At this stage of the game, you cannot be off the boundary.

This is where the wheels have come off in the past for Pakistan.

They don't know what to do, they don't have an answer.

  2. 6 runs

    NZ 283-4published at 47 overs

Landmark reached, more opportunities to unleash!

Latham follows-up reaching his century with back-to-back sixes on the leg side, smashing Shaheen flat and hard over mid-wicket then hitting a loftier one over square.

He closes the over with a single out to point, retaining the strike.

  3. 100 runs

100 for Tom Lathampublished at 46.3 overs

    NZ 270-4

    And there it is!

Tom Latham edges Shaheen Shah Afridi's opening delivery for four through third, then brings up his century two balls later with a single to long-on.

It's his eighth ODI hundred, and comes off 95 balls.

Brilliant from Tom Latham. He has the freedom to play these shots, it doesn't matter if he gets out.

His main job is to get as many runs on the board as possible.

That's Latham into the nineties, getting down to ramp Naseem Shah for four at the fine-leg boundary.

A second New Zealand century is on the cards.

Meanwhile Naseem is finished with figures of 2-63.

  6. 6 runs

    NZ 256-4published at 45 overs

    Launched!

Having whipped the first ball of Haris Rauf's over away for four through mid-wicket, Glenn Phillips takes on the penultimate delivery too, sending it down the ground for six, bringing up his side's 250.

He follows up with a swift two into the leg side - that's another 16-run over.

Tom Latham and Glenn Phillips will run hard between the wickets.

New Zealand will look to push the fielders with the extra man out. Latham will play good shots and Phillips has the ability to take a bowler down.

The Champions Trophy is a cut-throat tournament. If you drop a game you make it pretty tough.

The pressure is back on Pakistan. It's been one of those games which is here, there and everywhere.

  9. NZ 240-4published at 44 overs

Another sweep from Latham, takes the edge and runs away for another four!

That moves him to 87, while Abrar is finished with figures of 1-47, with 16 of those runs coming from this over.

New Zealand will be looking to get as close to 300 as they can.

It's only going to get easy under the lights. We have seen some pretty big scores here.

Six and a four on the sweep!

Tom Latham slogs Abrar Ahmed away over the boundary, then crosses the ropes again as the Pakistan spinner sends down another leg side delivery.

Ah, that one's over the ropes!

Glenn Phillips has his first boundary, striking Khushdil Shah's penultimate delivery cleanly down the ground for six.

There's been a turnaround with Abrar Ahmed. Watching him a few months ago, he looked short of confidence and there was speculation about his health.

He has managed to turn it around quickly. It will make the selectors feel good for persevering with him.

  14. NZ 215-4published at 42 overs

And now Abrar Ahmed turns the screw a little, conceding just three singles from his ninth over.

New Zealand don't need to be too concerned yet, but they will need to be thinking about boundaries soon.

  15. NZ 212-4published at 41 overs

Back comes Khushdil Shah, and he rattles through an over that goes for five runs.

Phillips finds two of them with some sharp running having pushed the ball out to the square leg boundary.

No boundary yet though for the typically explosive New Zealand batter.

My personal favourite bespectacled cricketer was Kent's Derek Aslett. Really should have played for England.

The rest of Naseem Shah's ninth over goes better for Pakistan, with just three more runs coming off it.

Ten overs to go - can New Zealand get up to around 275-280?

It's a sign that Tom Latham understands it's time to go.

New Zealand have wickets in hand and he's decided to put the foot down.
