    Scotland are showing some fight.

Maqsood has gone wicketless, but she has bowled really nicely - she's has done a really good job for her team.

They have big four overs coming up.

  2. SA 132-3published at 16 overs

No further boundaries, but it still concedes 10 as Kapp and Luus tick off another productive over.

It is also testament to Kapp's fitness that she is pushing to run ones and twos hard alongside the regular boundaries.

  3. SA 127-3published at 15.2 overs

    Full toss, four more.

You cannot give Marizanne Kapp freebies like that.

Abtaha Maqsood shakes her head in frustration with herself.

  4. SA 122-3published at 15 overs

Former captain Sune Luus joins Marizanne Kapp in the middle.

The latter has 22 from just 13 balls so she's likely to be the aggressor in this experienced partnership with five overs to go.

Kathryn Bryce has already taken a good catch.

This time she's out on the boundary and she gives a sigh of relief as she catches it off her thighs!

A good innings from Tazmin Brits.

    Brits c K Bryce b Bell 43 (SA 119-3)

Kathryn Bryce clings on to another as Tazmin Brits' excellent innings comes to an end.

Brits was starting to look a little fatigued, and this is a tired shot. You can't really blame her when it's a scorching 36 degrees in Dubai today and she'd been batting aggressively for 14 overs.

The opener tries to launch Olivia Bell's leg-spin down the ground but doesn't time it, and skipper Bryce holds on at long-off for her second catch.

  7. Postpublished at 12:00 British Summer Time 9 October

Earlier, Anneke Bosch's time at the crease was short-lived as she managed just 11 from 13 balls.

Scotland skipper, Kathryn Bryce had the safe hands which hasn't always been the case for her side today with two drops so far.

  8. SA 118-2published at 14 overs

    Brits 43, Kapp 20

    Yeah, don't bowl there.

Darcey Carter floats one up invitingly outside Marizanne Kapp's off stump, and the all-rounder gratefully accepts the gift by threading it through the covers for four.

Kapp is setting South Africa up for a big finish here.

This has been the most proactive batting performance in this tournament so far.

  10. SA 108-2published at 13 overs

The wicket of Anneke Bosch hasn't eased the pressure on Scotland at all, instead making their job actually more difficult because the world-class Marizanne Kapp is in the middle.

She skips down the pitch to Abtaha Maqsood and drives wonderfully for back-to-back fours.

    12 from the over.

  11. Postpublished at 11:52 British Summer Time 9 October

Opening batter Tazmin Brits is still at the crease for South Africa.

Scotland's spinner Katherine Fraser hasn't had much luck against Brits as she was thumped for six earlier.

  12. SA 96-2published at 12 overs

Unfortunately for Scotland, Darcey Carter can't make the most of the pressure built by the wicket.

She offers Tazmin Brits a full toss to whack through mid-wicket for four.

It's another good catch from Scotland.

Kathryn Bryce had to back pedal and judge that high ball really well - she's done it spectacularly.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 11. overs

    Bosch c K Bryce b Carter 11 (SA 89-2)

Darcey Carter strikes with her first ball!

A bit of flight tempts Anneke Bosch into the big shot, with the pressure building on her with just 11 from 13 balls to her name. It skews high off a leading edge and Kathryn Bryce takes a steady catch at mid-off.

  15. SA 89-1published at 11 overs

Tazmin Brits continues to charge, using her feet well to Olivia Bell's leg-spin and driving the ball gloriously through the covers for four more.

South Africa still have plenty of firepower to come with Marizanne Kapp, Chloe Tryon and Annerie Dercksen so they are in a brilliant position to set an imposing total.

The fittest side is the side which is probably going to win or certainly get to the semi-finals in this World Cup.

That is what we're seeing with Australia. I don't think they'll bring the boundary in for the semi-final.

Boundary hitting has become such a topic in women's cricket - we want to be able to see that on a world stage.

  17. Postpublished at 11:42 British Summer Time 9 October

Just the one wicket for Scotland so far, but it was a very impressive one.

  18. 6 runs

    SA 83-1published at 10 overs

    Huge!

Tazmin Brits has a licence to lead this partnership now that Laura Wolvaardt is out, and she responds well to the responsibility by slamming Katherine Fraser over her head for an almighty six.

The first half of the innings has been all South Africa.

Dropped! It was thrashed back at Maqsood. There was no reaction time and she did well to get hands to it.

    Bosch survives.

  20. dropped catch

Bosch dropped on 3published at 9 overs

    SA 70-1

    Another put down.

Anneke Bosch tries to keep the momentum going after the Wolvaardt wicket, slamming one straight back to Abtaha Maqsood. They're never easy in your follow-through, but she got both hands around it.
