    There's that yorker again.

It's the type of delivery that has you flinching in your seats.

I can't see why I'd ever have to face Jasprit Bumrah but if I do I'd have to ask him not to bowl that one. I like my toes just the way they are, thanks.

After all of that, Rishabh Pant is going to continue. He has five balls left in this over.

England are building a nice platform, would be great to see a more considered first innings from the Bazballers and keep India in the field for a very long time.

The delay is becoming a lengthy one.

Normally you'd say this is a significant problem for India but they have KL Rahul in the team as a specialist batter. He could keep very easily and you wouldn't notice a thing.

  5. Eng 93-2published at 33.1 overs

Rishabh Pant leaps away like Jordan Pickford in an attempt to prevent byes down the leg side. A fingertip keeps the extras down to two but Pant seems to be struggling.

The physio is coming on to have a look at the India wicketkeeper's digits.

This combination of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, they're doing well here and they look dangerous.

  7. Eng 91-2published at 33 overs

Mohammed Siraj is bowling very well here but as he marches back to deep fine leg he'll be wishing for reward for his efforts in this heat.

That was a couple of out swingers then a proper inswinging yorker. Luckily, Ollie Pope got his bat to it.

  9. Eng 90-2published at 32 overs

    Pope 27, Root 25

    Ooooft!

After 28 dot balls in a row, Ollie Pope gets a run but it was very nearly the end of him. Jasprit Bumrah fires in one of those vicious yorkers - just like the one he used to dismiss Pope last year - but the England batter gets his bat down on it.

There have already been nine maidens from the Indian seamers in the first 31 overs of this innings.

  11. Eng 89-2published at 31.4 overs

    Almost!

There are groans all around Lord's as Ollie Pope chases a wide one and is very lucky not to get an edge.

  12. Eng 89-2published at 31 overs

Make that three maidens in a row. If the theory is to be believed, a wicket is coming in the next over.

Has someone hidden Bazball behind one of the posh cushions in the pavilion?

I remember when Test cricket used to be all gung-ho, guns blazing 5/6 an over.

  14. Eng 89-2published at 30 overs

    Jasprit Bumrah is a menace.

With things looking flat he manages to beat the edge and hit Ollie Pope's pad in consecutive balls.

    Back-to-back maidens. Pressure building.

It's a fierce battle on a hot day. Both teams are having an arm wrestle out there.

  16. Eng 89-2published at 29 overs

Joe Root looks blissfully unaware as Mohammed Siraj hurls the ball at his stumps. England's former skipper was looking the other way.

    It's a maiden.

  17. Eng 89-2published at 28 overs

We're into that period where the ball went soft at Edgbaston and did very little. There doesn't look to be a lot there for Jasprit Bumrah here. He bangs in a bouncer, perhaps through frustration.

  18. Eng 88-2published at 27 overs

    Pope 16, Root 24

At least a third of the crowd are still milling around behind the stands. There are a lot of empty seats, despite this being a sell-out.

Is it going to spin at the end of the game?

It didn't turn a great deal at Edgbaston. In this English summer that we've had, if its not going to spin now, when is it going to spin?

  20. Eng 83-2published at 25 overs

Here's a confidence booster for Ollie Pope, who flicks Bumrah up the hill and to the boundary. He leaves the last ball of the over and all of the slip fielders gasp. They thought it was going to clatter into timber but Pope has worked out his angles well for that one.
