  1. Postpublished at 11:51 25 May

    Hants 139-1 v Surrey 127

Toby Albert plays out a maiden from Gus Atkinson.

Surrey turn to Dan Lawrence who serves up a low full toss and Nick Gubbins works it away for two to move to 44.

A single then brings him within five of his fifty.

Three from the over and the Hants lead is 12. Surrey badly need the pitch to start misbehaving.

The new ball is still 20 overs away.

  2. Latest from Lord'spublished at 11:47 25 May

    Middlesex v Sussex 313-4

We have had 12 overs so far this morning at the home of cricket and Sussex have added 21 runs to their overnight score.

They haven't lost a wicket, though, and Cheteshwar Puajara is 93 not out, with John Simpson on 83 against his former club.

  3. WICKET Roderick c Harrison b Fletcher 2published at 11:47 25 May

    Worcs 16-3 v Notts

    A beauty from Luke Fletcher!

Gareth Roderick has no choice but to play at a ball which was again endangering off-stump and it takes his outside edge.

Calvin Harrison again does well at second slip to take his second catch of the day off Fletcher, this time with two hands.

Worcestershire in trouble, Adam Hose is in.

  4. Postpublished at 11:46 25 May

    Kent v Essex 330-4

20 needed from three overs. We're getting into T20 Blast territory here...

Kent would love two wickets to claim a second bowling point, but that seems a taller order.

  5. WICKET Thompson lbw Sanderson 53published at 11:45 25 May

    Northants v Yorks 362

Just a few minutes after Glamorgan are bowled out at Leicester, the same fate befalls Yorkshire at Wantage Road.

ben Sanderson finds a little bit of inswing and Jordan Thompson is gone after hitting a six and eight fours in his 53 off 51 balls.

  6. Postpublished at 11:45 25 May

    Lancashire v Warwickshire 104-4

Warwickshire are 15-1 in 10 overs this morning. Absolutely no rush. Just keeping the ship steady and seeing what happens.

The chances of this game going the distance with no further interruptions from the elements does seem slim, given the forecast.

Nathan Lyon is introduced for the first time this morning as Lancs seek to turn the screw.

  7. Postpublished at 11:45 25 May

    Worcs 15-2 v Notts

Dillon Pennington is in the mood and thuds another scorching delivery into the pads of Gareth Roderick.

A huge appeal but no dice. The former Pears man is roaring in and finding real pace here.

  8. Postpublished at 11:42 25 May

    Hants 136-1 v Surrey 127

Nick Gubbins has looked good since he came to the wicket yesterday evening and sweeps Cam Steel to the boundary just in front of the pavilion.

He's eight short of another half-century.

Seven from the over and the partnership is worth 85.

England paceman Gus Atkinson will have a bowl.

  9. Postpublished at 11:42 25 May

    Kent v Essex 327-4

Grant Stewart gives up a single off the first ball to Michael Pepper but then fires in five dot balls against Jordan Cox.

23 runs from 24 balls required for Essex to claim that point - who knows how vital it could be come September.

  10. 200 for Matthew Lambpublished at 11:40 25 May

    Glos v Derbyshire 466-5

What an innings by Matthew Lamb.

It's not his finest stroke as he edges Matt Taylor past first slip for four but it brings up his double century from 254 balls.

His previous best first-class score before this was 173 against Essex in 2019.

He and Anuj Dal (24 not out) have so far put on 59.

  11. Postpublished at 11:40 25 May

    Worcs 13-2 v Notts

It's finally happened - Luke Fletcher has conceded a run.

After four maidens and a wicket, Rob Jones eases the first ball of his fifth over away to the boundary.

A single follows, moving Jones to eight. Gareth Roderick then gets off the mark off his 14th ball with a single.

    Tough going for the hosts.

  12. Glamorgan all out at Grace Roadpublished at 11:40 25 May

    Leics v Glamorgan 387

Glamorgan's first innings come to an end as James Harris is caught behind off Ben Mike for 18.

That will make Mike feel a bit better having been hit for two successive sixes by Mir Hamza earlier in the over - the first slogged over mid-wicket and the second top edged over to keeper as he tried to repeat the shot.

Hamza is left on 24 not out and both sides take three bonus points each as Scott Currie finishes with 5-64 for Leicestershire.

  13. Postpublished at 11:38 25 May

    Kent v Essex 326-4

Joey Evison sends down a maiden over to Jordan Cox. Not in the script.

24 runs needed from five overs for that batting bonus point for Essex.

You could hardly pick two players better suited to chasing it, if that's their aim...

  14. 'It's great to have some cricket here'published at 11:37 25 May

    Worcs 4-2 v Notts

    Frank Watson
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

    A great start for Notts.

You wouldn't really want to be batting out there. Not a lot to hit I would say.

It's just great to have some cricket here.

  15. WICKET Revis lbw Sanderson 27published at 11:36 25 May

    Northants v Yorks 361-9

First wicket of the day for Northamptonshire.

Ben Sanderson has been on the receiving end of some harsh treatment by Jordan Thompson but he responds by sending back Matthew Revis.

And one becomes two as spinner Rob Keogh bowls Dom Leech second ball in the following over.

  16. 50 for Toby Albertpublished at 11:35 25 May

    Hants 129-1 v Surrey 127

    Toby AlbertImage source, Rex Features

Toby Albert pushes into the onside for a single to bring up his second first-class fifty. Well batted, young man!

It's come off a patient 173 balls, featuring five fours.

It's just his sixth Championship outing and his first of the season after coming in for Ali Orr who suffered a back spasm a day before the match.

  17. 100 partnership for Essexpublished at 11:33 25 May

    Kent v Essex 325-4

Michael Pepper scampers through for a single off Grant Stewart and brings up the century stand for this fifth wicket from only 141 deliveries.

He has scored 51 of them with Jordan Cox the other 49. Cox has 74 in total and you can be sure there is only one thing in his mind.

There's also a batting point 25 runs away with more than six overs remaining to secure it.

  18. Hampshire move in frontpublished at 11:33 25 May

    Hants 128-1 v Surrey 127

No scares this morning as Surrey have yet to find the spark.

Toby Albert cuts away for a single off Cam Steel and Hants move in front.

We're just half-an-hour into day two and the hosts already have a lead on the defending champions with nine wickets in hand.

A dream start to this match.

  19. WICKET Parkinson c Rew b Ball 15published at 11:32 25 May

    Durham 199-9 v Somerset 171

    Fantastic.

Jake Ball claims his fifth wicket of the innings as wicketkeeper James Rew pulls off a stupendous one-handed catch diving low to his right.

It wasn't the great of shots by Callum Parkinson, but that should take nothing away from Rew's athleticism.

  20. 50 for Michael Pepperpublished at 11:29 25 May

    Kent v Essex 321-4

    Michael PepperImage source, Rex Features

Michael Pepper brings up just his fourth first class half-century in typically breezy fashion from 72 balls, four of them struck for four with another clearing the ropes.

The partnership with Jordan Cox is up to 96.
