  1. wicket

WICKET: Clarke c Vince b Abbott 4published at 11:51 British Summer Time 17 May

    Notts 17-3 v Hants

Nottinghamshire are in big trouble this morning, with Joe Clarke now making his way back to the pavilion.

Clarke drives outside off stump at Kyle Abbott and the ball flies to Hampshire skipper James Vince at third slip.

That brings Tom Moores to the middle.

  2. Postpublished at 11:50 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 34-4 v Worcs

That's a nervous moment for Dan Lawrence, who edges a bumper from Joe Leach off the shoulder of the bat but the ball lands safely.

Batting looks like a real lottery here in swinging conditions, with bounce and movement off the seam on a greenish pitch.

There's nothing wrong with this shot against Nathan Smith at the other end though as he's forward and driving through cover for four.

  3. wicket

WICKET: Rhodes c Harmer b Snater 14published at 11:47 British Summer Time 17 May

    Essex v Warwickshire 40-2

Second Warwickshire wicket falls and it's safe hands Simon Harmer who completes another catch at second slip.

Shane Snater, bowling around the wicket, persuades Will Rhodes to nibble at the ball and Harmer dives forward to pouch it.

Sam Hain's the new man in for the Bears.

  4. 'Every move will be scrutinised'published at 11:46 British Summer Time 17 May

    Lancashire 35-0 v Durham

    Sam Drury
BBC Sport cricket writer at Stanley Park

As you'd expect, there is an increased media presence at Stanley Park thanks to Ben Stokes and the moment he removed his cap, the photographers sprung into action.

They've vacated the media tent to find the best vantage point to get snaps of the England skipper.

His every move will be scrutinised today, the merest suggestion of a limp would get tongues wagging but he gets through his first over comfortably enough.

  5. 6 runs

Renshaw on the chargepublished at 11:45 British Summer Time 17 May

    Somerset 57-1 v Kent

This game has been turned on its head within an hour.

George Garrett drops short and Matt Renshaw swings the ball over square leg for six.

The Australian is up to 30.

  6. 'Excellent from the Worcestershire seamers'published at 11:44 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 28-4 v Worcs

    Frank Watson
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

Three wickets this morning for Joe Leach and a brilliant start for Worcestershire.

Excellent stuff from the Worcestershire seamers this morning, Leach and Nathan Smith.

They won the toss and chose to bowl. We thought the pitch would offer a little bit of assistance and it has done but perhaps even they would not have hoped for quite this start.

  7. Postpublished at 11:42 British Summer Time 17 May

    Somerset 50-1 v Kent

Too much width from Nathan Gilchrist and Matt Renshaw is forward driving through cover for four.

George Garrett is stroked beautifully through the off side at the other end by Tom Lammonby for four and Somerset have reached 50 in the 12th over.

This is also the 50 partnership for the second wicket as Sean Dickson fell before a run had been scored.

  8. Stokes into the attackpublished at 11:40 British Summer Time 17 May

    Lancashire 25-0 v Durham

    Sam Drury
BBC Sport cricket writer at Stanley Park

Here we go. Ben Stokes removes his cap and hands it to the umpire.

He's on to replace Matthew Potts and gets a generous round of applause from the crowd in Blackpool.

Solid enough start, a full ball that Luke Wells digs out to mid-wicket for no run.

  9. Postpublished at 11:39 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 24-4 v Worcs

    Well, who saw this coming?

Dan Lawrence is well forward to Nathan Smith, trying to negate swing and we've seen plenty of that this morning from Joe Leach in particular.

Shot! Lawrence is forward on bended knee driving through cover for four.

  10. Postpublished at 11:37 British Summer Time 17 May

    Notts 8-2 v Hants

Keith Barker has finally given away a run! Four of them, in fact - with the final ball of his fifth over.

Barker pitches outside off stump and Haseeb Hameed gratefully cracks it to the cover boundary to double the Nottinghamshire total.

It still doesn't make pretty reading for the home side, with Mohammad Abbas removing both Ben Slater and Will Young for ducks. Hameed has five runs and Joe Clarke the other three.

