    Glam 296-8 v Kent 155

It's taken a lot of plugging away by the Kent bowlers but they have seen rewards for their labour at last.

Colin Ingram (87) and Ben Kellaway (90) moved the Glamorgan score from 78-4 to 250-5 but the afternoon session has been kinder to Kent and in particular Matt Parkinson who has three wickets.

    Glamorgan's lead is approaching 150.

    Drissell c&b Leach 5 (Somerset 250 v Durham 145 & 178-9)

    Number six for Jack Leach.

George Drissell has the ominous sight of wicketkeeper and four close catchers around as he faces Jack Leach and he is turned around by a ball that pitches around leg-stump.

Trying to work it into the onside, he gets a leading edge and it's an easy return catch for Leach.

  4. 50 runs

50 for Joe Cracknellpublished at 14:34 British Summer Time 23 July

    Middlesex 523-5 v Northants

Another Middlesex batter marks off a milestone as Joe Cracknell reaches 50.

In fact, only two of their batters - Ryan Higgins (35) and Ben Geddes (0) - have failed to record a 50 or 100 so far.

It's been hard work for Northants.

  5. Postpublished at 14:34 British Summer Time 23 July

    Derbys 39-1 v Leics 398

Derbyshire have started well after lunch following the dismissal of David Lloyd just before the break.

There is still a long way to go though if they're to put pressure on the Division Two leaders.

  6. 500 up for Lancashirepublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 23 July

    Gloucestershire v Lancashire 505-8

Four more through the covers for Chris Green takes this record partnership past 200 and with the total now over 500.

This is a record score for Green and for Tom Hartley, who has 85 and is 15 shy of a maiden first-class ton.

  7. 'A huge relief for Sussex'published at 14:27 British Summer Time 23 July

    Sussex 204 v Essex 353-5

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

What an interesting dismissal that was because James Coles crucially parried it to his left and not down. So it was still going up and that allowed Tom Alsop to get across and hang on to it.

That was a real team effort. We see relay work on the boundary but that was relay work in the slip cordon.

A huge relief from a Sussex point of view.

A tremendous innings from Jordan Cox.

  8. 6 runs

Postpublished at 14:25 British Summer Time 23 July

    Hants v Notts 429-7

Brett Hutton joins the party and batters James Fuller over the boundary on the full for six.

This was not the Hampshire plan when they won the toss yesterday.

  9. 150 runs

150 for Chris Greenpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time 23 July

    Gloucestershire v Lancashire 490-8

It's a maiden 150 for Chris Green as he hits an eighth six of the innings - again off compatriot Todd Murphy to reach this latest landmark.

He has batted for 185 balls and it's only taken 29 to go from 100 to 150 as Lancashire begin to accelerate.

Club and individual milestones are tumbling for the Red Rose at the moment.

  10. 350 up for Essexpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time 23 July

    Sussex 204 v Essex 352-5

Unperturbed by the dismissal of Jordan Cox, Matt Critchley continues on his merry way and dumps Fynn Hudson-Prentice over the rope for six.

Up comes the Essex 350 and the lead is 148 runs.

  11. Leach takes five wicketspublished at 14:24 British Summer Time 23 July

    Somerset 250 v Durham 145 & 170-8 - lead by 65

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Graham Clark has just become Jack Leach's fifth victim of the Durham second innings, caught behind when on 32.

It's Leach's 25th five for for Somerset and the 33rd of his First Class career. I think it is his fourth against Durham as well.

But it all means this game still appears to be heading for a two-day finish. The lead is only small, but at what point will Somerset start to worry, on this track? Would anything above 100 be a challenge?

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 23 July

    Bairstow c Jacks b Kishore 72 (Yorkshire 364-5 v Surrey)

Mark Church said Sai Kishore v Jonny Bairstow was an interesting battle, and the India spinner ultimately wins it.

He beats Bairstow with another excellently flighted delivery, so Bairstow decides to take matters into his own hands and advance down the wicket.

But he is beaten in the flight and only sends it skywards where Will Jacks running back from mid-on takes a good catch.

Still no Championship ton as Yorkshire skipper for Jonny.

  13. 'Green puts Lancashire into commanding position'published at 14:22 British Summer Time 23 July

    Gloucestershire v Lancashire 484-8

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

A professional career which started over a decade ago, Chris Green has now scored three centuries, all three of them achieved in the previous 12 months and all of them for Lancashire.

His debut ton came in the One Day Cup last season against Hampshire, and now he’s scored back-to-back first-class centuries for the Red Rose. This is also a record ninth-wicket partnership in all first-class games for Lancashire dating back to 1907.

He’s quickly becoming one of the clubs most successful overseas imports of recent seasons. A playing career dominated by T20 cricket - 250 games he’s played in that format - compared to just 22 first-class games.

His innings and partnership with Tom Hartley has put Lancashire into a commanding position.

This is a record ninth-wicket partnership in all first class games for Lancashire dating back to 1907.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 23 July

    Cox c Alsop b Sandhu 132 (Sussex 204 v Essex 345-5)

Jordan Cox is finally out but Sussex almost made a mess of it.

The Essex centurion swipes at one outside off stump from Gurinder Sandhu and gets a big edge - James Coles can't hold on at second slip and palms the ball up in the air where a back-pedalling Tom Alsop dives at full length to take the catch.

Sighs of relief all around in the home stands.

  15. 'A remarkable game'published at 14:18 British Summer Time 23 July

    Warwickshire 36-4 v Worcestershire 333

    Dave Bradley
BBC Hereford & Worcester cricket commentator

What a remarkable game this is.

The ball doesn't see to be doing anything too crazy. It was a good low catch by Adam Hose.

The game has turned on it's head.

Tradition says that Ed Barnard is going to come in and get 100 and turn the game on it's head again but he's got a lot of work to do here.

  16. 6 runs

Postpublished at 14:15 British Summer Time 23 July

    Hants v Notts 417-7

A fourth six of his innings for Lyndon James.

Catch is the cry from bowler Sonny Baker - I can only assume he has a friend or relative in the stands because that's where the ball has gone.

  17. Five-wicket haul for Jack Leachpublished at 14:15 British Summer Time 23 July

    Clark c Rew b Leach 32 (Somerset 250 v Durham 145 & 166-8)

Jack Leach celebrates taking a wicketImage source, Getty Images

It has felt inevitable all day and now Jack Leach does indeed have his fifth wicket.

It's a classic Leach dismissal as bowling round the wicket to Graham Clark, he gets it to spin away on an off-stump line and enough to get a tickle through to the wicketkeeper.

Clark had resisted gamely for 84 balls, but that has been broken.

Leach has 5-62 and Durham lead by only 61 with two wickets left.

  18. 50 runs

50 for Leus du Plooypublished at 14:15 British Summer Time 23 July

    Middlesex 500-5 v Northants

Leus du PlooyImage source, Rex Features

The runs keep on flowing for Middlesex and the skipper Leus du Plooy is getting in on the act with a half-century in 79 balls.

That's his fifth 50 of the season and has moved his team to 500 for the innings.

  19. 150 runs

150 partnershippublished at 14:12 British Summer Time 23 July

    Gloucestershire v Lancashire 452-8

The runs keep flowing for Lancashire's two spinners as Chris Green and Tom Hartley's ninth-wicket stand is now worth 150.

It is a first-class record ninth-wicket partnership for the Red Rose, dating back to 1907.

This is all very painful for the locals.

  20. 'James has played very nicely'published at 14:11 British Summer Time 23 July

    Hants v Notts 405-7

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

Lyndon James has played very nicely. Some of the drives that he's played off the front foot have been gorgeous.

    Fully deserved.
