  1. Postpublished at 12:20 25 May

    Hants 168-1 v Surrey 127

Dan Lawrence goes around the wicket as Surrey continue with spin.

But the Hampshire batters continue untroubled, as Nick Gubbins and Toby Albert milk two singles apiece.

Gubbins has 58 and Albert is two short of his highest first-class score.

Hants are not exactly roaring off into the distance, but look in complete control. Twelve overs to the new ball.

  2. WICKET Raine c Rew b Gregory 46published at 12:20 25 May

    Durham 265 v Somerset 171

So the Durham lead is 94.

Ben Raine flashes at a ball from Lewis Gregory and that's far easier for James Rew than the brilliant catch he pulled off to send back Callum Parkinson earlier on.

Raine put on 66 in 11 overs with Peter Siddle, who remains 31 not out.

Concussion replacement Jake Ball takes the bowling plaudits for Somerset with figures of 5-62.

  3. Niggle value from Durhampublished at 12:19 25 May

    Durham 264-9 v Somerset 171

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Ben Raine (46) and Peter Siddle (30) are adding real niggle value here having put together a last wicket stand of 65 runs.

After three wickets fell in six overs this morning, these two have settled into a nice rhythm and taken Durham to a batting point, something we didn't think we would see in this game.

It's all adding to the frustration for the Somerset bowlers and could be an invaluable lead in the circumstances of what has been a low-scoring game.

  4. 'It's all going swimmingly for the hosts'published at 12:19 25 May

    Hants 164-1 v Surrey 127

    Dan Whiting
    BBC Radio London

Hampshire are moving along with this game in a rather serene fashion.

It's all going rather swimmingly for the hosts.

Surrey huffed and puffed a little bit this morning but still no breakthrough quite yet.

I think Hampshire might find it hard to bowl out Surrey a second time as well, that's going to be the crux of the matter.

  5. Postpublished at 12:16 25 May

    Durham 259-9 v Somerset 171

Just like Ricky Ponting would have played it - ha!

Peter Siddle bisects short mid-wicket and a diving mid-on as he puts away an overpitched delivery from Josh Davey.

Siddle is 25 not out and the Durham lead is 88.

  6. 150 partnership for Essexpublished at 12:16 25 May

    Kent v Essex 378-4

Jordan Cox moves to 90 as he picks up Matt Parkinson's delivery and hammers towards the rope at deep midwicket. His 10th four to go with a six.

The partnership with Michael Pepper is 152 from 195 balls.

  7. WICKET D'Oliveira lbw b Jamespublished at 12:14 25 May

    Worcs 34-5 v Notts

The toss is looking a really good one to have won.

Lyndon James is into his second over and pins Worcestershire skipper Brett D'Oliveira in front. That's out!

His four-ball stay comes to an end as James takes his first wicket.

The Notts attack have benefitted from helpful conditions, but boy have they exploited it.

    Matt Waite is in.

  8. 100 partnershippublished at 12:12 25 May

    Hants 158-1 v Surrey 127

Nick Gubbins' single takes the second-wicket partnership to three figures.

It's come without serious alarm off 246 balls and almost two-and-a-half hours. It could prove pivotal.

Toby Albert follows with a four.

  9. Postpublished at 12:12 25 May

    Durham 245-9 v Somerset 171

    Confident.

Durham number 11 Peter Siddle gives himself room and cracks Josh Davey through the covers for four as he advances to 18 not out.

There are two boundaries for Ben Raine in the next, bowled by Lewis Gregory, as he and Siddle post a 50 partnership for the 10th wicket.

  10. Postpublished at 12:11 25 May

    Kent v Essex 370-4

It looks like being an intriguing race to three-figures for Jordan Cox and Michael Pepper.

Pepper is finishing fast and coming up on the stand side with 80 from 96 balls while early pace-setter Cox has 87 from 164 balls as he tries to stay on for what would be a significant personal achievement for him against the side he left last winter, back at the ground where he first made his way in the game.

Their partnership is 145 from 191 balls.

At some point Essex will have to figure out how to turn a commanding position into a winning one, but you'd expect that will come later this afternoon.

