Summary

  1. Postpublished at 16:19 British Summer Time 11 September

    Durham 573-9 dec v Lancs 288 & 61-3

A slip and a silly mid off in for the spin of Callum Parkinson.

He tosses it up to Josh Bohannon, who drives but without getting the ball past mid on.

    Maiden over.

Matty Hurst is forward to Matt Potts, defending into the off side.

He'll get three driven to deep cover point as the ball is picked up just inside the rope.

    30 overs left tonight.

  2. Postpublished at 16:19 British Summer Time 11 September

    Somerset 317 & 109-5 v Surrey 321

Lewis Gregory drives Jordan Clark handsomely through the offside for his first boundary and takes the Somerset lead into three figures.

A single apiece from the skipper and James Rew moves the lead to 105 and the sixth-wicket stand to 34.

Sunshine is bathing the ground, but rain clouds look to be lurking ominously and closing in fast.

  3. rain stops play

Rain stopped play at Canterbury...but only for a few secondspublished at 16:16 British Summer Time 11 September

    Kent 207 & 37-0 v Hampshire 403

    Not a massive surprise.

It has been raining for a while and now it has got harder.

James Vince hovers with the umpires...actually the covers are being taken straight back off.

Play was delayed for all of four minutes!

  4. Postpublished at 16:16 British Summer Time 11 September

    Durham 579-3 dec v Lancs 228 & 58-3

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

Lancashire haven't lost three successive Championship games in a row by an innings since 1907.

Following defeats against Surrey and Hampshire by an innings coming into this game, the Red Rose are facing the possibility of a third on the bounce.

Also, it would set an new unwanted record - having earlier this campaign lost to Essex by an innings, Lancashire have never lost four games in a single Championship season by an innings.

Plenty of records set in Durham today - that is one Lancashire will be hoping doesn't materialise.

  5. 100 runs

100 up for Somersetpublished at 16:15 British Summer Time 11 September

    Somerset 317 & 103-5 v Surrey 321

It's not entirely convincing but it's four.

James Rew opens the face of his bat as Jordan Clark bowls around the wicket and finds the third man boundary. But he may not have been aiming there.

A single then takes him to 23.

He then sweeps Shakib Al Hasan but skews it high in the sky. But it drops safe, spins and dummies Jordan Clark for a boundary.

    Again, not convincing but effective.

The hundred is up in the 28th over and the Somerset lead is 99.

  6. Postpublished at 16:14 British Summer Time 11 September

    Northants 219 & 211 v Derbys 165 & 60-3 (target: 266)

    Friendly fire!

Wayne Madsen rockets a ball straight back at David Lloyd at the non-striker's end.

Right in the thigh pad. That has got to hurt!

  7. Play resumes at Leicesterpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 11 September

    Leicestershire 98 & 187-7 v Yorkshire 379

    How long can Leicestershire last?

The sun is shining so bad light won't save them in the near future.

    Three wickets to go...

  8. Postpublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 11 September

    Durham 573-9 dec v Lancs 288 & 58-3

Perhaps Lancashire can take some comfort from the fact that they have their top run scorers in this game at the crease now.

But they're under a ton of pressure.

    Maiden over from Callum Parkinson.

Two slips in for Matt Potts, bowling to Matty Hurst from the Lumley End.

A leg side third ball is tucked away behind square for two.

    That's his first scoring shot.

He'll get two more punched through to deep point on the back foot.

  9. It's rainingpublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 11 September

    Kent 207 & 36-0 v Hampshire 403

There is more than a spot of rain at Canterbury.

They are continuing to play for now.

  10. 50 for Kiran Carlsonpublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 11 September

    Sussex 491 v Glamorgan 186 & 154-4

Kiran Carlson turns through legside for a single which brings up his half-century.

That's his 26th first-class fifty, following hot on the heels of the 25th.

Unlike many of his team-mates he appears to enjoy batting against Sussex.

  11. Play resumes at Tauntonpublished at 16:08 British Summer Time 11 September

    Somerset 317 & 93-5 v Surrey 321

Jordan Clark completes his fourth over which was cut short by pre-rain tea.

Shakib Al Hasan continues after tea and Lewis Gregory unfurls a lovely shot for four to get the scoreboard ticking over.

Three singles take the Somerset lead to 89.

  12. Postpublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 11 September

    Sussex 491 v Glamorgan 186 & 145-4

Jack Carson is straight back on after tea but his first ball is dispatched for Ben Kellaway for his second four.

A single takes him into double figures.

Kiran Carlson's parents are here and he could reward them with a second fifty of the match.

He takes a leg bye off Henry Crocombe's seventh over and remains on 42.

  13. wicket

WICKET Bell c Robinson b Potts 0published at 16:03 British Summer Time 11 September

    Durham 573-9 dec v Lancs 288 & 54-3

Lancashire passed 50 in the 16th over but crucially are now two wickets down and 294 adrift with effectively four sessions of play left in this game.

Matt Potts bowls to Josh Bohannon, who gets two with a push into the off side.

Single off the next ball and now George Bell has gone!

    That's a second ball duck.

A beauty from Potts, squaring Bell up and taking the edge of the bat through to the Durham keeper.

Matty Hurst is in next with Lancashire in tatters.

  15. Back going at Canterburypublished at 16:01 British Summer Time 11 September

    Kent 207 & 28-0 v Hampshire 403

If Kent can get through until close without losing another wicket they will take massive heart.

But with Kent you always sense a collapse.

Kyle Abbott starts things up again after tea.

  16. rain stops play

Weather at Worcesterpublished at 16:00 British Summer Time 11 September

    Worcestershire 307, Warwickshire 128 & 169-3

Rainbreak at Worcester as the players go quickly scurrying from the field.

Unlike yesterday's drip, drip, drop little September showers, this looks more terminal. And the sky over the cathedral looks very dark and ugly.

  17. wicket

WICKET Wells b Parkinson 29published at 15:58 British Summer Time 11 September

    Durham 573-9 dec v Lancs 288 & 51-2

A slip and short leg in for Callum Parkinson.

Luke Wells gets two with a reverse sweep and tries to repeat the shot two balls later and he's lost his leg stump!

Disastrous start to the session for the Red Rose.

Time to bring in George Bell.

Or perhaps ring in George Bell. Sorry...

Josh Bohannon is unbeaten on 18.

Lancashire need to bat through 36 overs tonight and most of tomorrow to hold Durham to a draw.

    They trail by 296.

  20. Play resumes at Hovepublished at 15:55 British Summer Time 11 September

    Sussex 491 v Glamorgan 186 & 138-4

Tea should have been a relaxed affair for the hosts after a strong afternoon's cricket.

An extended 43 over evening session begins with Henry Crocombe running down the hill to Kiran Carlson.

He takes a single off the first ball to move to 41 and Ben Kellaway clips into the legside for one.
