  1. 'It's been very hard work for the batsmen'published at 12:43 25 May

    Worcs 56-6 v Notts

    Frank Watson
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

It was a good toss for Notts to win but it's not just about the coin, they've exploited it perfectly.

Luke Fletcher's bowling this morning has been exemplary to reach his 450th first-class wicket.

It's been very hard work for the batsmen.

  2. WICKET Gay c Lyth b Hill 32published at 12:41 25 May

    Northants 56-1 v Yorkshire 362

Adam Lyth is having a pretty good game so far.

Following his first-day century, he swoops at second slip to take an excellent catch to send in-form Emilio Gay on his way.

George Hill has the breakthrough for Yorkshire in his opening over.

  3. WICKET Waite c Moores b James 16published at 12:40 25 May

    Worcs 56-6 v Notts

    A stunner from Tom Moores!

Lyndon James sends one marginally down leg and Matthew Waite looks to cash in, flicking it off the face of his bat.

It's a decent shot, but he doesn't count on the Notts wicketkeeper who makes an athletic leap to his left and is horizontal as he takes a two-handed catch.

Everything is coming off for Notts this morning.

  4. 50 for Anuj Dalpublished at 12:40 25 May

    Glos v Derbys 505-7

Anuj Dal beats the fielder at cover and it runs away for four to take him to 50 off 113 balls.

Derbyshire are past 500 now but do they have the firepower to take 20 Gloucestershire wickets on this track?

  5. 50 up for Worcestershirepublished at 12:40 25 May

    Worcs 53-5 v Notts

A shot of real intent from Matthew Waite dispatches Dane Paterson for his first boundary.

He repeats to the trick next ball and Worcestershire have their fifty.

  6. 50 partnership for Warwickshirepublished at 12:39 25 May

    Lancs v Warwickshire 143-4

Another positive shot from Jacob Bethell picks up two and takes him to 29* and brings up the 50 partnership with Alex Davies from 133 balls - their biggest partnership of the game so far.

Only time will tell how important this rebuild proves to be.

  7. 'Pujara century seemed almost inevitable'published at 12:39 25 May

    Middlesex v Sussex 360-4

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

The 65th first-class hundred of Cheteshwar Pujara’s career was one which seemed almost inevitable from the moment he walked to the crease yesterday.

This is his final Championship match for Sussex this season before he returns to India.

John Simpson reached the 12th hundred of his career against his former county and in the same over Sussex added their third batting bonus point off the last ball of the 110 overs courtesy off a no-ball.

  8. Postpublished at 12:37 25 May

    Hants 175-1 v Surrey 127

While Hants are only one down and 48 in front, Surrey have not let them get away.

The run rate remains a touch under two-and-a-half an over as we approach the new ball.

Toby Albert has enough time to get up on his toes and take a single off a back-of-the-length ball from Dan Worrall. There is no pace in this pitch.

Seven overs to the new cherry.

  9. Postpublished at 12:36 25 May

    Lancashire v Warwickshire 141-4

It's taken 92 minutes but Alex Davies has his first boundary of the day, cutting away to the fence at backward point off Jack Morley.

Signs that Warwickshire are emerging from their slumber. Jacob Bethell has moved to 27 and Davies now has 67. Their partnership is up to 48 from 130 balls.

  10. Postpublished at 12:33 25 May

    Worcs 45-5 v Notts

A loose delivery from Notts - a real collector's item this morning.

Lyndon James sends one down short and wide of off stump and Adam Hose says thank you very much, smashing his first boundary square through the offside.

  11. WICKET: Harmer c Denly b Parkinsonpublished at 12:33 25 May

    Kent v Essex 398-6

Six and out for Simon Harmer.

A ball after launching Matt Parkinson over the rope at long off to get off the mark, Harmer tries to go big again but can only sky the ball to Joe Denly to take a juggling catch just inside the deep extra cover boundary.

Here for a good time, not a long time.

Shane Snater is the new batter.

