    Arsenal 1-0 Manchester United

Arsenal have scored from one corner and almost get a second. This time Manchester United's Joshua Zirkzee, who had only just come on for the away side, deflects the ball goalwards but his blushes are spared by Manuel Ugarte's vital clearance.

Across the first 10 minutes of the second half Brentford had just 9.4% of possession. They did score one unanswered goal though.

I'll take the draw, but one of the worst ref performances in a long time. Both teams let down by poor decisions and uneven carding of players. Can't criticise them, yet they are allowed to officiate like this.

Replacing Mount with Rashford is like changing a car's flat tyre with one that's got no tread left. It's a slight improvement, but it's not great.

    Arsenal 1-0 Manchester United

No messing about from Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim as he makes a triple change.

On come Marcus Rashford, Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro for his debut after he joined Manchester United from Lille in the summer in a deal worth 62m euros (£52.18m), with 8m euros (£6.73m) in add-ons.

Off go Mason Mount, Alejandro Garnacho and Harry Maguire.

Well that would have calmed things for the hosts.

Ollie Watkins runs on to a through ball and strikes from a tight angle, but Mark Flekken makes a smart save with his leg.

There was a huge narrative about Rodri and the stats for and against City when he has been in the team and when he has been injured, but not enough has been said about Kevin de Bruyne.

He's had minutes here and there and been on the bench, he has struggled for fitness, there were even questions about a fallout between him and Pep Guardiola.

However he has had his start tonight, was named captain, and he led the side from minute one. His quality was there for all to see.

Villa suddenly look a little nervy. When these two played each other at Villa Park in April it ended 3-3.

Three massive positives for City: a first clean sheet in 8 games; goals finally coming from the midfield and not just Haaland and defenders; and Haaland showing massive improvements in hold-up and link-up play. This is more than just the scoreline for them.

Never in doubt for Man City. They needed this win massively and they will take so much confidence going forwards. Three points is huge and they need to take the momentum into the next game. Nottingham Forest had their chances and could have made their way back in the game but they didn't take them.

Bukayo Saka is offside, but again Martin Odegaard and Saka combining.

They are both looking for them slick passes, the chemistry from those two is feeling into the game.

Bukayo Saka has a shot on goal, but it is saved by Andre Onana with the assistant raising the flag. It would've gone to VAR as the England man looked onside, but the keeper saved it anyway.

Yoanne Wissa flicks on a cross which a Villa defender manages to head clear but only as far as Mikkel Damsgaard.

The Dane takes a touch and then smashes an effort into the roof of the net. Brentford score with their first shot on target.
