  1. First batting point for Hampshirepublished at 15:01 25 May

    Hants 251-1 v Surrey 127

Toby Albert tries to uppercut Gus Atkinson to third man boundary, but misses and it finds the gloves of wicketkeeper Jamie Smith who continues to deputise for Ben Foakes.

An odd shot, out of keeping with what's gone before.

That's a lovely shot. Albert is up on his toes to Atkinson's final ball and flicks it off his hip through midwicket and square leg for four.

It takes Hampshire past 250 and also takes this gargantuan second-wicket stand to 200, compiled off 442 balls.

  2. Postpublished at 15:00 25 May

    Kent 15-0 v Essex 591-7dec

Sam Cook gets the new ball from the other end and Zak Crawley helps himself to a couple of boundaries, the first a lovely drive down the ground and then a neat square clip off his pads.

15 off the opening two overs. Another 45 like those today and Kent will feel very content at stumps. Long way to go before that though...

  3. 150 for John Simpsonpublished at 14:58 25 May

    Middlesex v Sussex 466-6

John Simpson dabs left-arm spinner Nathan Fernandes for four and reaches 150 from 305 balls.

It has been a magnificent innings against his former club and that is his 15th boundary so far.

  4. Postpublished at 14:54 25 May

    Kent 4-0 v Essex 591-7dec

Big celebrappeal from Jamie Porter as he draws Ben Compton forward in defence, beating the edge.

He is positive he didn't beat it, he thinks Compton nicked it and Michael Pepper took the catch behind the stumps, but the umpire is not having any of it.

    The group hug quickly disbands...

Compton gets off the mark with a punch through the covers for four later in the over.

  5. Postpublished at 14:54 25 May

    Worcs 80 v Notts 32-0

Adam Finch is on for Nathan Smith and Ben Slater cuts his third ball - a loose one - for his fourth boundary.

It takes him to 21. Not a landmark score you'd think, but it's the best anyone has managed today.

  6. WICKET Rew c Robinson b Stokes 7published at 14:53 25 May

    Durham 265 v Somerset 171 & 61-6

Another one gone at the Riverside.

Ben Stokes ends his latest over with a full-length away-swinger and James Rew edges through to Ollie Robinson behind the stumps.

It's a wicket maiden and Stokes now has 3-15 from six overs.

  7. Postpublished at 14:51 25 May

    Worcs 80 v Notts 26-0

There's a change in the attack as Matthew Waite replaces Joe Leach, with the hosts much in need of a breakthrough.

Tidy stuff - five dots followed by a Ben Slater single.

What seemed a minefield of a pitch this morning is behaving itself in the afternoon sunshine. So far.

  8. Postpublished at 14:50 25 May

    Kent 0-0 v Essex 591-7dec

Zak Crawley and Ben Compton stride out at Canterbury to begin the reply.

Jamie Porter, on his 31st birthday, has a fresh cherry in his hand - possibly off his cake.

  9. Postpublished at 14:50 25 May

    Durham 265 v Somerset 171 & 61-5

Paul Coughlin thinks he has Lewis Gregory caught behind down the leg-side. The umpire disgarees.

This is gripping stuff as Durham look to wrap up a victory inside two days. Somerset are still 33 behind.

  10. Hants pair set new bestpublished at 14:48 25 May

    Hants 241-1 v Surrey 127

Toby Albert and Nick Gubbins will be blissfully unaware, but they've written themselves into the Hampshire record books.

They've currently put on 190 runs, eclipsing Hampshire's previous highest second-wicket stand against Surrey.

That was set at the Oval all the way back in 1961 by the venerable pair of Roy Marshall and Henry Horton.

    Nice stat!

  11. WICKET: Burgess lbw b Balderson 24published at 14:45 25 May

    Lancs v Warwickshire 209-6

George Balderson has another. The pendulum swings once more. He gets one to straighten up on Michael Burgess and raps him on the pad. Up goes the finger.

Jake Lintott - making only his third red ball appearance in four seasons - joins Alex Davies in the middle.

  12. Postpublished at 14:44 25 May

    Worcs 80 v Notts 25-0

Joe Leach offers up a bit of width and Ben Slater cashes in.

He throws the bat at that one and carves it away through the covers for his third boundary. Slater has 16.

  13. Divison Two round-uppublished at 14:42 25 May

John Simpson is now 140 not out at Lord's, where Sussex are 450-6 against Middlesex. Fynn Hudson-Prentice was the last man to go, caught off Luke Hollman for 28.

Northants have lost India batter Karun Nair, who was caught off Matthew Revis for eight and they are 116-3 after bowling out Yorkshire for 362.

Leicestershire have reached 94-3 at Grace Road, with Lewis Hill 34 not out, in reply to Glamorgan's score of 387.

Just singles at the moment at Bristol, where Gloucestershire are 33-1 after Derbyshire piled up 526 all out, with Matthew Lamb making 207.

  14. WICKET: Cox b O'Riordan 207published at 14:41 25 May

    Kent v Essex 591-7

    And a declaration...

Jordan Cox steps away trying to cut off-spinner Marcus O'Riordan but instead sees his off stump removed as he topples backwards. No career best on his return but what a contribution.

Shane Snater finishes on a career best 83*.

Really simple equation for Kent. Bat. For as long as you can.

  15. Postpublished at 14:41 25 May

    Hants 240-1 v Surrey 127

Toby Albert goes on the attack as he smacks Sean Abbott to the rope for four.

Abbott's response is strong as he fizzes one past Albert's outside edge.

Gus Atkinson, still waiting for his first wicket, runs in and Nick Gubbins guides his second ball quite deliberately down past the slips for four to move into the 90s.

  16. 200 up for Warwickshirepublished at 14:40 25 May

    Lancs v Warwickshire 204-5

    ... in the 85th over.

Michael Burgess has gone up a gear with back-to-back cuts for four off Tom Bailey to move to 23*.

Alex Davies is on a stoic 90 at the other end.

  17. Postpublished at 14:38 25 May

    Worcs 80 v Notts 21-0

Joe Leach almost makes the breakthrough as he draws an edge from Ben Slater.

In keeping with Worcestershire's day it drops just shirt of Ed Pollock at first slip.

A first real scare for the Nottinghamshire openers.

Haseeb Hameed then gets an edge to Nathan Smith but it's safe enough and runs down to third man for two more.

  18. WICKET Davey c Ackermann b Coughlin 7published at 14:37 25 May

    Durham 265 v Somerset 171 & 57-5

Maybe Anthony Gibson was right (see 2:35 entry).

Paul Coughlin squares up Josh Davey with a fine delivery and Colin Ackermann takes his second slip catch in a matter of minutes.

Lewis Gregory comes out to bat at seven.

  19. Career best for Shane Snaterpublished at 14:37 25 May

    Kent v Essex 586-6

A straight six and a straight four from Shane Snater off Joey Evison take him to 81 from 82 balls, beating his previous mark of 79 not out.

The records just keep on coming...

  20. 'Somerset need to bat better'published at 14:35 25 May

    Durham 265 v Somerset 171 & 56-4

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Somerset need to bat a whole lot better than they have do so far if they are going to take this game into a third day.

But this is looking very much like it will be all over today.
