    WICKET Bancroft b Roland-Jones 25published at 12:05 British Summer Time 10 September

    Middlesex 377 v Gloucs 58-2

Toby Roland-Jones nips one down the slope, beating a forward block from Cameron Bancroft to peg back the off stump.

    Miles Hammond is in next.

  2. Postpublished at 12:04 British Summer Time 10 September

    Durham 12-0 v Lancs 228

Ben McKinney gets himself and his team off the mark in the third over, thumping Anderson Phillip through mid on for four.

Alex Lees is off the mark in the next over with a late cut from the crease through backward point off Tom Bailey for four.

Four more driven through cover point.

  3. wicket

WICKET: Tattersall c Currie b Ahmed 126published at 12:03 British Summer Time 10 September

    Leics 98 v Yorks 348-9

    Ah what a shame!

Jonny Tattersall and Matt Fisher were moving very close to Yorkshire's all-time ninth-wicket record stand, jointly held by Geoff Boycott.

But Tattersall has pushed forward at Rehan Ahmed and edged to slip.

A wonderful stand of 138 - just 11 shy of the record.

And what a fine innings from the Yorkshire captain to give his side complete control of the game.

  4. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Hovepublished at 12:01 British Summer Time 10 September

    Sussex 198-3 v Glamorgan 186

Oh that is unlucky on Henry Crocombe.

As soon as the catch is held, the heavens open and the players head for cover.

  5. wicket

WICKET Crocombe c Tribe b Kellaway 54published at 11:59 British Summer Time 10 September

    Sussex 198-3 v Glamorgan 186

Henry Crocombe tries to prod into the leg side just in front of pad and only hands Asa Tribe a simple catch at short leg.

A very fine knock from the nightwatcher and a brand new personal best.

  6. wicket

WICKET Donald c Sales b Chahal 21published at 11:58 British Summer Time 10 September

    Northants 219 v Derbys 150-5

Derbyshire were rebuilding nicely from 99-4 but they've lost their fourth wicket of the session now.

Aneurin Donald is fifth out, swatting a slightly back of a length ball from Yuzvendra Chahal to James Sales at square leg.

    Martin Andersson to bat next.

  7. Postpublished at 11:58 British Summer Time 10 September

    Kent v Hampshire 308-8

Kent bizarrely took seven balls before taking the new ball.

Since then there has been plenty of movement.

Tom Prest isn't confident about the amount of seam and jabs at a ball and edges straight to the cordon at nipple height.

But wicketkeeper Harry Finch and Jack Leaning both leave it to each other and the ball wizzes to the boundary.

  8. Postpublished at 11:55 British Summer Time 10 September

    Middlesex 377 v Gloucs 53-1

Ooh! Nervous moments for Gloucestershire as Cameron Bancroft is forward to Ryan Higgins, inside edging the ball past leg stump to the fine leg rope for four.

The next scoring shot is a much better one, carving through backward point for four.

That takes Gloucestershire to the innings 50 in 9.3 overs.

    The runs are certainly flowing.

  9. Durham begin their first inningspublished at 11:52 British Summer Time 10 September

    Durham 0-0 v Lancs 228

Alex Lees and Ben McKinney are ready to open the innings and Lees will face Tom Bailey.

Early wickets are a must for Lancashire, still in search of their first bonus points in the game after missing out with the bat.

We have extended sessions of play here at the Riverside today and lunch will be taken at 12:40.

  10. 50 runs

50 for Henry Crocombepublished at 11:50 British Summer Time 10 September

    Sussex 193-2 v Glamorgan 186

A maiden first-class fifty for Henry Crocombe as a nightwatcher.

A superb innings full of lovely shots, not least the lashed drive to the boundary that gets him to the milestone.

How can he ever go back down to No.11?

  11. Postpublished at 11:49 British Summer Time 10 September

    Middlesex 377 v Gloucs 45-1

Cameron Bancroft is forward to Toby Roland-Jones, trying to guide the ball through the off side but he's been stopped by Luke Hollman.