  12. 'So far so good for Hampshire'published at 12:31 25 May

    Hants 172-1 v Surrey 127

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

It's been a good start for Hampshire in the fact that they haven't lost a wicket, that's the number one objective.

From a Surrey point of view - yes they haven't taken a wicket but there's not a lot happening out there. This soft ball, the pitch so there hasn't been too much to get excited about.

Hampshire are not exactly running away with things, so when you're not taking wickets just keep it tight because you never know - if there's a wicket then it might suddenly open up and change.

Surrey will be ideally like things to be happening on this pitch but they are not so it's so far so good for Hampshire.

  13. Division Two latestpublished at 12:31 25 May

Two wickets in successive overs for Glamorgan at Grace Road as Mir Hamza has Marcus Harris lbw for 14 and Louis Kimber is caught behind off Timm van der Gugten. Leicestershire are 38-2 in the 10th over after dismissing the Welsh county for 387.

The Northamptonshire openers are still together at Wantage Road, with the score 40-0 in the 10th, replying to Yorkshire's 362 all out.

Beau Webster has his fourth wicket for Gloucestershire, trapping Alex Thomson lbw for two and Derbyshire are now 492-7.

  14. Postpublished at 12:30 25 May

    Worcs 41-5 v Notts

Dane Paterson runs in for his first action of the match as Luke Fletcher's productive nine-over spell comes to an end.

The last ball keeps low and beats Matt Waite's outside edge. Maiden over to start.

No respite for the home batters thus far.

  15. Best first-class score for Toby Albertpublished at 12:25 25 May

    Hants 170-1 v Surrey 127

Toby Albert goes onto the back foot and turns Dan Lawrence into the leg side to move to 70 and his highest first-class score.

It comes in his sixth Championship match and his first of the season.

    Hants lead goes to 43.

  16. WICKET: Pepper c sub (JK Denly) b Arafat 82published at 12:24 25 May

    Kent v Essex 391-5

No maiden first class century for Michael Pepper who flashes an attempted cut to sub fielder Jaydn Denly at backward point off Arafat Bhuiyan and departs 10 short of his career best score.

A breakthrough for Kent, the partnership with Jordan Cox is broken at 166, but it doesn't get much easier - Simon Harmer is the new man in.

  17. 100 for John Simpsonpublished at 12:23 25 May

    Middlesex v Sussex 354-4

    John SImpsonImage source, Rex Features

Two years ago, John Simpson made a hundred for Middlesex against Sussex at Lord's.

Now the cricket boot is on the other foot as a cover drive for four off Henry Brookes takes him to three figures off 219 balls.

The home side have been unable to separate Simpson and Cheteshwar Pujara this morning and their partnership is now worth 190.

  18. WICKET Lamb c Bracey b Dale 207published at 12:23 25 May

    Glos v Derbys 487-6

It's finally all over for Matthew Lamb at Bristol as he is forced onto the back foot by Ajeet Singh Dale and a thin edge is taken by James Bracey.

Lamb batted for 379 minutes, faced 278 balls and hit a six and 30 fours.

The best innings of his career so far, without a shadow of a doubt.

  19. Postpublished at 12:23 25 May

    Worcs 38-5 v Notts

Luke Fletcher is getting through some work here on his return to first-class cricket.

He runs in for his ninth successive over and remains on the money.

The Notts man keeps Adam Hose honest and that's a fifth maiden.

  20. 100 for Jordan Coxpublished at 12:22 25 May

    Kent v Essex 387-4

    Jordan CoxImage source, Rex Features

A second century in as many games for Jordan Cox against Kent, this one at Canterbury will likely mean even more than the one he registered in the reverse fixture at Chelmsford last month.

He brings up his seventh first-class century from 178 balls, the last of which he cuts through the covers off Matt Parkinson for his 12th four, to go with his straight six last night.

Big yells from the balcony and warm applause around the ground as Cox removes his helmet and rhythmically fist-pumps in the direction of the pavilion.
