defeat as Tom Taylor comes out to join Adam Hose.

  2. wicket

WICKET Swanepoel c Blatherwick b Bailey 26published at 11:15 British Summer Time 26 June

    Kent 244 & 152-7 v Lancs 549-9 dec

Lancashire strike early. Is it too early to say start the car?

Beyers Swanepoel is drawn into an expansive drive wide of the stumps off Tom Bailey and slaps the ball to Jack Blatherwick at backward point.

Matt Parkinson is in at nine for the hosts.

  3. Postpublished at 11:14 British Summer Time 26 June

    Middlesex v Derbys 7-0 - target 397

An excellent maiden over from Ryan Higgins, who beats the bat of Luis Reece and finds an edge which doesn't carry.

At the other end Toby Roland-Jones is driven through mid on and surprisingly through Ryan Higgins for four runs.

  4. Postpublished at 11:13 British Summer Time 26 June

    Nottinghamshire 360 & 182-1 v Somerset 470

To no surprise, Jack Leach opens up with Overton, he is all set for a long stint here until the innings is over, or dare I say it hands are shaken at 4.50 if Notts have wickets still intact by then.

Five off his first, Slater taking a boundary off the last ball after Olly Stone gave him the strike to ensure the nightwatcher has a one ball, one run 100 strike-rate to start the day.

Finally, Yorkshire have a win on the board. It lifted them from seventh to third in the Division Two table and was achieved without some key players, including Joe Root and seam bowler Ben Coad.

  6. Postpublished at 11:12 British Summer Time 26 June

    Kent 244 & 152-6 v Lancs 549-9 dec

Tom Bailey is bowling round the wicket to Beyers Swanepoel, who picks up his second four of the day with a back foot slap through wide mid off.

That shot takes Kent to 150 in the 55th over.

The wicket is playing well. But scoreboard pressure is certainly on.

  7. Postpublished at 11:10 British Summer Time 26 June

    Middlesex v Derbys 3-0 - target 397

Derbyshire captain David Lloyd picks up a couple of runs off the fist ball of the Ryan Higgins over but he'll be a bit concerned about a ball that keeps very low outside his off stump.

That was a tad back of a length, barely getting to knee height.

There's plenty of lift and movement into the bat from the first over from Toby-Roland Jones, however, who gets Lloyd squared up on the crease with a play and miss.

  8. Postpublished at 11:08 British Summer Time 26 June

    Nottinghamshire 360 & 177-1 v Somerset 470

Eventually they got underway just four minutes late in the East Midlands.

Craig Overton to Ben Slater who is 70*.

Maiden over to start from the stand-in skipper.

  9. wicket

WICKET Currie c Carter b Coles 1published at 11:07 British Summer Time 26 June

    Leics 143-6 - target 464

Early success for Leicestershire as Oli Crater grabs a bat-pad chance at short leg to send Scott Currie on his way.

It's James Coles' second wicket - and Sussex need four more for victory.

  10. Postpublished at 11:07 British Summer Time 26 June

    Worcs 212 & 214-5 v Surrey 490

Sean Abbott is striving for a full length.

Matthew Waite chops one into the covers for two runs and then adds two more as he turns the ball past the fielder at mid-wicket.

  11. Postpublished at 11:05 British Summer Time 26 June

    Kent 244 & 147-6 v Lancs 549-9 dec

Will Williams tests Beyers Swanepoel out with a bouncer but even with a dodgy hamstring, he's able to sway out of the way without obvious discomfort.

There's nothing wrong with his first scoring shot of the day either - standing in the crease and gently pushing the last ball of the over through cover on the back foot for four.

  12. Underway & wicket already: Rhodes b Barker 6published at 11:04 British Summer Time 26 June

    Warwks 254 & 40-2 v Hants 298 & 453-6 declared

A weird twist of the bat from Will Rhodes, it does nip back from former Bear Keith Barker, but no straight bat played to it from the experienced left-hander.

Just six off 34 balls, a nightmare start for the away side.

First over breakthrough and Hampshire are really up and about after that one.

  13. Postpublished at 11:03 British Summer Time 26 June

    Leics 143-5 - target 464

BBC Sussex's Adrian Harms brings us news that spinner Jack Carson has been awarded his county cap before play. How big a say will he have in the outcome of this game?

James Coles bowls the first over at Hove and Wiaan Mulder puts him away for four when he drops his final delivery too short.

  14. Postpublished at 11:02 British Summer Time 26 June

    Nottinghamshire 360 & 177-1 v Somerset 470

Slight delay for no apparent reason at Trent Bridge, players not starting walking out to the middle until 11.02, but should be underway shortly...

  15. Play resumes at Lord'spublished at 11:02 British Summer Time 26 June

    Middlesex v Derbys 0-0 - target 397

Middlesex captain Toby Roland-Jones will take to the field with a spring in his step this morning after his 5-81 was the bedrock of a Derbyshire first innings decline from 327-5 to 339.

He'll also be happy with a bright Middlesex second innings, racking up 302 inside 80 overs to set up a demanding chase.

If the visiting team manage this hefty target, it will be their highest ever successful fourth innings chase, eclipsing their 371-9 at Derby against the touring Australians in 1997, facing an attack comprised of Jason Gillespie, Brendon Julian and Shane Warne.

Their objective may be survival rather than glory, however.

Derbyshire captain David Lloyd will begin the chase with opening partner Luis Reece.

Ryan Higgins will bowl the first over of the day to Lloyd.

  16. Day Four begins at Canterburypublished at 11:01 British Summer Time 26 June

    Kent 244 & 143-6 v Lancs 549-9 dec

It's difficult to see anything other than a resounding Lancashire win here after mini collapses in both Kent innings and a yawning deficit.

Charlie Stobo (25 not out) and Beyers Swanepoel (17) did however show a bit of defiance last night in a stand worth 32 runs in 10.4 overs.

Swanepoel will be batting with a runner as he also did yesterday due to a hamstring injury.

Swanepoel will face the first ball of the day, bowled by Kiwi fast bowler Will Williams.

Surrey's players were sweltering in the June sunshine as they warmed up in the Worcester sunshine this morning. But the clever money is that all the sweat and toil will be worth it.

Most locals expert this to be all over by lunchtime.

Champions Surrey have only five wickets to take for their fifth win of the season - and hand the Pears their third defeat in eight games.

The hosts still need a further 71 runs to make Surrey bat again - and, after Adam Hose and Matthew Waite, they only have Tom Taylor, Ben Allison, Adam Finch, who got 27 not out yesterday despite a leg injury, left to come, as well as as last man Shoaib Bashir.
