  1. WICKET: Lintott c Hurst b Lyon 9published at 15:30 25 May

    Lancs v Warwickshire 231-7

    Live by the sword...

Jake Lintott tries another reverse sweep off Nathan Lyon but the ball deflects off his pad onto his glove, into the air and into the hands of Matty Hurst.

A first wicket in 31 overs for Nathan Lyon. Doesn't usually take that long.

Hassan Ali is the new batter.

  2. Postpublished at 15:30 25 May

    Worcs 80 v Notts 73-0

    Lovely shot!

Nathan Smith returns to the attack at the Diglis End and Ben Slater welcomes him back by slapping him through midwicket for four.

He timed that superbly to move to 39.

The deficit is already down to just seven runs - and there's still 51 overs scheduled today.

    Worcestershire turn to Ben Gibbon.

  3. Postpublished at 15:25 25 May

    Hants 280-2 v Surrey 127

Surrey director of cricket Alec Stewart decides to take a stroll around the ground and applauds an energetic piece of fielding by Gus Atkinson on the boundary.

He stopped the initial effort from James Vince with an athletic dive, but it bobbles over the rope.

  4. 100 for Alex Daviespublished at 15:23 25 May

    Lancs v Warwickshire 230-6

It's taken him 95.5 overs but this is one of the most disciplined knocks you could wish to see, on his old stomping ground at Old Trafford.

A true captain's innings, playing well within himself and doing what was needed.

It came up from 256 deliveries and was brought up with his 10th four, carved away off Nathan Lyon.

His fist was pumping before the ball had even left the square.

    Some effort.

  5. WICKET Gregory lbw Raine 7published at 15:21 25 May

    Durham 265 v Somerset 171 & 77-8

It's not all about Ben Stokes for Durham - not quite.

Lewis Gregory pays the price for walking across in front of his stumps as Ben Raine has him leg-before.

Concussion replacement Jake Ball walks out to bat so the ailing Tom Banton clearly isn't going to bat.

Durham on the brink of victory.

  6. 100 for Nick Gubbinspublished at 15:21 25 May

    Hants 275-2 v Surrey 127

Nick Gubbins scores a centuryImage source, Rex Features

Nick Gubbins pushes Cam Steel into the onside for a single and that's a second century of the season.

It's been an accomplished knock, compiled off 212 balls, and is putting his side in a commanding position. Just the 18th first-class ton of his career.

Gubbins missed last week on paternity leave and he's clearly not affected by sleep deprivation.

    The lead climbs to 148.

  7. 'Essex continue to dominate this match'published at 15:21 25 May

    Kent 30-1 v Essex 591-7dec

    Matt Cole
    BBC Radio Kent

It's a brisk start from Kent on what is a very flat pitch.

With a new hard ball, it's coming onto the bat but Kent's task now is to defend their wicket over the next couple of days - and Zak Crawley has gone.

It's been all about one man for Essex today, the former Kent batter Jordan Cox who completed a double century against his old side.

He moved during the winter and celebrated as you'd expect in an emotional fashion.

  8. 50 for Lewis Hillpublished at 15:19 25 May

    Leics 132-3 v Glamorgan 387

The 33-year-old brings up his 21st first class half-century with his fifth boundary off Mason Crane, a sweep to fine leg from the 98th ball he had faced.

Back-to-back fifties for the skipper after his knock against Gloucestershire last time out.

Giving his side a useful platform at Grace Road.

  9. 'You don't change your mind against Lyon'published at 15:18 25 May

    Lancs v Warwickshire 224-6

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

You don't want to be changing your mind against Nathan Lyon.

If you want go for it, you just go for it or you can get yourself into a lot of trouble.

It is a more lively game than the score might suggest.

  10. Postpublished at 15:18 25 May

    Worcs 80 v Notts 60-0

Adam Finch overpitches and Ben Slater clips it off his toes for his second boundary of the over.

Finch has gone for 24 off four overs and Notts are three-quarters of the way to wiping out the deficit already.

