  1. 6 runs

    Originals 31-1published at 30 balls

Samit Patel, hero of the hour with the bat for the Superchargers, comes into the attack and is immediately whalloped into the stands by Jos Buttler for a huge six! Fetch that one.

A tame powerplay from the Originals as they start this chase.

Jos Buttler did not get hold of that shot. His bat twisted in his hands as he hits the ball but on this outfield it just skips on the surface and flies away.

  5. Originals 23-1published at 25 balls

Jos Buttler misses another big swing - when he connects you will know about it though. There we go, he doesn't middle this but clips a four over mid-wicket. That lands between the ring and the fence.

  6. 'We are a little bit light on runs'published at 20:18 British Summer Time 26 August

Northern Superchargers opener Dawid Malan speaking on the player's mic on BBC Two: "We were happy that we got to that score after 50 balls. We are a little bit light but the wicket was different to what we thought."

On Samit Patel: "He was rolling back the years there! He was the only one who looked like getting the ball off the square there.

"Headingley is one of the best places to bat but this pitch is drier and is bouncing more than usual. In hindsight we should have taken our foot off the gas a little bit."

On his wicket: "Jimmy Anderson seems to get me out at every opportunity now. The more you face him, you can see it a little bit in his grip about where he is going to go. It was a bad shot from me."

  7. Originals 16-1published at 21 balls

    140 needed to win

Jos Buttler hasn't quite got going yet as he misses out on a ramp shot.

  8. Originals 16-1published at 20 ballls

Jos Buttler misses out on another booming drive. The TV guys say he's England's best-ever white-ball player - thoughts?

He drops back onto the back foot and pulls a short one but it doesn't get away. Potts is bowling nicely. Phil Salt hits a full toss sweetly but it's well saved on the fence by Jacob Duffy.

The advantage of batting first is you know which balls are the hardest to hit when it comes to bowling.

  10. Originals 13-1published at 15 balls

Jos Buttler is the new batter and is sawn in half by a beauty first up from Jacob Duffy.

  11. Postpublished at 20:12 British Summer Time 26 August

Former England fast bowler on BBC Two

You felt like something was going to give. Ben McKinney was desperate to keep the scoreboard moving and he offered a simple chance there.

Ben McKinney looks to go big but can only top the ball half-heartedly to midwicket. A simple chance as the pressure tells!

  13. Originals 13-0published at 13 balls

Ben McKinney has a dance down the pitch but misses the ball. The DJ plays some Salt-N-Pepa but not when Phil Salt is on strike - or Michael Pepper for that matter. A bad miss.

McKinney slaps a straight four but then...

Cricketers used to look like Allan Lamb.

Former England fast bowler on BBC Two

Ben McKinney feels like he must be an imposing figure to bowl at, he is so tall. He almost looks like a left-handed Zak Crawley.

  16. Originals 9-0published at 10 balls

Matthew Potts is next to take the ball in hand - David Miller is not fielding for the Superchargers by the way as the physios take a look at him. Nice work if you can get it!

McKinney middles one but it's straight to extra cover, he's got a lovely high backlift and is a huge man. Cricketers these days are enormous.

  17. Originals 6-0published at 5 balls

Jacob Duffy bowls wide down the leg side and Phil Salt can't get the ball away as there appears to be a bit of swing in the air. Salt then chops a four through the leg side, slightly unconvincing but it makes the fence and triggers some Courteeners over the PA...

Manchester Originals have such a strong top four. Ben McKinney can really strike a ball.

We will expect the pitch to continue as it did in the first innings so we should see some slower balls from the seamers.

  20. What's at stake?published at 20:00 British Summer Time 26 August

A reminder that the Originals are already eliminated from the competition but the Northern Superchargers came into tonight in the top three. Victory tonight could secure first place, if there is an unlikely swing in net run-rate.
