  1. Postpublished at 12:25 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 70-4 v Worcs

Ben Gibbon is in the attack replacing Yadvinder Singh and he nearly cuts Ollie Pope in half with a bouncer.

    Maiden over.

Matthew Waite is a tad short and Dan Lawrence steers the ball away for a single.

  2. Stokes ends first spellpublished at 12:24 British Summer Time 17 May

    Lancashire 80-0 v Durham

    Sam Drury
BBC Sport cricket writer at Stanley Park

Ben Stokes' first spell comes to an end after four overs.

He was relatively expensive, conceding 26 at 6.5 an over, but his pace looked decent enough and, crucially, he didn't look to be troubled by that pesky knee injury.

Surgery last autumn was meant to put an end to that and, so far, the signs are positive that it has.

Meanwhile, Keaton Jennings is batting very nicely for Lancashire and brought up his half-century with a lovely back-foot punch through the covers.

  3. 'Sussex off to a flyer but Yorkshire fight back'published at 12:24 British Summer Time 17 May

    Sussex 78-3 v Yorkshire

A opening hour of two halves at Hove with Sussex off to a flyer before Yorkshire fought back with three quick wickets.

On a greenish looking pitch Shan Masood had no hesitation in asking Sussex to bat first, but then watched as Tom Haines and Tom Clark plundered the early bowling racing to 42 in just seven overs.

However the three Toms, Clark Haines and Alsop were all dismissed for the addition of just 19 runs, the latter to a brilliant diving catch by Finlay Bean at third slip, off the bowling of George Hill who has taken two of the wickets to fall.

  4. wicket

WICKET: Hameed c Brown b Barker 20published at 12:23 British Summer Time 17 May

    Notts 37-4 v Hants

Keith Barker has certainly deserved a wicket this morning - and now he has one.

The left-armer changes pace and Haseeb Hameed's nudge loops tamely into the air for Ben Brown to snap it up gleefully.

The Notts captain is on his way and Jack Haynes replaces him in the middle.

  5. Postpublished at 12:22 British Summer Time 17 May

    Somerset 93-2 v Kent

Tom Lammonby seizes on width from Beyers Swanepoel and drives through square on the off side for four.

He's on 43 after being dropped by Zak Crawley on one this morning.

George Garrett is out of the attack and Joey Evison is coming on.

  6. 'Mousley was trying to make amends'published at 12:21 British Summer Time 17 May

    Essex v Warwickshire 52-4

    Clive Eakin
    BBC CWR Sport

Three catches for Simon Harmer but that was a bit of a gift from Dan Mousley I'm afraid.

He felt he missed out on the previous delivery so it looks as if he was trying to make amends coming down the pitch meeting that.

He lost his head a little bit, if you miss out with a four, you miss out, you don't have to make amends with the next ball.

  7. Postpublished at 12:19 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 69-4 v Worcs

Dan Lawrence is playing with great flow and confidence.

He moves to 35 at nearly a run a ball, getting well forward to Matthew Waite and driving over the bower's head, down the ground for four.

How this game has changed in the last half hour.

  8. Postpublished at 12:17 British Summer Time 17 May

    Somerset 89-2 v Kent

Andy Umeed is forward to George Garrett and picks up his first four, driven powerfully down the ground.

Four more runs driven past Daniel Bell-Drummond down the ground.

  9. wicket

    WICKET: Mousley c & b Harmer 7published at 12:15 British Summer Time 17 May

    Essex v Warwickshire 52-4

Simon Harmer takes a catchImage source, Rex Features

Oh dear, oh dear - you don't play Simon Harmer like that. Not at Chelmsford, anyway.

Harmer's first ball is a bit loose and Dan Mousley's eyes appear to have lit up, because he gives the spinner the charge with the next one and drives it straight back to him.

A third catch this morning for Harmer and Warwickshire continue to struggle as Ed Barnard emerges from the changing room, a little earlier than he might have hoped.

  10. Postpublished at 12:14 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 65-4 v Worcs

Yadvinder Singh is very full outside off stump and a good dive from Ben Gibbon prevents an Ollie Pope drive from breaking through cover.

Pope is forward to the fourth ball, pushing it safely into point for a single.

Single to Dan Lawrence through the off side - and that's the 50 partnership for the fifth wicket in 58 balls.

A very welcome rear guard for the Surrey faithful after lurching to 15-4.

