  1. Postpublished at 16:38 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 213 v Worcs 26-1

More metronomic bowling from Dan Worrall and again Jake Libby defends. He's faced 23 balls for no run to date.

Lovely shot from Kashif Ali at the other end, leaning into a drive to dispatch Kemar Roach past Jordan Clark at mid on for four.

One more run driven square off the back foot.

Roach gets the ball to move away from Jake Libby, who plays and misses.

Libby has his first run, pushing his 25th ball through mid on.

  2. Postpublished at 16:33 British Summer Time 17 May

    Somerset 292-4 v Kent

Good ball from Nathan Gilchrist, beating the bat of Tom Banton as he tries to defend on the front foot.

The ball runs away off the front pad for a leg bye.

Marcus O'Riordan is back into the Kent attack and Banton is forward, driving the ball past Ben Compton and through extra cover for four.

A single into the on side and James Rew gets two paddled to fine leg.

  3. 'Roderick had to play at it'published at 16:31 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 213 v Worcs 17-1

    Guy Swindells
    BBC Radio London

Gareth Roderick had to play at it, it was on or around on-stump, got the edge and a good diving, tumbling catch taken by Dan Lawrence at third slip.

  4. Yorkshire strugglingpublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 17 May

    Division Two latest

Joe Root is still there on 13, but Yorkshire have just lost a fourth wicket on the stroke of tea at Sussex. George Hill fell to Fynn Hudson-Prentice to leave the visitors 59-4 in reply to Sussex's 150 all out.

Gloucestershire's first-wicket partnership is still going at Leicestershire. Cameron Bancroft and Ben Charlesworth both have centuries in their 287-0. The Foxes have also conceded a staggering 51 extras.

Glamorgan's lower order is wagging against Middlesex. They've recovered well from 103-7 to 167-8.

Northants are also ticking along nicely at Derbyshire on 204-4 with George Bartlett 63 not out.

  5. Jennings the key dismissalpublished at 16:24 British Summer Time 17 May

Lancashire 225-4 v Durham - tea, day one

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Three wickets have fallen in the afternoon session, with Keaton Jennings no doubt the key dismissal from a Durham point of view.

Their former opener had been going along nicely as he formed a partnership of 76 for the second wicket with Josh Bohannon. But when Bohannon was caught on the leg side boundary for 39, to become Ben Stokes' first victim of the match, Jennings opted for caution.

That was in the 41st over and Jennings was on 87 from 113 balls. It wouldn't be until the 50th over that he reached three figures, another 24 balls later.

He was eventually out for 115, driving a ball from left-arm spinner Callum Parkinson to Durham skipper Scott Borthwick at mid-on. Jennings' loss was celebrated by the Durham players as if a big moment had been reached in the innings.

He now has 13 centuries in first-class cricket for Lancashire. He also managed 13 for his former club.

  7. 200 up for Warwickshirepublished at 16:22 British Summer Time 17 May

    Essex v Warwickshire 200-6

Warwickshire maintain their momentum in the first over after tea, which costs Shane Snater eight runs and takes the visitors' total to 200.

Four of those runs were byes, from a ball that shot right through Ed Barnard and beat the fielders too in its race to the boundary.

Barnard has 60, with Michael Burgess on 58.

  8. Postpublished at 16:22 British Summer Time 17 May

    Somerset 281-4 v Kent

Can Kent nip out a wicket before the second new ball?

    It's available in 12 overs.

Nathan Gilchrist is wide of off and Tom Banton steers the ball away to deep point for two.

Banton drives down the ground and that's a great one-handed stop by Kent captain, Daniel Bell-Drummond.

  9. Postpublished at 16:16 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 213 v Worcs 12-0

Four runs to Gareth Roderick, who is squared up by Kemar Roach and edges the ball just wide of third slip for four.

It's a little gloomy here at the Oval and we may not get all of the overs in tonight.

Jake Libby is forward to Dan Worrall, defending.

The fifth ball is a little wider and Libby leaves it.

He drives at the last ball without clearing the field. Another maiden.

  10. Tea at Blackpoolpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 17 May

    Lancashire 225-4 v Durham

Tom Bruce and George Balderson steer Lancashire through to the interval and, despite the loss of Keaton Jennings, the home side will be fairly happy with their progress.