  11. Postpublished at 15:16 25 May

    Durham 265 v Somerset 171 & 73-7

Paul Coughlin finds the edge of Jack Leach's bat but it doesn't carry to first slip.

Leach then drives through the covers - guess who chases it all the way to the rope and makes a fingertip save to prevent the boundary.

Ben Stokes, of course. What an example he is and he's now going to bowl the ninth over of his spell from the other end.

  12. Postpublished at 15:16 25 May

    Lancs v Warwickshire 223-6

A reverse sweep finds the ropes from Jake Lintott off Nathan Lyon, sprinkling a little white ball magic onto a County Championship afternoon.

He moves onto eight, his skipper has been in the 90s for a while now.

A batting bonus point is 27 runs away.

  13. 50 up for Nottspublished at 15:15 25 May

    Worcs 80 v Notts 54-0

A lovely shot from skipper Haseeb Hameed through the leg side off Matthew Waite takes Notts to 50 without loss.

A similarly stylish boundary follows as Hameed moves to 24 and passes his partner Ben Slater.

A dream start for the visitors.

  14. Postpublished at 15:12 25 May

    Hants 258-2 v Surrey 127

James Vince is off the mark with a single off his first ball and gets his first boundary off his third, pushing Gus Atkinson down to the third man boundary.

The Hampshire skipper has just one half-century this season and will be keen to cash in here.

The Hampshire lead is 131. Ten more overs left to accrue bonus points.

  15. Postpublished at 15:11 25 May

    Kent 24-1 v Essex 591-7dec

Daniel Bell-Drummond punches a ball from Sam Cook towards mid-off and sets off for a run, getting well over halfway down the track before realising Ben Compton hasn't moved.

He manages to regather his ground but his heart rate was probably still racing two balls later when he clips straight to Aaron Beard at midwicket who puts down a decent chance to oust then Kent skipper for no score.

Kent are reeling. A time for calm heads to prevail.

  16. WICKET Overton c Ackermann b Stokes 6published at 15:09 25 May

    Durham 265 v Somerset 171 & 69-7

If Tom Banton is too unwell to bat, Durham may only be two wickets away from victory.

That's four wickets now for Ben Stokes and once again - for the third time - it's Colin Ackermann on catching duty.

Somerset are 25 behind as Jack Leach reaches the crease.

  17. WICKET: Crawley c Elgar b Cook 16published at 15:07 25 May

    Kent 24-1 v Essex 591-7dec

    Zak CrawleyImage source, Rex Features

With the first ball of his second over Sam Cook finds the edge of Zak Crawley's bat but his soft hands mean the ball bounces short of second slip.

Next ball - four through midwicket

Next ball - gone. Caught. At second slip. By Dean Elgar.

Kent are one down in the fourth opener. Crawley looked so good... until he got out.

  18. WICKET Albert c Atkinson b Abbott 114published at 15:04 25 May

    Hants 252-2 v Surrey 127

A fine innings comes to an end as Toby Albert finds Gus Atkinson at fine leg off the bowling of Sean Abbott.

It's been a superb knock and he rightly gets a ovation as he walks back to the pavilion, raising his bat as he goes.

His 114 came off 305 balls.

The record second-wicket stand for Hampshire against Surrey comes to an end on 201.

Surrey may well wince as the next man walks in. James Vince.

  19. Postpublished at 15:02 25 May

    Durham 265 v Somerset 171 & 66-6

Lewis Gregory is content just to survive Ben Stokes' latest over.

How many more will the England skipper be given in this spell?

He's sent down seven so far and taken 3-15.

  20. 'Notts have done ok thus far'published at 15:01 25 May

    Worcs 80 v Notts 26-0

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

    It's a lovely afternoon.

The initial fear the Nottinghamshire supporters would have had would be that wickets continued to tumble as they did this morning and they might find themselves like they did last week - 50-5 or six.

    Thus far they've done ok.
