  1. Tea at Southamptonpublished at 16:00 25 May

    Hants 307-3 v Surrey 127

Ben Brown survives a few hairy moments off the bowling of Cam Steel who is finding some sharp turn.

Dan Worrall in for the last over before tea - can he make another breakthrough before tea? The answer is no, but he almost finds the outside edge of James Vince.

Another superb session for Hampshire who have added 103 runs for the loss of century-makers Toby Albert (114) and Nick Gubbins (103).

James Vince (41 not out) has played positively since Albert fell to Sean Abbott as Hampshire collected a second bonus point with the bat.

They have taken their lead to 180 with seven wickets in hand. The box seat.

  2. Tea at Lord'spublished at 15:59 25 May

    Middlesex v Sussex 507-7

Jack Carson lofts Ethan Bamber for four over mid-wicket in the final over of the afternoon session.

How many is enough for Sussex, who will presumably want to put Middlesex in before the close.

The visitors added 122 during the afternoon for the loss of three wickets, including Cheteshwar Pujara and John Simpson for 129 and 167 respectively.

Together, they put on 223 for the fifth wicket.

  3. Tea at Canterburypublished at 15:57 25 May

    Kent 48-2 v Essex 591-7dec

Essex will tuck into their refreshments with gusto. Kent will likely not.

The hosts are 543 runs adrift, having already lost two wickets, and one might suspect it's unlikely Wes Agar is able to bat due to a shoulder injury sustained on the first morning.

It's been Jordan Cox's day, of course, with 207 with the bat, sharing a record seventh-wicket stand with Shane Snater who made a career best unbeaten 82.

  4. WICKET Young b Smith 2published at 15:55 25 May

    Worcs 80 v Notts 85-2

    Nathan Smith has a second.

Will Young has not had the best of starts to his season with Nottinghamshire and his poor run continues here.

He looks to leave Nathan Smith's ball but lifts his bat too late and chops on.

Former Pears man Joe Clarke has a few awkward overs to negotiate.

  5. 'A very sobering defeat for Somerset'published at 15:54 25 May

Durham beat Somerset by an innings and six runs

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Somerset knew that this was going to be a tough game of cricket and they gave a good account of themselves today up until about 12:00.

Second time around they had no answer to the Durham seamers for whom Ben Stokes was outstanding - but they all contributed.

A very sobering defeat for Somerset who were second in the County Championship at the start of this game but I think this has put winning the thing very much in a not particularly favourable perspective.

    Well done, Durham

  6. Nottinghamshire move into the leadpublished at 15:53 25 May

    Worcs 80 v Notts 82-1

Haseeb Hameed collects his fourth boundary, this time off the bowling of Ben Gibbon, and Notts have the lead.

    Ten minutes to tea.

  7. WICKET: Bell-Drummond c Pepper b Beard 16published at 15:52 25 May

    Kent 48-2 v Essex 591-7dec

Daniel Bell-Drummond is strangled down the leg side by Aaron Beard, Michael Pepper takes a tumbling catch to his left and the Kent skipper has to go for 16 on the stroke of tea.

Marcus O'Riordan is the new batter, joining Ben Compton.

Simon Harmer will bowl the final over before the interval.

  8. Postpublished at 15:49 25 May

    Lancs v Warwickshire 261-7

Hassan Ali is absolutely box office with the bat. Pass it on.

The Pakistan international bowler followed a reverse sweep off Nathan Lyon by clubbing the next ball into the stands over long on for six.

Keaton Jennings has to go and retrieve the ball from the seats.

Ali has 26 from 18 balls and, no surprise, we're going to need a new ball after he broke this one on the concrete.

  9. WICKET Gubbins c Pope b Worrall 103published at 15:46 25 May

    Hants 303-3 v Surrey 127

    Stunning catch from Ollie Pope.

A brilliant 226-ball knock comes to an end as Nick Gibbons edges Dan Worrall to second slip. It fizzes to Pope who dives to his right to take a tough chance.

A first bowling point for Surrey with 10 balls to spare.

Ben Brown joins James Vince at the crease.

  10. WICKET Slater c Gibbon b Smith 41published at 15:46 25 May

    Worcs 80 v Notts 77-1

    Breakthrough!

