    Evans 1-1 Owen (1-0)

Ricky Evans can't believe it as a dart into the bed of treble 20 just falls out early in the leg.

It doesn't prove too costly though as he rattles one into the double 16 to hold.

Robert Owen had put the pressure on with a 180 just beforehand and Evans let out a shout of delight after hitting his double, as if to show he was unfazed by it.

Good start to the set for Robert Owen as he bangs in his first 180 of the night.

He follows it up with a 140 and is just the wrong side of the wire for a 116 out.

Ricky Evans is lagging well behind so even four misses at double 10 don't prove costly. A hold for the Welshman.

There's going to be nothing stable about this game, it will be all over the shop. That is just how we want it and expect it.

If you're reading this, our guess is you probably think it is - and while opinion differs, you'd be right.

Darts has been officially recognised as a sport by all of the sports councils in the United Kingdom.

Sport England recognised darts as a sporting activity in March 2005 and Sport Wales, Sport Northern Ireland and Sport Scotland followed suit.

Hit the thumbs if you agree, or disagree.

Ricky Evans is flying - but Robert Owen is doing his best to stay with him.

Evans' second 180 in the opening set leaves him needing 80 but a dart at tops goes high and the set is still alive.

That gives Owen his chance he takes out 78 in two darts to pull a leg back.

Here we go then. We've got one last match in the third round and the players are on their to the stage.

A fairly low key entrance from Wales' Robert Owen, who wanders up and then gives the crowd a double thumbs up.

As for Ricky Evans... well, I don't think he knows the meaning of low key. We walks on to Madonna's Like A Prayer.

The fans love it and Evans is loving every minute himself as he asks them to raise the volume.

    Evans v Owen

Ricky Evans talking to Sky Sports: "The goal was to be here after Christmas, but I still think I've got a couple of gears. I've watched the game against Dave Chisnall back because I wanted to live it back how everyone experienced it, but I still feel I have more gears and hopefully they come out tonight.

"The belief is always there but I always get knocked back a bit and it goes. I am that happy, positive train and while I am still in the tournament I can dream of winning that trophy.

"Both of us are probably laughing, who would have expected us to be facing each other in this round. It's brilliant. We probably both think we can win and if we both turn up it could be another classic."
