  1. Postpublished at 17:20 British Summer Time

    Essex 290-3 v Durham 333

Painful one for Dean Elgar as Ben Raine gets the fresh cherry to spit up at him and an inside edge takes the ball into the very top of his thigh pad.

That'll sting in the morning. Though the fact he's on 132* will help ease that pain...

Essex are 10 runs away from a second batting point.

  2. New ball takenpublished at 17:17 British Summer Time

    Essex 289-3 v Durham

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Durham have taken the new ball and they need to use it well because Essex are only 44 behind now.

Dean Elgar's century is his second in a row here against Durham. He's now on 132, while Matt Critchley is looking to join him on three figures and is now on 82. Critchley already has a century and seven half centuries against the visitors.

The introduction of the new ball yesterday did Durham no favours, with Jamie Porter taking three quick wickets in the final session. Durham need something similar to go in their favour today.

But a bonus pount is only runs away and the arrival of it will take Essex level on points with Sussex on 130!

for Dom Sibleypublished at 17:17 British Summer Time

    Surrey 246 & 144-1 v Warwickshire 248

Rob Yates returns to the attack with some occasional off-spin, Dom Sibley brings up the 50-stand with Ollie Pope with a single off the first ball and returns to the strike for the fifth ball and picks up another to bring up his half-century - his 10th of the season.

    Five fours and 122 balls.

Surrey's lead is 142. 12 overs remain in the day.

WICKETpublished at 17:16 British Summer Time

    D'Oliveira b James 6 (Worcs 182 & 68-5 v Notts 207)

Spectacular strike from Lyndon James, who beats the Worcestershire captain with an off cutter that come in back of a length to hit middle and off.

Brett D'Oliveira gone for a single digit score.

Ethan Brooks is in next and the Pears only lead by 43.

  5. 50 runs

50 for Saif Zaibpublished at 17:15 British Summer Time

    Glamorgan 467 v Northants 235-3

He's been in the runs for much of the season and this is a crucial rearguard in the face of a mountain of Glamorgan runs.

Just 57 balls with nine fours - and he gets the milestone driving Zain ul-Hassan with a thick edge to third man for two.

  6. Hampshire all out in bizarre fashionpublished at 17:12 British Summer Time

    Sussex 122 v Hants 226 & 173

Out LBW! Or is it? James Fuller was pinned in front of the stumps by Jack Carson but the umpire after raising his finger has ruled no ball.

No matter for Sussex. James Fuller lofts a sweep to Tom Alsop at deep square!

It appears the previous delivery was not out because the bowler brushed the bails off the non-striker's end in his delivery.

So it is in fact a "dead" ball and cannot be out.

That is rare. A collector's item.

A precious 49 for Fuller and four wickets each for Jaydev Unadkat and James Coles.

The Sussex target is a hefty 278, though there are signs that the pitch has eased a little in the last hour with a bit less "sticky" bounce and movement.

  7. Postpublished at 17:10 British Summer Time

    Essex 282-3 v Durham 333

Durham have stemmed the flow of runs slightly, but Essex are still 18 short of a second batting point with more than eight overs remaining in the day.

Matt Critchley has 80* from 109 balls with Dean Elgar on a season's best 127* and has been at the crease for two minutes longer than five hours.

  8. Postpublished at 17:08 British Summer Time

    Surrey 246 & 138-1 v Warwickshire 248

Ollie Pope fancies emulating Rory Burns and making it back-to-back half-centuries in this match, you can sense it.

He crouches to cut a drag down from Ed Barnard away past point for a boundary to move to 24, runs a couple from the next ball and then carves away another boundary to the deep cover rope to make it to 30* from 32 balls.

Surrey's lead is 136 with 14 overs and change remaining in the day.

Du Plooy lbw Reece 105 (Middx 290-7 v Derbys 283)

All over for Leus du Plooy who plays all around a straight one from left-armer Luis Reece and is leg before.

  11. Postpublished at 17:04 British Summer Time

    Sussex 122 v Hants 226 & 171-9

James Fuller is on 49 and thinks he has a chance for more off Ollie Robinson but he misses a pull shot and takes a ball into the hip. Ow!

James Coles is back on at the Sea End in place of Jack Carson.

Three close catchers in for Eddie Jack who defends.

  12. 'More about keeping wickets in hand for Foxes'published at 17:03 British Summer Time

    Leics 246-4 v Glos 482

    Ed Seabourne
    Commentator on BBC Radio Bristol

It's less really about runs scoring you'd think for the remaining overs for Leicestershire and more about keeping those wickets in hand and ensuring that Gloucestershire don't have more scalps to take with them into the dressing room overnight.

  13. Postpublished at 17:01 British Summer Time

    Essex 277-3 v Durham 333

Very little jeopardy in this one as Dean Elgar reaches 125* and Matt Critchley closes in on a century of his own, now 22 runs shy.

Essex are 56 runs in arrears but have 32 overs in which to chase bonus points tonight, and potentially in the morning, weather permitting.

The new ball is due in two overs, which feels like a pivotal moment for any hopes Durham have in this match.

  14. Postpublished at 17:00 British Summer Time

    Worcs 182 & 61-3 v Notts 207

Brett D'Oliveira has avoided the king pair and drives Lyndon James through point for three to move on to four.

Leus du Plooy tucks Ben Aitchison off his hip for a single, reaches his century from 171 balls and his side have the lead at Lord's.

It is the second hundred of the season for du Plooy and 23rd of his first-class career.

  16. Postpublished at 58 overs

    Leics 243-4 v Glos 482

Steve Eskinazi has joined Leicestershire from Middlesex on loan ahead of a permanent move this winter.

Eager to impress, he is offered a leg-stump full toss by Josh Shaw and collects an easy first four runs for his new club.

  17. Postpublished at 16:58 British Summer Time

    Sussex 122 v Hants 226 & 167-9

The Hampshire lead is 271 and that is a lot on this wicket.

Eddie Jack had been looking comfortable in defence but he has to jab the bat down sharply to keep out a quicker ball, which is edged in front of slip.

Over bowled and Ollie Robinson is coming back on.

  18. 'A top drawer catch from McCann'published at 16:55 British Summer Time

    Worcs 182 & 54-3 v Notts 207

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

A really, really top drawer catch at second slip. Wonderful work by Freddie McCann.

Lyndon James has a wicket but he can offer all the thanks in the world to McCann, snaring his second catch of the session and it's a really good one.

  19. Postpublished at 16:52 British Summer Time

    Essex 271-3 v Durham 333

Short and wide from Colin Ackermann, the offie, and Matt Critchley gives it the treatment, cutting to the backward point boundary to move to 76*.

The deficit is 62 with 14 overs left for the hosts to try to close the gap.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:52 British Summer Time

    Lategan c McCann b James 8 (Worcs 182 & 54-3 v Notts 207)

Lyndon James strikes and it's another fine diving catch at second slip from Freddie McCann.

Dan Lategan miscues a drive and McCann dives sharply to his left to pluck the ball above the turf.

Brett D'Oliveira begins his innings on a king pair.