  11. 'A bit of gift of a wicket'published at 12:11 British Summer Time 17 May

    Somerset 75-2 v Kent

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Matt Renshaw with the on-drive, he didn't time it and it went straight to Beyers Swanepoel.

That was a bit of gift of a wicket.

A bright and breezy innings from Renshaw but was rather cut off in his prime.

  12. Division Two latestpublished at 12:09 British Summer Time 17 May

George Hill has swung the morning session towards Yorkshire with a couple of quick Sussex wickets.

The seamer got Tom Haines and Tom Alsop in successive overs to leave the hosts 64-3 at Hove.

Gloucestershire are off to a good start at Leicestershire on 60-0 - Cameron Bancroft is unbeaten on 29.

Derbyshire have also gone wicketless in the first hour or so against Northants - they're 40-0.

Glamorgan's in-form batter, Sam Northeast, is now in the middle in Cardiff after that Marnus Labuschagne wicket. The Welsh side are 48-1 against Middlesex.

  13. Postpublished at 12:07 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 63-4 v Worcs

A better second over from Yadvinder Singh, bar a slightly full fifth ball driven through cover by Ollie Pope for four on the front foot.

A change of bowling at the Vauxhall Road End now as Matthew Waite comes in for Joe Leach.

A consistent line on off stump and Dan Lawrence defends.

A brief pause in play here as the umpires have decided to change the ball.

  14. 50 up for Lancashirepublished at 12:07 British Summer Time 17 May

    Lancashire 54-0 v Durham

The Lancashire openers have now shared a 50 partnership, although the milestone came up in somewhat streaky fashion.

Keaton Jennings edges a rising delivery from Paul Coughlin that flies between wicketkeeper Ollie Robinson and first slip and runs away for four.

Jennings has 34, while Luke Wells is on 17 - with Ben Stokes about to begin his fourth over for Durham.

  15. wicket

WICKET Renshaw c Swanepoel b Garrett 40published at 12:06 British Summer Time 17 May

    Somerset 75-2 v Kent

    Soft dismissal.

A fairly innocuous ball from George Garrett which Matt Renshaw drives to Beyers Swanepoel at mid on.

Andy Umeed is in now and sees out the over.

  16. Postpublished at 12:04 British Summer Time 17 May

    Somerset 75-1 v Kent

    Definitely Somerset's hour.

Matt Renshaw plays Nathan Gilchrist defensively. The third ball is a half volley outside off but the opener plays and misses.

Renshaw keeps the strike with a single to long leg off the last ball.

  17. 'Labuschagne provides cameo'published at 12:01 British Summer Time 17 May

    Glamorgan 46-1 v Middlesex

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Australia star Marnus Labuschagne could only provide Glamorgan supporters with a cameo on his return as he fell for 23, caught behind off Tom Helm.

Labuschagne was asked to open, an unfamiliar role, and was quickly into his stride as he clipped his second ball from Ethan Bamber through mid-wicket.

He and Eddie Byrom took 16 off one over from Toby Roland-Jones, who had chosen to bowl but quickly withdrew himself from the attack.

Labuschagne faced 31 balls stroked five boundaries but the bowling change worked.

The pitch looks a patchy green but there was little sign of any pace to help the visitors’ attack, although the wicket also saw a drop in the scoring rate.

  18. 6 runs

A change of bowling here as Yadvinder Singh bowls his first spell for the Pears first team.

It's not the best of starts as his first ball is a knee high full toss driven through cover by Dan Lawrence for four.

He's down the track to the fourth ball, which is well back of a length and whipped through mid wicket for six!

13 runs off the over in all as Surrey pass 50 in the 12th.

  19. wicket

WICKET Labuschagne c Davies b Helm 23published at 11:57 British Summer Time 17 May

    Glamorgan 44-1 v Middlesex

    Oof, that's a loose shot.

Marnus Labuschagne swishes at a wide one from Middlesex seamer Tom Helm and gets a big snick through to the keeper.

23 and out for the Australia batter in his first innings of the season for Glamorgan.

  20. wicket

WICKET: Hain b Snater 0published at 11:52 British Summer Time 17 May

    Essex v Warwickshire 40-3

Two wickets in the over for Shane Snater!

Sam Hain departs without scoring, deciding to leave a ball that careers back at him and smashes into the stumps.

That double wicket maiden for Snater makes the Bears' decision to bat first look questionable all of a sudden.
