Not a whole lot to report at Pittodrie.

Neither keeper has been tested, but there are just a few signs Aberdeen are starting to knock at the door.

    Motherwell 0-0 Hearts

Hearts captain Lawrence Shankland is playing the role of creator so far. This time, he picks out Andres Salazar at the back post, but the debutant's half-volley is blocked and goes behind for a corner.

A pacy start to this game.

  3. CLOSE!published at 15:12 British Summer Time 25 August

    Motherwell 0-0 Hearts

Stephen Kingsley is celebrating, but he's in his own box. It's because he put in a good block to deny Tawanda Maswanhise's close-range effort.

The corner comes in and Dan Casey plants his header just wide. Two big chances for Motherwell to take the lead.

    Motherwell 0-0 Hearts

Motherwell come down the left through Tawanda Maswanhise. He skips inside Gerald Taylor and gets the shot away, but Frankie Kent blocks.

Hearts have dominated possession so far, but they've done little with it.

    Motherwell 0-0 Hearts

Andres Salazar makes a darting run from out to in. He's picked out by Frankie Kent, he's one-on-one, and he blazes miles over the bar.

Thankfully for the Colombian, and the Motherwell defence, he's miles offside. Blushes spared all round.

  6. St Mirren 'need to reset'published at 15:02 British Summer Time 25 August

    FT: St Mirren 0-3 Celtic

St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson tells BBC Scotland: "Credit to Celtic. It was a horrible day in Paisley and they did the simple things much better than us.

"They started with a very good goal and that gives us an uphill battle straight away. We got what we deserved. We weren't the best version of ourselves, and if you're not, you don't beat Celtic.

"We've had a tough run, a tough set of games and we need to reset ourselves.

"I don't think we made a game of it today. We didn't really have any opportunities. We need to get our injured players fit again; once we do that, we've got a good squad."

  8. Rodgers hopeful over new signingspublished at 15:00 British Summer Time 25 August

    FT: St Mirren 0-3 Celtic

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers tells BBC Scotland: "In terms of performance and result, in difficult conditions, the players were good right from the off.

"A player of Matt O'Riley's quality will always be missed, but we never leave the burden to one player. Everyone contributes. Matt has moved on - fantastic for him and there's opportunity now for other players to come in.

"We'll bring players in, hopefully. What I do know is that by next Friday we will have improved the squad."

Around 3,000 Hearts supporers have arrived at Fir Park, where they will have first sight of Colombia International Andres Salazar. The visitors, like their hosts, are still seeking a first Scottish Premiership win of the season.

Motherwell boss Stuart Kettlewell is full of praise for teenager Lennon Miller, who turns 18 today. The son of former Scotland forward Lee has been a standout for the Fir Park club over the past 18 months.

  11. Motherwell will have to 'deal with' conditionspublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 25 August

    Motherwell v Hearts (15:00)

Motherwell boss Stuart Kettlewell tells BBC Scotland: "It's about dealing with conditions, being clever in your management of the game and we'll have to deal with a bit of wind and a bit of rain. It gives us a slick surface and an opportunity to get the ball down.

"We're looking to build in that creativity. [Tawanda Maswanhise] comes in, he caught the imagination when he came in last week. We want that pace in behind, someone in our team who can go by players.

"Ewan Wilson had been pushed up through necessity. He's done okay for a young lad but we feel this is more round pegs in round holes."

    Aberdeen v Kilmarnock (15:00)

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Sport Scotland at Pittodrie

It feels like winter has arrived at Pittodrie - perishing and intermittent showers of rain. Hopefully the action on the park will warm things up.

I suspect the fact Kilmarnock have only made a couple of changes to their starting line-up will come as a surprise to some of the travelling supporters.

It was interesting to hear Derek McInnes say the players needed lifting after what happened in Denmark last midweek.

The Aberdeen players certainly won't need any lifting after their excellent start to the season.

