Brilliant bit of bowling from Nonkululeko Mlaba.

Ailsa Lister come down the wicket and it has turned past the outside edge and clipped the off-stump.

South Africa are well on top.

    Lister b Mlaba 12 (Sco 38-4)

Really good from Mlaba that. Like really, really good.

Despite being driven by Lister earlier in the over, she is happy to still give the ball some hang time, and ends up making the batter look a little silly. Make no mistake, though - that was brilliant bowling.

  3. Sco 38-3published at 6.3 overs

Ohhhhh that's nice from Ailsa Lister. Nonkululeko Mlaba is into the action and Lister smashes her past cover.

  4. Sco 34-3published at 6 overs

The last over of the powerplay starts and ends with a boundary. The first one went just over Khaka on the 45, while the second one went through her hands. But the damage was done in the middle - Scotland skipper Kathryn Bryce's game is over.

Run rate required is up to 9.5.

  5. wicket

    Kathryn Bryce c & b Tryon 7 (Sco 30-3)

What does for one Bryce sister also does for the other. The ball sticks in the wicket a tad and a leading edge gives Chloe Tryon the easiest of return catches.

Scotland are now three wickets down in the powerplay. Very few sides win games from that position.

  6. Sco 29-2published at 5.1 overs

Tryon has ball in hand again and gets her line wrong. Nice sweep for four by Kathryn Bryce.

I really like the way Ailsa Lister has approached this innings. There will be Scottish fans who enjoy that.

On the other hand, it has been great too see South Africa bat with aggression so early on - they know their net run-rate will be so important.

  8. Sco 25-2published at 5 overs

Ailsa Lister looking to move the momentum dial here. Gets away with one in the last ball of the over, though. A shimmy down the pitch ends in a chip that goes just over Nadine de Klerk at mid-on.

  9. Sco 23-2published at 4.3 overs

Marizanne Kapp back into the attack for South Africa.

She gives Ailsa Lister a little width and the batter goes up and over cover. Four much-needed runs for Scotland.

  10. Sco 18-2published at 4 overs

Scotland need 149 from 96 balls. An awful lot perched on Kathryn Bryce's shoulders right now.

I thought the ball may have fallen short of Tazmin Brits. She didn't take a step forward, but she's such a good fielder.

    Horley c Brits b Khaka 6 (Sco 16-2)

Ouch. Just what Scotland didn't need. A simple chipped catch to extra cover means both openers have fallen in six deliveries. An already uphill struggle is quickly becoming insurmountable for the Scots.

  13. Sco 15-1published at 3 overs

South Africa will be delighted with this start. Scotland less so.

Direct hits are always (well, at least usually) close but that one was not quite close enough. Saskia Horley comfortably made her ground.

Chloe Tryon gets the breakthrough and I'm surprised to see her bowl so early on.

    Sarah Bryce will be disappointed.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 2.5 overs

    Sarah Bryce c & b Tryon 5 (Sco 14-1)

The change of bowling works almost immediately. Sarah Bryce was looking exhausted after 20 overs behind the stumps and that was a slightly tired shot. It was a simple return catch for Chloe Tryon.

Out goes one Bryce, and in comes another. Kathryn is now at the crease.

  17. Sco 8-0published at 2 overs

Change of bowler. Kapp is off and Chloe Tryon's left arm spin is into the attack.

Feels like an odd choice - Saskia Horley is significantly better (according to the numbers) against spin than she is against seam.

  18. Sco 8-0published at 2 overs

Tidy start from Khaka. Not quite the flyer Scotland were after...yet.

It's very effective and consistent bowling from Ayabonga Khaka.

  20. Sco 5-0published at 1 over

Just that Bryce boundary and a single from that opening over. Little bit of swing for Kapp, too - not much of that on offer when Scotland were bowling.

Ayabonga Khaka to bowl over number two.
