Up and down the land batters have been making hay while the sun shines, perhaps aware that the forecast for Sunday is somewhat dicey.

Durham need not worry about the weather, though, as they wrapped up an innings victory over Somerset before tea on day two, with Ben Stokes taking 8-77 across two innings.

Jordan Cox smashed an imperious 207 on his first return to Kent as an Essex player and Alex Davies carried his bat for 127 for Warwickshire against former club Lancashire.

Meanwhile, Toby Albert and Nick Gubbins posted centuries as Hampshire took a commanding lead at home to Surrey and Haseeb Hameed did likewise as Notts spoiled Worcestershire's return to New Road.

Rain or shine, we'll be back here in the lead-up to 11:00 BST to bring you all the action from day three of the remaining games. Enjoy your Saturday evening.

  3. 'An intriguing day'published at 19:06 25 May

    Lancashire 66-3 v Warwickshire 284 - close

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

It's been an intriguing day. Slow at times, this morning was slow and steady, it didn't feel like it was going very far.

This afternoon burst into life a little bit. Hassan Ali was quite entertaining to watch when he came out to bat.

Alex Davies batted really well with a great deal of care and discipline.

Let's hope the weather forecasts are horribly wrong and we get some cricket tomorrow.

It's a shame for Lancashire that they've lost George Bell just before the close.

  4. Close of play at Worcesterpublished at 19:04 25 May

    Worcs 80 v Notts 234-3

Jake Libby to bowl his part-time spin for the last over of a long day for Worcestershire.

Luke Fletcher is happy to defend the first five balls before nudging a single to cap a fine day following his three wickets which put the skids under the Pears innings.

Having won the toss and skittled the hosts for 80 in an extended morning session, Notts have not looked back.

Haseeb Hameed survived a drop on 46 to make 100 and Joe Clarke was grassed on nought and closes the day looking ominous on 73 not out.

At stumps the visitors are in control, leading by 154 with seven wickets in hand.

  5. 'A brilliant innings from Hameed'published at 18:57 25 May

    Worcs 80 v Notts 232-3

    Frank Watson
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

A brilliant innings from Haseeb Hameed comes to an end.

It doesn't change the dominant position that Notts are in but it is at least a minor chink of light for Worcestershire.

  6. WICKET and Close of play at Old Traffordpublished at 18:55 25 May

    Bell c Hannon-Dolby b Lintott 40 - Lancs 66-3 v Warwicks 284

Can Lancashire get through to stumps unscathed? Well, no.

George Bell looks to sweep Jake Lintott's first ball of the day's final over and top-edges to Oliver Hannon-Dolby who uses all of his prodigious height to take the catch.

If it wasn't for the poor weather forecast, this one would be intriguingly poised.

Bears skipper Alex Davies carried his bat for a fine 127, hitting 11 fours in a 296-ball vigil, but Jacob Bethell was the only other player to pass 30 as Lancashire eventually ousted their visitors, picking up maximum bowling bonus points into the bargain.

A smothering start to the reply saw Oliver Hannon-Dalby pick up the early wickets of Luke Wells and Josh Bohannon but Keaton Jennings has stood firm to rebuild for the hosts.

  7. Close of play at Northamptonpublished at 18:55 25 May

    Northamptonshire 301 v Yorkshire 362 & 0-1

Nightwatcher Dom Leech comes out with Adam Lyth and takes strike to Ben Sanderson.

Third ball, he's gone for a duck, edging to Justin Broad at fourth slip and that is stumps.

Northants fought back well on day two and although they trail by 61, the match is now in the balance.

Luke Procter led the way for the home side with an unbeaten 116, sharing stands of 50 and 58 with Sanderson and number 11 Jack White.

  8. WICKET Hameed lbw b Waite 100published at 18:52 25 May

    Worcs 80 v Notts 232-3

Matthew Waite gets one to nip off the seam a little and pins Haseeb Hameed bang in front.

The umpire had a good look before raising his finger and the Notts' skipper fine 219-ball innings is done.

Luke Fletcher is in as nightwatchman.

  9. 100 for Haseeb Hameedpublished at 18:48 25 May

    Worcs 80 v Notts 232-2

Joe Leach runs in and Haseeb Hameed clips him away for a single to go to 99.

Joe Clarke pulls away for another single to bring Hameed back on strike.

The next ball is on his pads and he gratefully accepts the gift, stroking it to long on for the single which brings the Notts skipper a second ton of the season.

It's his FOURTH century at New Road and comes off 214 balls. Superb knock.

