Former Everton and England midfielder on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

We're going to look at it in on Match of the Day but Virgil van Dijk was on to the referee at previous corners about being fouled to basically get his space, to make sure he wasn't marked too tightly.

It worked, and it got him the room he needed. Then he bullies his man for his goal.

You can hear more from Osman on MOTD: Uefa Champions League at 22:40 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.

    Chelsea

Chelsea goalscorer Cole Palmer, speaking to DAZN: "I thought we played well. We've shown we deserve to play here. The three goals we conceded were our own fault. We had chances.

"We broke them down well but some chances we missed. They're a good team. We deserved better than what we got."

Neil: A good team performance and after 10 minutes looked like we would win easy but they’re a good side. Gravenberch and Szoboszlai immense tonight. Wirtz had his best game and Isak had some nice touches and got a few shots away, can’t wait till he is match fit. The late late show again, Liverpool never give up.

  6. 'Too old for all these late winners!'published at 22:24 BST

    FT: Liverpool 3-2 Atletico Madrid

    Liverpool

Liverpool defender Andy Robertson, speaking on TNT Sports: "We need to get back to winning a bit simpler and easier. The assistant manager turned to me when Virgil put it in and said he's getting too old for it, so I can't imagine what the fans are like. It's a great thing to have, being able to keep going until the end. When you're 2-0 up and playing so well in the first half it should've been a more comfortable night."

On his goal: "I was just trying to get in the line of the keeper, so he couldn't see. It's a great finish, give me the Puskas award now! But no, honestly I didn't know anything about it. It was a great start and thank goodness it went in.

"We've got a lot of new players, they need to settle in. Playing for a big club like this isn't easy. They've all done really well. They're the future. They're the ones going to take this club forward. They've shown glimpses and they're only going to get better."

  7. Kane 'absolutely stunning'published at 22:19 BST

Give Kane chances, he will score goals. Fullstop.

He could have easily got a hat-trick tonight, but he got his two goals and it could have been more.

Ten goals in six games this season. Absolutely stunning.

  11. 'We found a way again'published at 22:13 BST

    FT: Liverpool 3-2 Atletico Madrid

    Liverpool

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk, speaking on TNT Sports: "We try, we kept pushing for the 3-1. We concede the equaliser, massively deflected. It was not great. We found a way again. We were dangerous in our set-pieces anyway, they were pretty aggressive I must say. I'm glad I got the winner.

"They're a team that never gives up, they have quality players that can punish you if you're not there in a split second, if you're a little bit too late and they punished us before the break and after the break we try to go for the 3-1. They get a bit of confidence from that as well. But we have to keep going and show the resilience we've been showing for many years and it was another great European night here again."

On if the team always believes they'll find a way: "I think we showed many times that we are capable of doing it. Today I was the lucky one with the winner and we move on."

Let's be honest, after the opening minutes we were thinking how many [for Liverpool]. But they got back in it.

Second half Llorente was tremendous. They get back to two each, he gets his goals.

Then the drama at the end, red cards for coaches and then a wonderful header to win the game. I really enjoyed it.