  11. Division Two round-uppublished at 12:07 25 May

Matthew Lamb continues to torment Gloucestershire at Bristol. He is now 205 not out in Derbyshire's 478-5.

Leicestershire have made a positive start in reply to Glamorgan's 387 all out at Grace Road - they are 21-0 after five overs.

No joy yet for Yorkshire at Wantage Road - having been bowled out for 362 - with Northants 19-0 in the fourth over.

  12. WICKET Jones c Moores b Fletcher 19published at 12:06 25 May

    Worcs 29-4 v Notts

    Another for the Bulwell Bomber!

Rob Jones is the only batter to have settled this morning but has gone for a 29-ball 19.

He aims an expansive drive at Luke Fletcher and nicks off to wicketkeeper Tom Moores.

That's a third of the morning for Fletcher in his first Championship match of the season.

The Pears hole gets a little deeper. Skipper Brett D'Oliveira joins Adam Hose.

  13. 50 for Nick Gubbinspublished at 12:05 25 May

    Hants 149-1 v Surrey 127

Lovely shot and that's a fourth fifty of the season for Nick Gubbins.

He waits for a wide ball from Gus Atkinson and plays a late cut through the vacant second slip area to the fence.

Hampshire's leading run scorer this season moves to his 41st first-class half-century off 109 balls.

The Hants first-innings lead is up to 22 runs.

  14. 100 for Cheteshwar Pujarapublished at 12:05 25 May

    Middlesex v Sussex 321-4

    Cheteshwar PujaraImage source, Rex Features

Cheteshwar Pujara brings up his 65th - sixty fifth - first class century and second of the season from 256 balls, spinning on a sixpence to pull a short Henry Brookes delivery through deep square to the rope for his 12th four.

He has changed the course of plenty of cricket matches in his 36 years, this is just another to add to the list.

His partnership with John Simpson (84 not out) is up to 157 and taken Sussex into a strong position, having been asked to bat first at Lord's.

  15. Postpublished at 12:03 25 May

    Worcs 26-3 v Notts

Lyndon James runs in for his first over of the match as Dillon Pennington takes a well-earned breather.

Adam Hose gets off the mark with a single and a no-ball follows.

Rob Jones walks down the pitch to James, trying to unsettle the all-rounder and it almost proves his undoing,

He reaches for a wide ball outside off-stump, misses, and it skids through low to wicketkeeper Tom Moores.

  16. Postpublished at 12:02 25 May

    Lancashire v Warwickshire 114-4

Intriguing spell at Old Trafford as Nathan Lyon sets up camp at one end.

Alex Davies is standing firm on 54 - just seven runs added to his overnight score in the opening hour of the day.

His heart is going like the clappers though, a breakdown in communication over a single with Jacob Bethell means he needs to Klinsmann dive into his ground to avoid a run-out.

  17. Third batting bonus point for Essexpublished at 11:59 25 May

    Kent v Essex 350-4

Brought up with three balls to spare. A single tickled down to third by Michael Pepper off Arafat Bhuiyan.

Kent have to settle for a single bowling point.

  18. Postpublished at 11:56 25 May

    Worcs 23-3 v Notts

A collective shout of 'oh' as Adam Hose faces his first ball and plays a loose drive at Dillon Pennington.

Luckily for him it misses everything and goes through to Tom Moores.

Three more runs for Rob Jones from the over takes him to 13. A good knock in the circumstances.

Jones then uses his wrists to guide a slightly wide ball from Luke Fletcher to the boundary. A third four of a difficult morning for Worcestershire.

  19. Postpublished at 11:56 25 May

    Durham 226-9 v Somerset 171

Having got rid of David Bedingham early, this will be frustrating for Somerset.

Ben Raine square cuts Craig Overton for four and then punches another boundary through mid-on later in the over.

Raine is now 32 not out, with Aussie Peter Siddle six not out at the other end.

  20. Postpublished at 11:55 25 May

    Kent v Essex 346-4

A couple of boundaries for Michael Pepper in the last two overs when Essex needed them most mean his side need just four runs from the 110th over to secure that third bonus point.

Pepper has 68 with Jordan Cox on 77.

Measured to perfection, one would think.
