  1. 1000 runs for John Simpsonpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 10 September

    Sussex 349-5 v Glamorgan 186

John Simpson joins Colin Ingram, Ryan Higgins and Alex Davies to reach four figures in the County Championship this season.

Four centuries and a further three fifties are included in that.

What a signing he's been for Sussex this season.

  2. Play back underway at Northamptonpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 10 September

    Northants 219 & 97-3 v Derbys 165

Derbyshire need a breakthrough or two.

Jack Morely will bowl first up to James Sales on 35.

    Rob Keogh has seven.

  3. Close of play at Leicesterpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 10 September

    Leics 98 & 35-2 v Yorks 379

The umpires have decided the pitch will be in no condition for play even when/if the rain stops.

Frustration for Yorkshire but the Division Two promotion chasers still have two days to collect the eight wickets they need.

The forecast suggested things may have dried up but the rain was obviously very heavy.

Yorkshire's day, having resumed 263-8 and made 379 to take a giant lead.

Jonny Tattersall with 126 and Matt Fisher a career-best 88 from number 10.

Both openers dismissed as Leicestershire fight against an innings defeat.

  4. Play resumes at Hovepublished at 15:41 British Summer Time 10 September

    Sussex 336-5 v Glamorgan 186

It is looking very dark at Hove, and with no floodlights being used in the Championship there this season, this seems unlikely to last too long this evening.

But for now, Ben Kellaway is going to twirl away to Tom Clark and John Simpson.

  6. Bad light stops play at Lord'spublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 10 September

The early tea break has not resolved the poor light issue.

As you were for this one.

  7. Tea at Riversidepublished at 15:34 British Summer Time 10 September

    Durham 178-4 v Lancs 228

Tom Hartley is back of a length but David Bedingham can't quite get the ball away through backward point.

We'll have time for one more over before tea.

Colin Ackermann pushes the ball from Tom Aspinwall to deep square for a couple and slaps the last ball through point for four.

That's tea. A good recovery for Durham after slipping to 99-4.

The innings gap is down to 50.

It is a little bit gloomy here but nothing like the gloom settling over the Kent dressing room right now!

Drawing from here due to the weather would be the most Yorkshirey thing ever; I just hope the weather is kinder to us tomorrow!

    Ben, Fareham, via WhatsApp

The forecast isn't cracking the flags for the next two days but we'd be very unlucky if there's not plenty more cricket to come at Grace Road, especially on day four.

  10. Tea at Canterburypublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 10 September

    Kent 34-4 v Hampshire 403

Hampshire celebrate a Kent wicketImage source, Rex Features

Hampshire would have wanted a couple of wickets with the new ball.

To get four scalps would have been towards the top of their dream scenario.

Kent will be happy to get off the field. They are 369 runs behind.

  11. Bad light stops playpublished at 15:30 British Summer Time 10 September

    Essex 457 v Notts 21-1

It's not a great forecast in Chelmsford this evening and the umpires have decided there's not enough light to continue playing - for now.

The players are taking tea in the hope the situation will improve in the meantime.

  12. Postpublished at 15:29 British Summer Time 10 September

    Durham 167-4 v Lancs 228

Josh Bohannon is sitting up now as the physio works on what must be a sore knee. The magic spray is coming out and Bohannon is standing.

He's leaving the field and Will Williams is on.

Long standing Lancashire fan and I think this Durham game will be the final nail in our Division 1 coffin. Understand the plan to blood youth and give them exposure but you simply cannot have the exodus of established and academy players that we have had over the last few years and expect anything different. We have been absolutely appalling this season across all formats of the game which is devastating to witness.

  14. ouch!

Bohannon injuredpublished at 15:26 British Summer Time 10 September

    Durham 167-4 v Lancs 228

Could be a lengthy delay here.

Josh Bohannon has landed awkwardly on the ball, knee first it appears at the bowler's end.

    The physio is coming on.

  15. Postpublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 10 September

    Durham 166-4 v Lancs 228

Three fours in the over for Colin Ackermann, who flicks a leg side ball from Tom Aspinwall fine, and twice carves the bowler through point.

12 off the over and Lancashire are fading.

  16. Tea at Hovepublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 10 September

    Sussex 336-5 v Glamorgan 186

Tom Clark and John Simpson have batted through the whole session for 123.

It has been fairly comfortable going for the hosts.

  17. wicket

WICKET Hameed c Benkenstein b Cook 8published at 15:22 British Summer Time 10 September

    Essex 457 v Notts 19-1

    Early strike for Essex!

Exactly what the hosts wanted. Not great for Notts skipper Haseeb Hameed who tries to cut Sam Cook away but finds Luc Benkenstein lurking between point and extra cover.

  18. wicket

WICKET Denly lbw Abbott 0published at 15:19 British Summer Time 10 September

    Kent 27-4 v Hampshire 403

    Uh oh!

Joe Denly on his first appearance in three months and only lasts two balls.

Kyle Abbott nips one into the pads, no real shot is offered and the finger goes up.

Three wickets in five balls for Abbott.

Today has been embarrassingly bad from start to now from Kent.

  19. Early tea at Lord's as light fadespublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 10 September

    Middlesex 377 v Gloucs 154-5

The umpires have taken a light meter reading and we're off early.

It's very gloomy out there at Lord's with a threat of rain from about 1700 BST.

  20. wicket

WICKET Leaning c Albert b Abbott 0published at 15:17 British Summer Time 10 September

    Kent 27-3 v Hampshire 403

Kyle Abbott is having one of his spells!

The South African's legs are pumping and angles in towards Jack Leaning's stumps.

BBC Solent commentator Kevan James questions where Leaning had to play at that delivery. The upshot is he has edged to second slip and has to depart.

    Kent are in danger here..
