  1. Sco 5-0published at 0.4 overs

Ideal start for Sarah Bryce. Kapp gets both line and length wrong and all Bryce needs to do is turn it round the corner. Rarely does Kapp give freebies, but that was definitely one.

Right, here we go again. Quick break and the players are en-route to the middle. A fist bump between Saskia Horley and Sarah Bryce as they make their way out. They need a flyer here.

Marizanne Kapp has the new ball in hand for South Africa.

    Scotland need 167 to win.

Daniel, as he so often does, has hit the nail on the head there.

Remember South Africa are still licking wounds a little after defeat to England 48-hours ago. Claiming the points here will help the healing process.

167 is the target for Scotland.

You would think they're unlikely to get there because of the quality of South Africa and the inexperience of Scotland.

Thanks Ffion Wynne. I can relate to Sarah Bryce - I've just spent 20 overs sat next to an electric heater and now have a second-innings of my own to build.

Just flicking back through Scotland's scores in this tournament so far and, well, perhaps best not to go there. Let's put it this way: if Scotland are to claim victory here, it will be, by some margin, their top total. Difficult...but not impossible.

That'll take some chasing from Scotland. Keep an eye on Sarah Bryce, too, who has just kept for 20 overs in 36 degree heat and will now have to come out and open the batting.

Here's Sam Dalling to take you through the second innings.

  7. SA 166-5published at 20 overs

A formidable total set by South Africa.

Three batters passed 40 in good time, but they didn't finish explosively when 170 or 180 looked on the cards at one stage.

Still, a tough chase coming up for Scotland. They need 167 to win their first game of the World Cup.

  8. SA 165-5published at 19.5 overs

    Three dots!

Brilliant from Kathryn Bryce, shocking from Annerie Dercksen, who is trying to just whack everything out of the ground.

  9. SAA 164-5published at 19.1 overs

Sune Luus paddle-sweeps the first ball for four, and this is now the highest total of the World Cup so far.

    Tryon c Horley b Slater 2 (SA 160-5)

    No mistake this time.

Chloe Tryon is known as South Africa's 'finisher', but she can't rise to the challenge today. She tries to launch Rachel Slater over long-on but it's a long boundary, and Saskia Horley takes a comfortable catch.

Kathryn Bryce will bowl the final over.

  11. Not outpublished at 18.5 overs

It took a while, but eventually the third umpire gets through all the technology and rules it out.

Scotland never seemed particularly confident anyway.

  12. Scotland reviewpublished at 18.5 overs

    Now then.

Chloe Tryon misses a sweep and is pinned on the pad.

Looks to be heading down leg, but with only one over to go, Scotland fancy a second look.

  13. SA 160-4published at 18.3 overs

Sarah Bryce looks absolutely seething as she misses a full delivery from Rachel Slater that skids under her gloves and trickles away for four byes.

    Precious runs.

  14. SA 152-4published at 18 overs

South Africa bring up their 150 with a streaky edge as Sune Luus flashes hard outside off stump for four runs.

Nothing Sarah Bryce could've done about that one behind the stumps.

Scotland really needed that wicket as Kapp was looking menacing.

It has been a funny fielding innings.

The Scottish girls have taken some good catches, but have dropped an absolute sitter as well.

When Marizanne Kapp gets out she likes to have a word hit the batter coming in. I don't know if that's going to be helpful or not!

Chloe Tryon has not been in the best of form recently, but she's an entertaining batter when she gets it right.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 17.4 overs

    Kapp c Carter b K Bryce 43 (SA 147-4)

That's how you do it! Scotland's captain strikes with a crucial wicket.

A low full toss is drilled to Darcey Carter at point, who doesn't have much time to think but clings on.

It seems that no South Africa batter fancies a half-century today. Kapp is the third to fall in the 40s.

  18. SA 147-3published at 17.2 overs

    And again!

Once more, Marizanne Kapp gets down on one knee and manipulates the ball behind square leg for a boundary.

    Where do you bowl?!

That's the 16th four in this innings. The most we have seen in this tournament.

  20. SA 141-3published at 17 overs

    Lovely!

Marizanne Kapp continues to charge, shuffling across her crease and lap-sweeping over her shoulder for four.

She's showing off today, scoring all around the ground.
