    Sheff Utd 2-0 Plymouth

NINE STRAIGHT HOME WINS WITH CLEAN SHEETS FOR SHEFFIELD UNITED.

The Blades were far from their sparking best against the lowly Pilgrims but they don't ask how, they ask how many and this win sends them three points clear at the top of the league.

Gustavo Hamer made it 1-0 before the break and Kieffer Moore's late penalty wrapped up the points.

Wayne Rooney's men remain without an away win this season but this was an improved showing from them.

  2. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:53 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Oxford 1-3 Sheffield Wed

That's four away wins in five for Wednesday, who had to come from behind but did it very efficiently.

Goals from Josh Windass, Jamal Lowe and a beauty by Djeidi Gassama secure the points for the Owls.

  3. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:53 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Millwall

Neil Harris suffers defeat in his final game in charge of Millwall.

It wasn't a happy ending for the Lions boss but Middlesbrough secure an important three points thanks to Emmanuel Latte Lath's 10th minute strike.

Boro are back into the play-off spots for the time being, while for Millwall, it's now three losses in a row and six games without a win.

    Stoke 1-2 Cardiff

Andy Rinomhota makes an excellent block to deny Stoke's Emre Tezgel. Could that be the moment that secures three points for Cardiff?

    Stoke 1-2 Cardiff

Stoke have six minutes of stoppage time to find an equaliser at the end of this game.

    David Norris
Former Plymouth Argyle midfielder on BBC Radio Devon

Sheffield United have got away with one today.

The manager will be telling the players they've got the result but the performance hasn't been up to standard.

  8. Postpublished at 16:47 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Blackburn 2-0 Luton

Liam Walsh's dismissal has effectively ended Luton's hopes of mounting a fightback and it's just a case of whether Blackburn can add to their lead.

Their last four games have ended 1-0, so Rovers won't be unhappy if they end up doubling that tally and recording another clean sheet in the process.

Ryan Hedges does his best to add a third with a left-foot drive that's gathered by Thomas Kaminski.

  9. CLOSE!published at 16:47 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Stoke 1-2 Cardiff

Manolis Siopis almost seals it for the visitors but his low drive flies just wide.

  10. Postpublished at 16:46 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Stoke 1-2 Cardiff

Cardiff are within touching distance of a first away victory of the season and their first win on the road for 12 games. A couple of minutes plus stoppages to hold on.

It's heartbreaking for Argyle, who have been very good today.

  12. goal

GOAL: Sheff Utd 2-0 Plymouthpublished at 16:45 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Kieffer Moore (penalty) (88 mins)

    Game over.

Sub Kieffer Moore makes no mistake from the spot and Sheffield United are going three points clear at the top of the Championship.

Harsh on Plymouth but them's the breaks when you don't take your chances.

  13. PENALTY TO SHEFF UTDpublished at 16:44 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Sheff Utd 1-0 Plymouth

The league leaders have the chance to wrap this up.

  14. Postpublished at 16:43 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Millwall

It's tight at the Riverside but Middlesbrough's Isaiah Jones tries to put it to bed for the hosts... his curled effort flies over the bar, though.

  15. Postpublished at 16:43 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Oxford 1-3 Sheffield Wed

An Oxford goal now would set up an interesting finish to the game.

But if there are further goals at the Kassam Stadium, it's Wednesday who look the more likely to score them.

They've been opening up the U's defence at will in this second half and Anthony Musaba and Michael Smith have both gone close to extending the visitors' lead late on.

  16. Postpublished at 16:42 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Sheff Utd 1-0 Plymouth

    Into the final 10 minutes.

Sheffield United haven't been especially impressive against the struggling Pilgrims today but its the points that matter, not the performance.

They're closing in on a ninth straight home win without conceding a goal and going three points clear atop the Championship.

  17. Postpublished at 16:41 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Swansea 2-3 Sunderland

This turnaround could be huge for Sunderland.

As it stands they're closing the gap on second-placed Leeds to just two points.

  18. Postpublished at 16:38 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Stoke 1-2 Cardiff

Stoke have failed to win any of their past eight league games against Cardiff City (D5 L3) before today and are trailing with 10 minutes to go...

The Bluebirds don't mind this fixture. Will it be the Welsh side who end their six-game winless run?

    Swansea 2-3 Sunderland

    Nick Barnes

The Swansea fans seem pretty stunned by this turnaround from Sunderland.

We've been talking about Jobe Bellingham and how good he's been and that's the icing on the cake.

In the second half, you've got to say Sunderland have really got hold of the game.
