  1. Close of play at Leicesterpublished at 17:42 British Summer Time

    Leicestershire 270-4 v Gloucestershire 482

Stevie Eskinazi blocks out Graeme van Buuren's final ball of the day and Leicestershire reach stumps 212 in arrears against Gloucestershire at Grace Road.

They have fought back well with the bat, having been reduced to 86-3 after the visitors had added 100 to their overnight 382-7.

Lewis Hill and Shan Masood shared 152 for the fourth wicket before the former was caught behind for 88.

Masood is 80 not out and he and Eskinazi - both playing their first Championship games of the season for the club - will look to build another sizeable stand on day three.

  3. Postpublished at 17:41 British Summer Time

    Worcs 182 & 88-5 v Notts 207

Tidy bowling from Freddie McCann, who has also had a more than useful game with the bat and in the slips.

Just a couple singles from a well-directed over and fellow spinner Liam Patterson-White will continue at the other end.

Gareth Roderick is defending down the ground and gets away with a play and miss to end the over.

  4. Postpublished at 17:37 British Summer Time

    Essex 306-3 v Durham 333

Two overs remain in the day and Matt Critchley is on 93* and will retain strike.

Will he try to get it over and done with?

His side are only 27 behind.

  5. Postpublished at 17:37 British Summer Time

    Sussex 122 & 18-0 v Hants 226 & 173

A bit of width from Kyle Abbott and Tom Haines drives through cover for four.

Abbott is close to finding the outside edge when he adjusts his line but Haines survives.

  6. Close of play at Tauntonpublished at 17:37 British Summer Time

    Somerset 391-6 v Yorkshire

Bad light means no further play will be possible at Taunton, following a rain interruption earlier in the day.

But it has been a good one for Somerset, with Tom Abell's superb 130 pushing their total on towards 400.

With so much time lost in the game, they must hope only one innings will be needed and they can bowl out Yorkshire twice.

But the weather may have other ideas.

  7. Postpublished at 17:35 British Summer Time

    Surrey 246 & 161-1 v Warwickshire 248

Ollie Pope's feet turn to stone and he makes a real hash of a cut shot on the stretch to a short, wide one from Ollie Hannon-Dalby, and keeper Alex Davies and the slips go up in celebration, but Pope doesn't think he got anything on it, OHD doesn't look convinced either, in truth, and Pope remains on 39*.

  8. Postpublished at 17:34 British Summer Time

    Sussex 122 & 11-0 v Hants 226 & 173

A short mid-wicket comes in for Keith Barker and Dan Hughes drives to mid off for no run.

He gets a single nudged to fine leg.

Still tense at Hove but dare we say it, the pitch is a bit more predictable.

  9. 'Bears will be keen to get off'published at 17:34 British Summer Time

    Surrey 246 & 160-1 v Warwickshire 248

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

Warwickshire will be quite keen to get off because it's been a difficult afternoon having started with high hopes.

It didn't take long for Surrey to feel like they were in charge.

Warwickshire were doing all the right things but they just couldn't find any of the assistance that was around earlier in the match.

  10. Postpublished at 17:30 British Summer Time

    Worcs 182 & 78-5 v Notts 207

Freddie McCann is going to have a bowl for the first time in the game.

He bowls a few off breaks and has eight first class wickets in his career to date.

Gareth Roderick goes back and across and sprints a very tight single to leg.

    53 ahead.

  11. 300 up for Essexpublished at 17:28 British Summer Time

    Essex 302-3 v Durham 333

Matt Critchley picks up a short one from Ben Raine and cracks it sweetly through mid-wicket for his 12th four which takes him to 90* and also secures a second batting point for the hosts.

The deficit is down to 32 to boot.

Four overs and change left in the day. Will Critchley want to get it done before stumps? I have my suspicions that he will...

  12. MIDDLESEX ALL OUTpublished at 91.1 overs

    Middlesex 298 v Derbyshire 283

    Ben AitchisonImage source, Rex Features

Only one batting point for Middlesex as Toby Roland-Jones is lbw to Ben Aitchison as he tries to whip the paceman through the leg-side.

That is good news for leaders Leicestershire, whose 'points needed for promotion' total will come down.

Aitchison finishes with 3-35 and the deficit for Derbyshire is only 15 runs.

Leus du Plooy was the star of the Middlesex innings with 105 against his former club.

  13. Postpublished at 17:27 British Summer Time

    Sussex 122 & 4-0 v Hants 226 & 173

Excellent from Kyle Abbott. brisk, steep bounce and movement into the bat from outside off but Tom Haines survives the over.

Keith Barker will share the new ball and Dan Hughes drives a full ball to long off for four.

  14. Bad light stops play at Tauntonpublished at 118.3 overs

    Somerset 391-6 v Yorkshire

Just three balls after Tom Abell's dismissal, the umpires decide the light isn't good enough for play to continue.

There are 13.3 overs still to be bowled in the day, but will there be any more action?

Kasey Aldridge is 29 not out and Ben Green has yet to score.

  15. Postpublished at 17:25 British Summer Time

    Surrey 246 & 155-1 v Warwickshire 248

Lovely sweep from Dom Sibley off Rob Yates sends a flock of pigeons scattering on its way to the rope, takes him to 59* and the Surrey lead past 150.

Warwickshire are being ground into the SE11 dust, rather.

  16. Postpublished at 17:25 British Summer Time

    Worcs 182 & 73-5 v Notts 207

Ethan Brookes must have been close to LBW via a missed sweep off Liam Patterson-White but the umpire says not.

Leg side maybe? Didn't look like he hit it.

Lyndon James is into his sixth over at the other end and Gareth Roderick drives with a thick edge to backward point for two.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 118 overs

    Abell c Revis b Bess 130 (Somerset 390-6 v Yorks)

A great innings comes to an end as Tom Abell tries a slog sweep off Dom Bess and holes out at deep mid-wicket.

It's the first wicket of the innings for ex-Somerset spin bowler Dom Bess and provides Yorkshire with momentary relief after a stand of 92 in 20 overs between Abell and Kasey Aldridge.

  18. 'Pears are up against it now'published at 17:23 British Summer Time

    Worcs 182 & 73-5 v Notts 207

    Frank Watson
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

Worcestershire are absolutely up against it now and Notts have got a real chance here of getting into a position by the end of day two which is unassailable.

They really, really have turned it on for captain Haseeb Hameed and coach Peter Moores.

  19. Chase is on at Hovepublished at 17:22 British Summer Time

    Sussex 122 & 0-0 v Hants 226 & 173

Tom Haines and Daniel Hughes are ready.

If Sussex get there it will be the highest innings score of the game.

Haines will face Kyle Abbott to start the chase.

  20. Division Two updatepublished at 17:21 British Summer Time

Another wicket has gone at Lord's with Zafar Gohar lbw to Ben Aitchison for 16 and Middlesex are 292-8, nine runs ahead against Derbyshire.

The Kent openers are still together at the start of their second innings - they are 39-0 against Lancashire, a lead of 48.

Ben Dawkins has opened with Jaydn Denly with Ben Compton still feeling the effects of the collision yesterday with Tawanda Muyeye which has seen the latter ruled out of the remainder of this match, with Jaydn's uncle Joe set to replace him in the line-up here.
