  1. Durham move aheadpublished at 16:29 British Summer Time 10 September

    Durham 233-4 v Lancs 228

David Bedingham digs out an Anderson Phillip yorker on 96.

The third ball is wide and pushed to deep point for one.

That's the innings lead. Six wickets in hand and two batters well set.

Single to Ackermann and the over ends with a defensive bouncer wide of off stump. Oh, hold on. No ball. That took off like a rocket to be fair.

Bedingham will keep the strike with a push into the off side.

    He has 98.

  2. Postpublished at 16:24 British Summer Time 10 September

    Durham 228-4 v Lancs 228

Single to Bedingham off Hartley, pushing the ball to Venkatesh Iyer at long on. He's on 95.

Single to Ackermann in the off side and one more to Bedingham.

    Scores are level.

  3. Bad light stops play at Hovepublished at 16:23 British Summer Time 10 September

    Sussex 407-5 v Glamorgan 186

It looked like this could have happened at any minute.

The umpires have decided it is now too dark on the south coast and have taken the players off. It might be on and off for a little while.

The partnership between Tom Clark and John Simpson is up to 194.

  4. Postpublished at 16:21 British Summer Time 10 September

    Durham 225-4 v Lancs 228

Anderson Phillip is on at the Lumley End and David Bedingham tries to drive away through the off side but can't clear cover.

He gets the third ball away though, driving serenely through cover point for four to move on to 93. Wider and too full.

  5. wicket

WICKET Evison c Brown b Wheal 21published at 16:17 British Summer Time 10 September

    Kent 54-5 v Hampshire 403

It felt like it was time for another wicket.

Joey Evison had looked really good but is punished for trying to defend well away from his body.

Brad Wheal finds the edge and it was undroppable for Ben Brown with the gloves.

    Kent still 349 runs behind.

  6. Postpublished at 16:15 British Summer Time 10 September

    Sussex 400-5 v Glamorgan 186

John Simpson pulls the first ball of the over for six and then takes a single to leave two runs for Tom Clark to find.

Clark takes another single after dragging the ball into the leg side.

And that leaves Simpson to pull down to fine leg to bring up 400.

Mission accomplished with two balls to spare.

  7. 50 runs

50 for Ackermannpublished at 16:15 British Summer Time 10 September

    Durham 211-4 v Lancs 228

The runs are flowing a little too easily from a Lancashire perspective and Luke Wells loses his radar, bowling a wide outside off stump.

    Colin Ackermann is on 48...

And there it is. It's a streaky outside edge to a full ball going forward which takes it past a diving first slip to third man for four.

    Good innings overall, though.

That's his second 50 of the season with a top score of 112 made on this ground against Essex in April.

    78 balls with eight fours.

  8. Still off at Tauntonpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 10 September

    Somerset 317 v Surrey 169-3

Rain continues to fall at Taunton.

And it's difficult to see them getting back on if the forecast is to be believed.

Thankfully we've had more than two sessions worth of cricket already because spinners Jack Leach and Archie Vaughan have together sent down 53 of the 70 overs we've had.

But that could be our lot for day two.

  9. Bad light stops playpublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 10 September

    Essex 457 v Notts 37-1

Off for the umpteenth time in two days at Chelmsford.

With every stoppage, the likelihood of a draw increases. Notts will be aware of the need for batting points in their fight against the drop.

  10. 100 runs

100 for John Simpsonpublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 10 September

    Sussex 391-5 v Glamorgan 186

Five centuries in the Championship this season for John Simpson.

He opens himself up and with a thick outside edge picks up a four through third. 143 balls for that latest ton.

In the wider picture, it is now nine needed from six balls to reach 400 and another bonus points.

  11. Postpublished at 16:08 British Summer Time 10 September

    Durham 203-4 v Lancs 228

We have a slip and a forward short leg in for Luke Wells and David Bedingham is confidently forward, driving through the off side for one.

Two more runs to Colin Ackermann, pushed through cover.

A single to backward point brings up the 100 partnership for the fifth wicket in 139 balls.

Bedingham pounces on the next ball, wide of leg stump to pull behind square leg for four.

    That's the Durham 200 in 48.4 overs.

  13. Postpublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 10 September

    Sussex 368-5 v Glamorgan 186

Sussex have had a clear plan since tea...reach 400 and get a fourth batting point.

John Simpson has led the charge with five boundaries - which have ranged from guides to third and slaps to midwicket.

Three overs left of the bonus point zone, 23 runs needed. This could be fun!

  14. rain stops play

Postpublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 10 September

    Durham 190-4 v Lancs 228

Not an ideal start for Tom Hartley, who bowls leg side and is swept away fine for four.

Seven runs off the over in all.

Luke Wells is going to bowl some leggies from the Lumley End.

He's a tad wide and slapped away for a single through point.

The next ball is on a tighter line and Colin Ackermann defends.

Next up, Ackermann plays against the spin and gets a single to long leg. The partnership is worth 91.

  15. Back out at Chelmsfordpublished at 16:00 British Summer Time 10 September

    Essex 457 v Notts 35-1

Interesting approach from Notts opener Ben Slater as we resume after tea in Essex.

The visitors are a wicket down and desperate for points in their relegation battle but Slater is not shying away - he has 24 from 27 balls.

  16. Postpublished at 15:59 British Summer Time 10 September

    Kent 40-4 v Hampshire 403

The spinner Liam Dawson is also going to come on after tea.

Are Hampshire already looking at resting Mo Abbas and Kyle Abbott ahead of enforcing a follow-on?

  17. rain stops play

Raining properly now at Worcesterpublished at 15:58 British Summer Time 10 September

    Worcestershire 307, Warwickshire 112-4

It's Raining Again at WorcesterImage source, Ged Scott - BBC Sport

The rain is coming down hard at Worcester now - and they're even playing "It's Raining Men" over the New Road tannoy!

Followed by a quick burst of "Purple Rain", then Sacha Distel belting out "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head" and "It's Raining Again" by Supertramp.

Nice work from the New Road tannoy man

It's like Cliff at Wimbledon all over again.

It also looks increasingly like that might be it for the day.

  18. Evening session begins at Riversidepublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 10 September

    Durham 178-4 v Lancs 228

40 overs left in the day and pleasingly, the sun is shining!

Tom Hartley will bowl first up to David Bedingham, who is on 68.

Colin Ackermann has 40 at the other end.

  19. Play resumes at Canterburypublished at 15:54 British Summer Time 10 September

    Kent 34-4 v Hampshire 403

Ben Compton and Joey Evison won't have wanted to, but the players are back out at Canterbury.

On the back of his maiden first-class fifty, Brad Wheal is going to bowl after tea.

  20. wicket

WICKET Sales c Guest b Andersson 40published at 15:51 British Summer Time 10 September

    Northants 219 & 102-4 v Derbys 165

    Derbyshire strike early after tea.

James Sales gets Northants to 100 in the 31st over with a cut to point for four but he's barely out of the crease for the next ball as he moves forward to defend and edges to keeper Brooke Guest.

Martin Andersson has his first wicket of the innings.

Saif Zaib is in at six for the host. His first innings runs were crucial.
