  1. 100 runs

100 partnershippublished at 17:23 British Summer Time 23 July

    Gloucestershire 120-1 v Lancashire 557

Jimmy Anderson brings himself back on to try and break this second-wicket stand, and he is close to trapping Joe Phillips in front.

But the batter gets enough on it for the ball to squirt away for a single and he and Ben Charlesworth run through for a single.

That is now 100 runs they have put on.

Make that SIX wickets for Rehan Ahmed.

Zak Chappell misses and Ahmed hits.

He has 6-45 and the last six wickets to fall have all been to the England all-rounder.

  3. Postpublished at 17:20 British Summer Time 23 July

    Hants 25-0 v Notts 578-8d

It's been tight enough and accurate enough from the Notts bowlers but there is absolutely nothing happening for them.

There is the scoreboard pressure on Hampshire but they are handling things well so far.

Fletcha Middleton doubles his score to eight not out with a lovely flowing shot to the boundary.

  4. 50 runs

50 for Jai Smithpublished at 17:18 British Summer Time 23 July

    Warwickshire 167-8 v Worcestershire 333

Young wicketkeeper Kai Smith is offering some welcome resistance for Warwickshire.

Ben Allison drops short and Smith hooks him over the short boundary, sorry very short boundary, into the Hollies Stand for six.

It's his third first-class 50 and it has come off 88 balls as he tries to haul his side past the follow-on target of 184.

  5. wicket

Five wickets for Rehan Ahmedpublished at 17:15 British Summer Time 23 July

    Reece b Ahmed 2 (Derbys 175-6 v Leics 398)

A century and five wickets - not a bad couple of days for Rehan Ahmed.

He spins one through Luis Reece and Derbyshire are rocking and rolling against the Division Two leaders.

  6. wicket

    Donald c Handscomb b Ahmed 31 (Derbys 175-5 v Leics 398)

A fourth wicket for Rehan Ahmed.

Aneurin Donald has been very positive in getting to 31 but he snicks one behind to Peter Handscomb and Leicestershire are taking control.

  7. 'An accurate start from both seamers'published at 17:08 British Summer Time 23 July

    Hants 17-0 v Notts 578-8d

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

It's been an accurate start from both seamers, there's no doubt about that.

Trying to find just a bit of movement to something and making the batters play

  8. 'The runs have dried up'published at 17:06 British Summer Time 23 July

    Warwickshire 157-8 v Worcestershire 333

    Phil Britt
    BBC Radio WM

It's more like survival at the moment, the runs have all dried up.

Warwickshire are in all sorts of trouble here.

  9. 100 runs

100 up for Gloucestershirepublished at 17:06 British Summer Time 23 July

    Gloucestershire 100-1 v Lancashire 557

Tom Hartley turns one past everything of Ben Charlesworth and past the gloves of wicketkeeper Phil Salt and down to the ropes for four leg byes.

The total moves into three figures as Gloucestershire progress rather serenely in the grounds of Cheltenham College.

  10. Pitch inspection at Hovepublished at 17:03 British Summer Time 23 July

    Sussex 204 v Essex 451-7

The covers are starting to be removed at Hove and there's lots of movement among the ground staff.

We will have a pitch inspection at 17:30 BST.

Fingers crossed for no further rain.

  11. Postpublished at 17:01 British Summer Time 23 July

    Hants 15-0 v Notts 578-8d

Former Hampshire seamer Mo Abbas is bowling for Notts on his former ground.

There have been no alarms so far for the home batsmen and the visitors are finding out how hard it's going to be to take wickets.

We still have 28 overs remaining in the day.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:56 British Summer Time 23 July

    Bamber lbw b Shahzad 0 (Warwickshire 152-8 v Worcestershire 333)

Ethan Bamber comes and goes very quickly and Khurram Shahzad has his sixth victim.

It's on the money from Shahzad, it keeps a bit low and Bamber is absolutely dead - plumb in front.

    Worcestershire right on top.

  13. 'Rocchiccioli never controlled pull shot'published at 16:55 British Summer Time 23 July

    Warwickshire 151-7 v Worcestershire 333

    Phil Britt
    BBC Radio WM

Corey Rocchiccioli has gone playing a pull shot which he never controlled.

It was a short ball, he got under it and swept and it was Bertie Foreman who got the catch who is having a good game. He didn't have to move.

Well done to Khurram Shahzad who gets his fifth wicket.

  14. Close of play at Scarboroughpublished at 16:48 British Summer Time 23 July

    Yorkshire 376-5 v Surrey

The day is ending early in Scarborough with the rain showing little sign of going away.

Only 24.1 overs possible on day two and now almost 82 overs lost across the first two days.

Jonny Bairstow scored an entertaining 72 in the cricket we did have today, but the chances of a win for either side must be diminishing rapidly.

  15. Five-wicket haul for Khurram Shahzadpublished at 16:46 British Summer Time 23 July

    Rocchiccioli c Foreman b Shahzad 18 (Warwickshire 151-7 v Worcestershire 333)

And right on cue, Khurram Shahzad does have his fifth wicket!

He entices Corey Rocchiccioli to take on a short ball and the Aussie can't help himself.

But it's the very long boundary legside and he knows he's got nowhere near enough on it as he hits and that is an easy catch in the deep for Bertie Foreman at deep square

Shahzad has 5-39, a very fine return on his Pears red-ball debut.

  16. 150 runs

    Derbys 151-4 v Leics 398

Rehan Ahmed takes the wicket of Wayne MadsenImage source, Rex Features

Brooke Guest and Aneurin Donald are trying to repair the damage done by Rehan Ahmed with those three wickets for only 11 runs.

Leicestershire still very much on top.

  17. Postpublished at 16:43 British Summer Time 23 July

    Warwickshire 150-6 v Worcestershire 333

Kai Smith and Corey Rocchiccioli have resumed their Warwickshire recovery act.

Worcestershire's Pakistan bowler Khurram Shahzad is hunting a fifth wicket on his Pears Championship bow.

  18. Still raining at Hovepublished at 16:40 British Summer Time 23 July

    Sussex 204 v Essex 451-7

A rainy scene at HoveImage source, Rex Features

The covers are still firmly battened down at Hove and we haven't had any play since the tea interval.

The stands are empty while spectators take shelter and it doesn't look too hopeful at the moment.

  19. 50 runs

50 for Ben Charlesworthpublished at 16:40 British Summer Time 23 July

    Gloucestershire 78-1 v Lancashire 557

Nine fours and now a first six of the innings off Tom Hartley takes Ben Charlesworth to 51 off 53 balls.

Only a second half-century of the summer in the Championship for the left-hander, but it's a good start in chasing Lancashire's huge total.

  20. 50 runs

50 partnershippublished at 16:36 British Summer Time 23 July

    Gloucestershire 70-1 v Lancashire 557

Excellent shot from Ben Charlesworth as he dances down the track and plonks Tom Hartley down the ground for four.

It's his ninth of the innings, moves him to 44 and the partnership between him and Joe Phillips gets to 50.