  13. Postponement request 'pointless' - McInnespublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 25 August

    Aberdeen v Kilmarnock (15:00)

Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes admits that "psychologically" he had to lift his players after Thursday's Conference League play-off defeat in Copenhagen.

He says the club had a discussion with the SPFL about asking for today's game to be postponed before Thursday's second leg but decided it was "pointless" making a formal request.

McInnes has made only two changes to his starting line-up, both enforced, but stressed: "I feel as if the players are finding their feet and getting the strength in their legs.

"There's no doubt about it, it is something you wrestle with as a manager, but I've tried to be as strong as we possibly could and, having watched the players in the last couple of days, we're good to go with it.

"Since Aberdeen last played, we have played two games and travelled. It's not ideal but it's the cards your dealt with when you want to be playing in Europe."

  14. Teen Turley's day to rememberpublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 25 August

    FT: St Mirren 0-3 Celtic

It was a landmark day for 18-year-old Celtic midfielder Francis Turley, who made his debut as a substitute in the 3-0 win against St Mirren.

  15. Naismith not worried about lack of goalspublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 25 August

    Motherwell v Hearts (15:00)

Hearts manager Steven Naismith tells BBC Scotland: "The way we've set the team up will hopefully get us a bit of control in the game, but also give us that creativity."

On debutant Andres Salazar: "He's been somebody who the recruitment team named who was out of our range. He burst on to the scene around the world at the Under-20 World Cup.

"The reason we managed to get him is because of his age. He's a big prospect. He's been in for a bit of time, he's comfortable with everybody and today is the right time to give him his chance."

On Hearts' perceived lack of goals: "It's not a concern. If we go the next four games without scoring, it will be. Last season, we weren't creating the number of chances we are now."

  17. Nisbet arrives 'looking sharp' - Thelinpublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 25 August

    Aberdeen v Kilmarnock (15:00)

Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin tells BBC Scotland new signing Kevin Nisbet "is looking sharp" after the Scotland striker's arrival on loan from Millwall.

"He has his experiences in Scotland before and knows the league and is going to be a good asset for us," he says of the 27-year-old who starts his Pittodrie stay on the bench.

Thelin is not getting carried away by his side's seven-game winning run, stressing: "We take it game by game."

The Swede does not believe visitors Kilmarnock will be tired from their 2-0 Conference League defeat by Copenhagen in Denmark on Thursday.

"They had a really good game against Copenhagen away and were unlucky with the penalty," Thelin adds.

"They have a strong squad and it is going to be a tough game. It is good to play a lot of games. They are in the rhythm."

The wet weather in Paisley is also apparent at Fir Park as Motherwell prepare to host Hearts with birthday boy Lennon Miller (pictured) turning 18 today.

Drier conditions at Pittodrie for Aberdeen v Kilmarnock but overall it still feels more like November than August.

  19. Maswanhise in for first Motherwell startpublished at 14:25 British Summer Time 25 August

    Motherwell v Hearts (15:00)

Leicester loanee Tawande Maswanhise wins his first Motherwell start after impressing off the bench in the Scottish Leagues Cup win over Kilmarnock.

He is the only change to the line-up that started that game last weekend, with Ewan Wilson moving to left wing-back to replace Steve Seddon, who drops to the bench.

Former Hearts midfielder Andy Halliday resumes in midfield, alongside birthday boy Lennon Miller, who turns 18 today.

  20. Salazar makes debut in four Hearts changespublished at 14:22 British Summer Time 25 August

    Motherwell v Hearts (12:00)

Hearts make four changes from the side that lost late on to Viktoria Plzen and hand a debut to much-lauded Colombian full-back Andres Salazar.

The one-cap 21-year-old joined on loan from Atletico Nacional a few weeks ago and replaces James Penrice on the left of defence.

Blair Spittal returns to the starting XI to begin against his former club, with Alan Forrest and Yan Dhanda also back in.

Jorge Grant, Cammy Devlin and Kenneth Vargas drop to the bench, with Penrice missing out completely.
