    FT: Aberdeen 2-0 Kilmarnock

Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin tells BBC Scotland: "It was quite stable and the team is growing. We grow as a team, that's good.

"[Double goal scorer] Pape Habib Gueye is clever how he positions himself. I'm really happy for him.

"We need to just stay focused and prepare for the next game."

  3. McInnes disputes Lyons red cardpublished at 17:34 British Summer Time 25 August

    FT: Aberdeen 2-0 Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes tells BBC Scotland: "We finished the first half the better team. We're disappointed with the [first] goal we lose.

"We've lost the game to two free headers, which in itself is disappointing and it's very unlike us."

Killie lost Brad Lyons to a red card for a second-half challenge on Ester Sokler and McInnes commented: "I think it's a yellow card. He's not high and he's not endangering an opponent.

"The game changes when you go down to 10 men. It's all about plugging holes.

"We've never had a discipline problem at the club but three red cards domestically in the last few weeks...is extremely disappointing."

  4. Hearts 'not good enough in both boxes'published at 17:28 British Summer Time 25 August

    FT: Motherwell 3-1 Hearts

Hearts head coach Steven Naismith tells BBC Scotland: "Disappointed. The story of the game was in both boxes - not good enough. The goals we've conceded are really poor.

"Every goal this season, we've given the opposition a helping hand. Today especially, the execution of final ball wasn't at a level to cause Motherwell problems.

"We made it a difficult task to get back into it - just like in the Dundee game. We aren't putting that pressure on Motherwell to get ourselves back in the game. We don't get the ball into the final third as much as we should have.

"Decision making on the pitch is what's costing us, it's plain to see. It's really frustrating. We need to be switched on much better.

"Last season we did the same [switched formations a lot]. Our defensive record was really good. The other night, we defended set plays well as a five. It's small details that have a big impact and players within the squad need to understand how big an impact those small margins have."

  5. Kettlewell 'proud' after Motherwell winpublished at 17:19 British Summer Time 25 August

    FT: Motherwell 3-1 Hearts

Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell tells BBC Scotland: "My side were excellent today. They executed the game plan to a tee. We are pretty consistent with what we try and do but we alter it.

"There are those non-negotiables, though. They were there in spades today and that makes me proud. It was a Motherwell performance and I want to rubber stamp that.

"Our energy was great, we were on the front foot and we were unbelievably comfortable defensively. I'm delighted we finished strong and we were deserving of the three points.

"There were so many good individual performances out there. It's only one performance though, that's all it is."

Napoli have agreed a fee in the region of 30m euros (£25.4m) with Manchester United for midfielder Scott McTominay.

Although personal terms are still to be agreed and McTominay is yet to agree to the move to the Italian Serie A side, it is the second successive year United have shown a willingness to sell the academy graduate.

Earlier in August, United rejected a £20m bid for Fulham for the Scotland international.

Last season, 27-year-old McTominay turned down the chance to join West Ham and ended up making 32 Premier League appearances and scoring seven goals for United. He also started the FA Cup final victory against Manchester City.

This term, he has been used as a substitute in both Premier League games.

  10. FULL-TIME Aberdeen 2-0 Kilmarnockpublished at 16:54 British Summer Time 25 August

Aberdeen make it eight straight wins this season thanks to Pape Habib Gueye's headed double against a disappointing Kilmarnock.

Derek McInnes' visitors have now won just one of their nine games and looked a tired outfit after Thursday's Conference League play-off defeat in Copenhagen.

And the visitors' misery was compounded by captain Brad Lyons' red card and a late injury to key defender Stuart Findlay.

  11. FULL-TIME Motherwell 3-1 Heartspublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 25 August

Motherwell pick up their first Scottish Premiership victory of the season after punishing sloppy Hearts at Fir Park.

Headed goals from Paul McGinn and Stephen O'Donnell, both from set pieces, undid Steven Naismith's side, who looked particularly shaky at the back.

Yutaro Oda got one back for the visitors before Tom Sparrow intercepted an under-hit back-pass to fire in Well's third.

The defeat leaves Hearts without a win in their first five games of the campaign.