The next ball is cut past backward point just past Hollman for four.

In the air for a while though!

He plays the last ball of the over off his hip into mid wicket for a single.

  12. wicket

WICKET Westley b Lord 122published at 11:44 British Summer Time 10 September

    Essex 297-6 v Notts

Tom Westley's fine innings is at an end.

He'll be a tad frustrated at the manner it happened, chopping on to his own wicket off Rob Lord, who has now taken 2-59.

But it was a fantastic knock from the Essex skipper whose side were in a real pickle at 86-4 at one point yesterday.

  13. Postpublished at 11:43 British Summer Time 10 September

    Kent v Hampshire 303-8

    Exceptional stuff from Tom Prest.

He's hit his fourth six in nine balls to take Hampshire to two batting points.

Straight down the ground and towards the applauding dressing room.

Only a couple of balls left before Kent can get a nice shiny new one.

  14. LANCASHIRE ALL OUT FOR 228published at 11:43 British Summer Time 10 September
    Breaking

    Durham v Lancs 228

Bas de Leede strikes with his third ball to wrap up the Lancashire first innings.

It's an ugly dismissal. Tom Bailey tries a pull shot against a slightly short ball and chops the ball into his stumps for 22.

Durham will be batting in just under 10 minutes.

  15. wicket

WICKET: Burns lbw b Vaughan 21published at 11:43 British Summer Time 10 September

    Somerset 317 v Surrey 48-2

Archie Vaughan also gets Rory Burns!

    Huge wicket.

    And Burns also falls sweeping.

Misses completely and is pinned bang in front of all three.

  16. Five-wicket haul for Rainepublished at 11:42 British Summer Time 10 September

    Lancs 226-9 v Durham

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Ben Raine's bowled really nicely in this game and now has the 14th five-wicket haul of his career.

West Indian debutant Anderson Phillip was victim number five, falling LBW for two in the 11 over of the new ball. Raine's taken 5-39 in 24 overs with nine of them maidens. That maiden count includes four wicket maidens.

Earlier there was major disappointment for 20-year-old Matthew Hurst, who agonisingly ran himself out on 90. Tom Bailey had played the ball down to third man and appeared to be happy with two runs, while his colleague clearly thought there was a third to be had.

By the time he realised the error of his ways he was too far down the track and was run out by Matty Potts, as the bowler took a throw from Bas De Leede in the deep.

It is sunny in Chester-le-Street but also very windy and there's a chill to the air as well. Because of rain yesterday, day two is scheduled for 104 overs.

  17. Postpublished at 11:42 British Summer Time 10 September

    Durham v Lancs 226-9

Lancashire number 11 Tom Aspinwall is playing an entertaining cameo here.

He gets away with an outside edge off Ben Raine, nicking the ball away to third man for four runs and gets a more convincing four against Matt Potts in the next over, pulling a short one to square leg.

Change of bowling for Durham now with Bas de Leede coming on at the Lumley End.

  18. wicket

WICKET Hughes c Carlson b Douthwaite 83published at 11:38 British Summer Time 10 September

    Sussex 188-2 v Glamorgan 186

Dan Hughes won't get back-to-back Championship hundreds.

He's chipped Dan Douthwaite straight to midwicket to end a 78-run stand with nightwatcher Henry Crocombe.

Glamorgan will desperately hope that is the start of a roll for them.

  19. 6 runs

Postpublished at 11:38 British Summer Time 10 September

    Kent v Hampshire 294-8

Tom Prest does not fancy Brad Wheal or Mo Abbas' batting against the new ball.

He is getting on with it.

That six to bring up his fifty was followed by another over cover and one straight down the ground.

Hampshire are only four runs away from another batting point.

  20. wicket

WICKET Lloyd LBW b Keogh 1published at 11:37 British Summer Time 10 September

    Northants 219 v Derbys 99-4

Rob Keogh strikes again, this time removing David Lloyd.

The Derbyshire captain has missed a sweep and has been struck on the pad plumb in front.

    Aneurin Donald is in next.