Bruce has 15, with Balderson on five at the interval.

  11. Postpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 17 May

    Somerset 274-4 v Kent

George Garrett is still not on the field after leaving in the middle of an over at around 3pm this afternoon.

The reason is believed to be illness rather than injury.

Tom Banton gets a bit of luck with a drive against the bowling of Grant Stewart, resulting in the ball flying off an outside edge wide of slip for four.

That's the 100 partnership for the sixth wicket with James Rew, coming in 145 balls.

  12. Postpublished at 16:09 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 213 v Worcs 8-0

A bright start for Worcestershire and Gareth Roderick, who picks up successive fours in the first over.

The first is tucked away just in front of square leg and the second is driven to long on.

Dan Worrall will bowl from the Vauxhall End to Jake Libby, bowling a full length just outside off stump and gets one to jag away sharply, taken at chest height by the keeper.

    Maiden over.

  13. Play resumes at Tauntonpublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 17 May

    Somerset 265-4 v Kent

Runs have been flowing from the blades of Tom Banton and James Rew, who have put on 93 between them to date.

James Rew will face Nathan Gilchrist for the first ball in the session.

  14. 'Frustrating session for Essex'published at 16:03 British Summer Time 17 May

Essex v Warwickshire 192-6 - tea, day one

    Glenn Speller
    BBC Essex sport

A great session for the visitors and a frustrating one for Essex.

Ed Barnard and Michael Burgess have played positively and taken the runs on offer while Essex may well rue two dropped chances albeit difficult ones.

  15. Worcestershire begin their first inningspublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 213 v Worcs 0-0

The Pears won the toss and chose to bowl first and will be delighted to have dismissed Surrey in two sessions of play.

Can Jake Libby and Gareth Roderick get Worcestershire off to a good start with the bat against this potent Surrey attack?

    Let's find out.

Kemar Roach will bowl to Roderick first - from the Pavilion End.

41 overs left in the day's play if conditions allow.

  16. Tea at Trent Bridgepublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 17 May

    Notts 134-7 v Hants

That's a very decent afternoon session for Nottinghamshire - although in fairness, the bar wasn't terribly high after this morning's clatter of wickets.

Lyndon James has batted through the session to reach 52, sharing a partnership of 69 with Calvin Harrison before the latter fell to Liam Dawson.

Olly Stone remains at the crease alongside James and finishes the session with an inside edge for four off James Fuller.

  17. 'Yorkshire will not want to see the back of Root now'published at 16:02 British Summer Time 17 May

    Sussex 150 v Yorkshire 37-3

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

The Yorkshire and Pakistan skipper Shan Masood also has to depart. A second Yorkshire player to have gone for 14 following Adam Lyth and they're in a bit of trouble here.

They certainly would not want to see the back of Joe Root now between here and the tea break.

  18. 50 for Lyndon Jamespublished at 15:58 British Summer Time 17 May

    Notts 129-7 v Hants

Cheers from the Trent Bridge crowd as Lyndon James hits a boundary to bring up his half-century from 135 balls.

It's a second 50 of the campaign for the Nottinghamshire all-rounder, who has led their fightback this afternoon.

  19. Tea at Chelmsfordpublished at 15:55 British Summer Time 17 May

    Essex v Warwickshire 192-6

Michael Burgess batting for WarwickshireImage source, Rex Features

While the morning belonged to Essex, this session has been very much Warwickshire's.

Ed Barnard and Michael Burgess have put together an unbroken partnership of 88 for this seventh wicket and the visitors' only setback this afternoon was the departure of Jacob Bethell for 17.

Both Barnard and Burgess go to the break on 57.

  20. Jennings wicket opens the doorpublished at 15:52 British Summer Time 17 May

    Lancashire 214-4 v Durham

    Sam Drury
BBC Sport cricket writer at Stanley Park

Keaton Jennings departs to a well-deserved ovation from all around the ground in Blackpool.

He batted superbly, scoring at a decent lick and providing a constant at the start of this Lancashire innings.

With the skipper gone, though, this is a dangerous period for the Red Rose given their middle-order frailties in recent weeks.

No doubt, Durham will sense that this is their opportunity to turn the screw.