Ben Slater had moved nicely to 41, but gives it away with Notts three short of parity.

Nathan Smith bangs in a short ball, Slater swivels and top edges to Ben Gibbon at long leg.

    Will Young joins Haseeb Hameed.

  11. 300 up for Hampshirepublished at 15:45 25 May

    Hants 301-2 v Surrey 127

Cam Steel errs and sends a full toss over waist height which James Vince pulls through square leg for four.

A no-ball and that takes Hampshire to a second batting point.

  12. Division Two updatepublished at 15:45 25 May

Lewis Hill and Peter Handscomb have added 85 so far for Leicestershire, who are 150-3 against Glamorgan - still 237 behind. Hill is 59 not out and Handscomb has 40.

Northants are struggling not to conceded a sizeable first-innings lead to Yorkshire - they are 157-5, with Luke Procter on 41 - after bowling out the visitors for 362.

Opener Ben Charlesworth is anchoring Gloucestershire's reply to 526 all out by Derbyshire at Bristol - he is 31 not out and they are 84-3.

  13. 250 up for Warwickshirepublished at 15:44 25 May

    Lancs v Warwickshire 250-7

Hassan Ali charges down the track to attack a short delivery from Tom Aspinwall and absolutely slaps it away to the rope to bring up Warwickshire's first batting bonus point.

Lancashire have two bowling points to their name. Still nine overs and change for Warwickshire to try to reach 300 to match that with the bat.

  14. WICKET Simpson b Bamber 167published at 15:40 25 May

    Middlesex v Sussex 490-7

    High jinks at Lord's.

John Simpson attempts some sort of ramp shot, but makes no contact, overbalances and falls over as the ball from Ethan Bamber hits the stumps.

Simpson batted for 411 minutes, faces 336 balls and hit 16 fours.

  15. Postpublished at 15:39 25 May

    Kent 44-1 v Essex 591-7dec

That's a lovely back-foot punch for four from Daniel Bell-Drummond off first-change Shane Snater, followed two balls later by a swish through the covers for another boundary.

Nine off the over and Aaron Beard will be coming on at the other end as Jamie Porter and Sam Cook get a breather in the sunshine.

  16. Postpublished at 15:37 25 May

    Hants 294-2 v Surrey 127

James Vince is not hanging around here.

He aims a square drive at Cam Steel and it arcs around backward point where it beats Dan Lawrence on the rope. That's a sixth four and takes him to 33 off just 21 balls.

He runs a single off the last to keep the strike.

Hants are just six runs away from a second batting point.

Surrey need a wicket from the next four overs to get a bowling bonus point.

  17. Postpublished at 15:34 25 May

    Kent 35-1 v Essex 591-7dec

Another raucous appeal from Essex, this time from Sam Cook after rapping Ben Compton on the pads, but it looks like it's hit him outside the line and it might have been carrying on anyway.

Ben Raine took the final Somerset wicket

Just five days ago Somerset were celebrating victory over Kent and moving up to second in Division One - but there won't be any party mood as they travel home tonight.

With Tom Banton unable to bat, Ben Raine yorks Jack Leach to finish with 3-26 as Somerset are all out in the 42nd over.

Ben Stokes is the pick of the home attack, though, taking 4-23 from a single spell of 10 movers to take his tally to 15 in two games.

Earlier in the day, Raine (46) and Peter Siddle (31 not out) put on 66 for the final Durham wicket as they led by 94 on first innings.

Durham collect 20 points, just three for Somerset.

  19. 'The best route to victory is to bat just once'published at 15:31 25 May

    Middlesex v Sussex 488-6

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

Sussex continue to pile on the runs at Lord's with no sign of a declaration.

John Simpson is leading from the front and is closing in on a second double century of the season.

The pitch is offering precious little to the bowlers, and with an improving weather forecast Sussex have clearly decided the best route to victory is to bat just once in this game.

  20. Postpublished at 15:30 25 May

    Durham 265 v Somerset 171 & 85-8

A rare loose ball from Ben Stokes and Jack Leach square cuts for four.

Leach digs out an attempted yorker to end that over.

Can Somerset at least avoid an innings defeat at the Riverside? They need another nine runs to do so.
