  1. 'One of the games of the season'published at 21:28 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    FT: Newcastle 3-3 Liverpool

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

It think 3-3 is a fair result. Both Newcastle and Liverpool have given a lot here. It's been a really good game, one of the best I've seen this season.

We have seen it ebb and flow. Alexander Isak was superb for Newcastle, but Mohamed Salah has been special in this second half. Both sides will be happy with the point in the end.

    FT: Newcastle 3-3 Liverpool

Liverpool's lead has been trimmed but it's still big.

They lead Chelsea and Arsenal by seven points as it stands, with Manchester City two further back.

Another really well worked corner from Arsenal. They've now scored 21 goals from corners since the start of last season.

Top, top save from Brentford keeper Mark Flekken who tips a downward Ollie Watkins header round the post.

Aston Villa are pushing for a fourth.

That is the goal Arsenal needed. It is all in the delivery from Declan Rice. The game has opened right up.

This is why Arsenal need set-pieces as they are so effective.

    Jurrien Timber

Declan Rice's corner from the left is perfect, Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber had been standing near the goalline, peeled away and got to the ball with a near post header and that's enough to send it into the net.

Aston Villa have started the second half much better, and John McGinn gets to a low Morgan Rogers cross but volleys wide.

    Man City 3-0 Nottingham Forest

    Jen Beattie
Former Scotland and Man City defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Morato was in the right place at the right time there. He got a crucial foot in at the back post and if he hadn't Erling Haaland was there at the back post to tap in the fourth.

An injury scare for United as Matthijs de Ligt needs treatment but then tries to run it off, hobbling up the touchline as he does so.

Chelsea want even more. Malo Gusto gets in behind and his cross/shot cannons off the far post.

The flag then goes up. Wouldn't have counted.