  11. Postpublished at 11:36 British Summer Time 17 May

    Somerset 38-1 v Kent

This is quite a recovery for Somerset after the early loss of Sean Dickson.

Tom Lammonby is forward to Beyers Swanepoel, tucking a leg side ball away square for four and the run rate is nearly five an over.

  12. Stokes warming uppublished at 11:35 British Summer Time 17 May

    Lancashire 25-0 v Durham

    Sam Drury
BBC Sport cricket writer at Stanley Park

Durham are still searching for a breakthrough in Blackpool and it looks like it won't be too long before Ben Stokes is introduced.

Over the past couple of overs, the England captain has begun to warm-up at mid-off.

  13. Division Two latestpublished at 11:33 British Summer Time 17 May

Yorkshire have made the breakthrough after Sussex got a flying start with the bat at Hove.

Ben Coad has just removed Tom Clark, caught by Joe Root, to leave the hosts 42-1.

Marnus Labuschagne has hit a couple of early boundaries for Glamorgan against Middlesex. He's up to 15 with his side on 36-0.

Northants are 15-0 at Derbyshire, and Gloucestershire are off to a decent opening at Leicestershire on 36-0.

  14. wicket

WICKET Foakes c Jones b Leach 1published at 11:31 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 15-4 v Worcs

Goodness me. Four down. Joe Leach has three.

Ben Foakes is forward to defend and edges low to Rob Jones, diving at second slip.

    Dan Lawrence is in next.

  15. 'A fantastic start for Pears'published at 11:29 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 9-3 v Worcs

    Frank Watson
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

It's a great start for Worcestershire.

Ben Foakes is in a little bit earlier than expected and Worcestershire now, having got such a fantastic start will be keen to really try and press home an advantage.

I'm not wanting to sound too greedy or biased but i'm trying to put myself in their shoes.

If you get Surrey 9-3 you really are hoping that they're not going to really recover.

  16. wicket

WICKET: Yates c Harmer b Cook 8published at 11:27 British Summer Time 17 May

    Essex v Warwickshire 21-1

Breakthrough for Essex and it's Sam Cook who strikes.

He find the outside edge of Rob Yates and Simon Harmer gobbles up the catch at second slip.

Will Rhodes joins Alex Davies, his successor as Bears captain, at the crease.

  17. 'Locals not feeling optimistic'published at 11:26 British Summer Time 17 May

    Lancashire 18-0 v Durham

    Sam Drury
BBC Sport cricket writer at Stanley Park

It's fair to say the locals aren't feeling particularly optimistic after Lancashire's poor start to the season.

One supporter mentions he doesn't want to make too much noise because he doesn't want to put off the home batters.

"They don't need putting off at the moment," comes the instantaneous reply.

  18. wicket

WICKET: Smith b Leach 0published at 11:24 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 9-3 v Worcs

Joe Leach celebrates taking wicketImage source, Getty Images

    Joe Leach strikes again!

Jamie Smith goes for a four-ball duck and I'm not sure what he could've done about that ball.

It's an absolute beauty that curves in the air, beats the forward block and hits the top of off stump.

Can Ben Foakes steady the ship with England team-mate Ollie Pope?

  19. wicket

WICKET: Young c Middleton b Abbas 0published at 11:23 British Summer Time 17 May

    Notts 0-2 v Hants

What a start this is for Hampshire!

Two wickets gone and still no runs on the board.

Will Young is bamboozled by this one from Mohammad Abbas and the ball loops up off the shoulder of the bat to gully, where Fletcha Middleton takes a routine catch.

Quite a rebuilding job for Joe Clarke as he makes his way to the middle.

  20. wicket

WICKET: Sibley c Roderick b Leach 1published at 11:21 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 9-2 v Worcs

Now then... Both openers are gone inside the first half hour.

Joe Leach strikes this time as Dom Sibley is forward with a loose drive edged behind to keeper Gareth Roderick.

Time for Jamie Smith to have a bat.
