Garnacho doesn't look like he wants to take a chance he's been given despite all the previous evidence that he just isn't good enough for this level. 3 touches in 20 mins. Awful. Estevao comes on, complete opposite in body language & attitude. Why isn't he starting?!

  3. 'It's such a shame'published at 21:51 BST

    Bayern Munich 3-1 Chelsea

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 Live at Allianz Arena

An incredible defence-splitting pass from Santos and Palmer was the one that ran through to tuck it past Neuer. The pass of the night.

It's such a shame that [it's ruled out] because it was a beautiful pass.

Corner to Liverpool. Hugo Ekitike gets his head on it and some Liverpool fans think that's gone in when it's actually hit the side-netting.

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:51 BST

    Bayern Munich 3-1 Chelsea

Bayern give Nicolas Jackson a couple of minutes against his parent club. Harry Kane is replaced.

And Tom Bischof replaces Serge Gnabry.

  7. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 21:50 BST

    Bayern Munich 3-1 Chelsea

Cole Palmer's goal is disallowed by the VAR for offside and that's probably the three points for Bayern Munich now.

  8. goal

    Goncalo Ramos (90+1 mins)

    Shambolic defending.

Goncalo Ramos is gifted the ball just yards from goal after a poor back pass and he dinks over Marco Carnesecchi with ease.

    Cole Palmer (89 mins)

    Game on!

Cole Palmer runs onto an excellent Andrey Santos though ball and just pokes the ball past Manuel Neuer and it rolls into an empty net.

    But was Palmer offside?

Another Liverpool change - Milos Kerkez for Andy Robertson.

  12. 'Bayern happy to sit back'published at 21:48 BST

    Bayern Munich 3-1 Chelsea

    Ian Dennis

Chelsea are having the ball now because Bayern have dropped off. Chelsea have not pushed them back, they are more than happy to sit back and let Chelsea have it.

Alejandro Garnacho's shot from the corner of the box is saved by Manuel Neuer. Easy stop really.

That's a good chance. He's excellent in the air and he should do better. Does it come off his shoulder?

In fact, just once have the defending champions lost their opening game in this competition in the last 30 editions. That team was Liverpool.

Into the final six minutes...Atletico can smell a winner.

But will Liverpool come up with yet another late, late goal?

  20. 'Bayern have been the better team'published at 21:46 BST

    Bayern Munich 3-1 Chelsea

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 Live at Allianz Arena

At the moment I would say this is a fair result. Bayern have been the better team and have turned up when they needed to. Chelsea haven't been embarrassed but they will learn a lot, especially from the big moments.