  10. Northants all outpublished at 18:45 25 May

    Northants 301 v Yorkshire 362

Northamptonshire's first innings comes to an end as Jack White flips a catch to Dom Leech who takes it at the second or third attempt after slipping on the outfield.

White goes for 21 and the wicket gives Sri Lankan Vishwa Fernando figures of 4-48.

Luke Procter finishes unbeaten on 116, a 201-ball knock featuring a six and 15 fours.

In theory, there is one more over to be bowled today.

  11. Postpublished at 18:44 25 May

    Worcs 80 v Notts 229-2

Haseeb Hameed drives Ben Gibbon's first ball through the onside and races back for three. He's three short of his century.

Joe Clarke cuts the next for four and a single brigs Hameed back on strike.

Hameed just gets home for a quick single to go to 98.

  12. Postpublished at 18:41 25 May

    Worcs 80 v Notts 220-2

Ben Gibbon runs in to Haseeb Hameed who guides him down to third man.

The chase around the boundary is in vain as the ball wins. He needs six for his second ton of the season.

Joe Clarke clips Joe Leach off his legs and jogs through for two.

Leach then drops short and the long hop gets what it deserves as Leach smashes it through midwicket for four. He goes to 66.

  13. Close of play at Bristolpublished at 18:38 25 May

    Glos 243-4 v Derbys 526

Graeme van Buuren and James Bracey have put on an unbroken stand of 112 for the fifth wicket from 166 balls to stave off the threat of Derbyshire on the second afternoon.

Bracey (87 not out) came in at 63-3 and lost Ben Charlesworth soon after but he and van Buuren (61*) steadied the ship to reach stumps 183 runs in arrears with six wickets still in hand.

  14. Postpublished at 18:35 25 May

    Worcs 80 v Notts 210-2

Haseeb Hameed cracks a boundary off Joe Leach's first ball and later in the over scampers three to move to 90.

Will he get to three figures tonight? He has eight overs to make it.

Lest we forget he was dropped by Ed Pollock on 46.

  15. Close of play at Leicesterpublished at 18:34 25 May

    Leicestershire 280-5 v Glamorgan 387

Four byes is the only addition in the final over of day two at Grace Road as Leicestershire reach stumps 107 behind.

After bowling out Glamorgan during the morning session - with Scott Currie taking five wickets - the Foxes were 65-3.

But Lewis Hill and Peter Handscomb steadied the ship with a stand of 141 before Hill gave away his wicket on 92 with a rash shot.

Handscomb remains on 102 not out, with Currie as his partner following debutant Ian Holland's downfall for 16, caught behind off James Harris.

  16. 'It could get messy for Worcestershire'published at 18:31 25 May

    Worcs 80 v Notts 199-2

    Frank Watson
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

There is a danger I fear that if Haseeb Hameed and Joe Clarke aren't separated it could get a bit messy for Worcestershire in this last period of the evening.

They could be on the wrong end of very serious deficit by the end of day two.

  17. Postpublished at 18:30 25 May

    Northants 295-9 v Yorkshire 262

Luke Procter is enjoying himself now.

He slashes George Hill to the left of the solitary for slip, then gives himself room to hammer the next through the covers.

That's a 50 partnership for the 10th wicket with Jack White and Procter is 110 not out.

  18. 200 up for Nottspublished at 18:28 25 May

    Worcs 80 v Notts 200-2

Brett D'Oiveira drops short and you can't do that to a set Joe Clarke.

He climbs into that and dispatches his seventh four of the innings. Worrying moments for Worcestershire as Clarke accelerates to 60.

A leg bye off Ben Gibbon brings up the 200 and takes the lead to 120.

  19. Close of play at Lord'spublished at 18:26 25 May

    Middlesex 62-1 v Sussex 554-9 dec

Middlesex survive the final 19 overs of play with only one wicket down after Sussex piled up their highest total at Lord's earlier in the day.

Sam Robson reaches stumps on 40 not out and he may well be crucial to the home side's chances of saving this game.

Former team-mate John Simpson top scored with 167 off 336 balls for Sussex, sharing a stand of 223 with Cheteshwar Pujara (129).

  20. Postpublished at 18:24 25 May

    Worcs 80 v Notts 194-2

    Shot, Joe Clarke!

Adam Finch races in and Clarke times a square drive beautifully which speeds past Jake Libby and scorches to the boundary.

Good comeback from Finch who responds with three dots before squaring up Clarke slightly who squeezes a single into the legside.

Eleven overs to play as the shadows lengthen at New Road.
