Here's a question a few of you have asked, so we consulted the official rules.

The standard height from the floor to the bullseye on the dartboard is 5 feet 8 inches (1.72m), while the oche (distance between the front of the board and the toeline) should measure 7ft 9.25 ins.

This is a long tournament and players can put themselves into form. When you've got the ceiling and have won the trophies that Gerwyn Price has then you can win the tournament.

People haven't been talking about him but they will if he makes the quarter-finals.

  16. What is a nine-darter?published at 20:57 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

Darts is one of the few sports that can measure perfection; snooker has the 147 maximum break, golf has the hole-in-one, darts has the nine-dart finish.

The fewest number of darts required to finish a standard leg of 501 points is nine.

There are several ways to complete a nine-dart finish, the most common being two visits of 180 followed by a 141 checkout.

The most recent nine-darter at the PDC World Championship was earlier on Friday by Australia's Damon Heta against Luke Woodhouse. He went on to lose, though.

It was the second of this year's tournament after Christian Kist's (pictured above) on 17 December.

There is a method of completing a nine-darter with three identical visits of 167 - treble 20, treble 19, bull - although that is usually saved for the exhibition circuit rather than in tournament play!

From a position of dominance, Gerwyn Price manages to lose the leg.

Not this time for Gerwyn Price!

Double 12 gives him the break of throw and he's a leg away from taking the set.
