It could be losing the toss which has put the Superchargers off. You are prepared to bowl and then suddenly put in to bat.

But you have to do it at some point.

  2. Superchargers 56-4published at 50 balls

Excellent five from Josh Tongue to take us to the halfway stage of the innings.

He's taken 1-10 from 10 balls as part of this very impressive bowling effort from the Originals so far.

Fast bowlers' slower balls are deviating a whopping 1.6° on average so far this evening - twice as much as at any other innings at Headingley this year.

A strange innings from the Superchargers. They have been striking cleanly all tournament. It is not complacency but something just feels off today.

Perhaps the Manchester Originals bowlers just deserve the credit.

  5. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 46 balls

    Crawley c Currie b Tongue 17 (Superchargers 54-4)

No, not this time, he can't!

Zak Crawley tries to go big over long-off but, again, doesn't get the timing quite right.

The ball flies out towards the rope but straight down the throat of Scott Currie.

Another wicket for Josh Tongue as his prolific Hundred continues.

  6. Superchargers 54-3published at 45 balls

Zak Crawley is still there as we approach the halfway stage of the innings but the England man has only faced 16 balls so far.

Can he get Superchargers going again?

Harry Brook felt muddled throughout his innings. He tried about five different shots in the first set.

He never really got going in that innings.

That one will be one from the planners. Harry Brook was forced to play something but didn't get it over the fielder Phil Salt.

Good planning and execution. And good reward.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 43 balls

    Brook c Salt b Currie 20 (Superchargers 53-3)

    Flat-batted to mid-off!

The extra run from the previous ball works out well for Manchester Originals in the end.

Harry Brook back on strike, a slower ball into the pitch from Scott Currie and the batter tries to muscle it down the ground.

No timing whatsoever, though, and it just carries nicely to Phil Salt. Big wicket and the drop doesn't prove too costly.

  10. Superchargers 53-2published at 42 balls

    Frustration for Manchester Originals.

A quick single for Harry Brook, a direct hit from the fielder in the covers but Brook was home and gets a second run as the ball ricochets away into a gap.

Tom Aspinwall is the type of bowler that would benefit on a surface like this. He has the slower balls and variation, he is not just straight out pace.

  13. Superchargers 51-2published at 40 balls

    Crawley 17, Brook 18

Tom Aspinwall is into the attack for the Originals and he also starts well.

Good running from Zak Crawley and Harry Brook helps them get back for two but that makes up half of the runs in the set.

    Another boundary-less set.

Ish Sodhi has dismissed Harry Brook on three occasions in their previous meetings, in just 35 balls bowled.

  15. Superchargers 47-2published at 35 balls

First look at spin tonight as New Zealand leggie Ish Sodhi comes into the attack.

Very tidy stuff from the Kiwi, just four from his first set.

It doesn't look an easy surface to bat on at the moment. Pace off is the way to go, based on what we've seen so far.

With everything that's been going on, we didn't get a chance to publish this until now but this was Steven Finn calling it perfectly just before that dropped catch...

Harry Brook likes to give himself room outside the leg stump so Jimmy Anderson is trying to go slow and wide and hope Brook skews it up to a fielder.

Vintage Zak Crawley. He stands with minimal foot movement - such an eye-catching shot.

  18. Superchargers 43-2published at 30 balls

    Top shot.

Zak Crawley with a trademark cover drive. Smoked to the boundary. You don't need to run for those.

George Garton will have felt like he should have taken that catch. You cannot be giving a player like Harry Brook too many opportunities.

  20. dropped catch

Brook dropped on 7published at 25 balls

    Superchargers 34-2

It should be three for Jimmy Anderson - and he should have the big wicket of Harry Brook!

He bowls wide of off, making Brook stretch for it and the ball goes swirling up into the off side.

George Garton is the fielder out in the deep, it's not a simple chance but he gets there and once he gets hands his on it, he'd expect to take it.

But the ball bursts through his hands and spins away for four.

    How costly will that prove?
