B- still trying to sort Ange's mess out and a real lack of strikers who can score , will improve with hard work , time needed.

    Simon, Devizes

Frank deserves at least a B - B+ for making a steady start. Has galvanised the squad and made them more organised. Get a better striker in and then it will improve to an A!

Happy with Frank but I think he is suffering with previous poor recruitment. Odobert, Johnson, Richarlison and Tel are either not ready or not good enough. If you stop Kudus you stop Spurs. He'll get the balance right in time but right now we are not capable in attack.

Thomas Frank is a builder. You look at the squad that he has inherited, and you can see his fingerprints are on it already.

I like how tactically diverse he is. He is able to adapt in games and we are seeing a different Tottenham. It is a work in progress though, it's not going to happen overnight.

This Monaco draw won't end up being a bad result for them. When you look at the rest of their Champions League fixtures - they play at home against Copenhagen, Slavia Prague and Dortmund then go to Frankfurt, with PSG being the tricky one.

There are four very winnable games in there.

  4. 'It was a hard point won'published at 13:53 BST

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank, speaking to TNT Sports: "I think there is big credit to Monaco today. It was a hard point won. It was a relatively even first half. Second half our performance was not good and Monaco were better than us. It demanded a lot to keep the clean sheet.

"I think Vicario was very good. But it was not the performance we wanted, especially the second half."

I've not even had to ask yet and you're already off. Definitely seems to be a slight bit of unrest with some of you Spurs fans.

What I want to know though, is, how do you rate your start to the season under new manager Thomas Frank?

School grading card please. A* for you're off to the Champions League final, all the way down to F - sack him before you're planning a trip to Wrexham next season.

I don't think they do A to F at school anymore but they do at this one.

Mediocre Team; Frank not made any difference from previous Manager's, everyone said get Levy out, well he's out and we ain't improved one bit... An extremely Hard Watch Following Spurs.

  7. Rare stalemate for Spurspublished at 13:42 BST

Tottenham supporters haven’t been accustomed to goalless draws in recent years, with the result against Monaco their first 0-0 for 959 days.

Their last nil-nil came during the final month of Antonio Conte’s reign in March 2023 and was an especially frustrating one, as it resulted in Spurs meekly bowing out of the Champions League against AC Milan 1-0 on aggregate.

None of their subsequent 125 matches ended without a goal, with only 22 of those finishing in score draws.

Most of those games came under Ange Postecoglou, whose cavalier attacking style often frustrated Spurs fans but rarely bored them.

Might that be the case more often under his more pragmatic successor Thomas Frank?

Since making his managerial debut in the Premier League in 2021, the Dane has overseen 11 goalless draws in the competition – with only Sean Dyche registering more.

Most 0-0 draws by Premier League managers since 2021-22

    Spurs fans, it's your turn!

The only English team not to win in matchday three of the Champions League.

But, it was a point and a clean sheet away from home which is not to be sniffed at no matter what your pesky rivals say.

Let's take a look at how you did it.

  10. Recap: Blues thrash hapless Ajaxpublished at 13:30 BST

We have been reacting to yesterday's Champions League results today.

Over the past hour or so, we have looked at how Chelsea dismantled Ajax last night and what they could go on to achieve this season.

Here's a recap of all the best bits we have covered:

That's all about Chelsea but we will now turn our focus to their neighbours Tottenham, who had a difficult night in Monaco but escaped with a point.

And to take you through that and more, Ben Ramsdale is back.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca told Uefa after the win against Ajax: "Very happy about the game. We started quite well. The red card changed the game. We played a good game. We scored five goals and could have scored more.

"To play with 10 players is difficult. We know that well this season. It's very good [to see fringe youngsters impress]. When you give them the chance and they take the chance it's important.

"We like to go game by game. In 48 hours we have another very demanding game against Sunderland."

I can't see Chelsea competing for major honours. Champions League? No chance. Premier League? No chance. FA Cup? Maybe. You cannot compare the plastic cup they won this year with major honours. Chelsea are a decent outfit, especially with Palmer fit, but they aren't quite there yet.

Only Manchester City (17) have scored more goals than Chelsea (16) in the Premier League this season.

And the Blues have had goals spread across their squad this season, with nine different scorers after eight league games.

Interstingly, it is midfielders Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez who top their scoring charts with three goals apiece.

Pedro Neto, meanwhile, has established himself on the right wing since the Club World Cup triumph in the United States in the summer and has scored twice.

New signing Joao Pedro has two goals and three assists while centre-back Trevoh Chalobah is also a nuisance in set-pieces and has found the back of the net twice.

Reece James, Josh Acheampong, Estevao Willian and Cole Palmer, who has been limited to three appearances this season, have all scored a goal each.

Tyrique George, who had a loan move to Fulham collapse in summer, has also contributed with goals, scoring once in the Champions League and Carabao Cup.

Meanwhile, Marc Guiu's first goal of the season, since being recalled from his Sunderland loan due to Liam Delap's hamstring injury, would further boost head coach Enzo Marseca's confidence.

  14. Was Adarabioyo lucky not to see red against Ajax?published at 13:20 BST

    Chelsea 5-1 Ajax

    Chelsea

Chelsea's discipline issues in recent weeks have been well documented.

They have had five red cards in recent weeks, including one shown to head coach Enzo Maresca in a last-gasp win over Liverpool.

But should they have had a red card in a fifth consecutive game last night?

BBC Sport pundits Stephen Warnock and Andy Cole discuss whether defender Tosin Adarabioyo should have been sent off against the Dutch visitors.

While it was nice that they won emphatically last night, you can't read too much into the result. Firstly because that was far from Chelsea's best XI, and secondly because Ajax were so poor and reduced to 10 men. The games against Barcelona and Arsenal will give a clearer indication!

What a joy it is for Chelsea's youngsters to come on against a team that are a big name, but not very good.

It is like a production line - they turn up and have this 360-degree vision, they are picking out passes and they have great understanding with each other.

There is one player who stood out above the rest though, obviously I could go on about Estevao but what a lovely moment for Tyrique George.

He was getting decent chances at Chelsea and suddenly they went and bought two strikers. He must have thought that was him finished and he would be sent out [on loan].

But he came on, got another chance, scored a goal and looked really good in that position. I'm delighted for him.

Chelsea academy graduate Tyrique George score his first Champions League goal after coming on as a substitute Ajax.

George, 19, has now scored five goals for the senior team of club that he joined at the under-8s level.

He had looked set to be on his way out of the club in the summer, with a £22m move to Fulham only falling through late on deadline day.

Handed a first-team lifeline, George took it with a starring role as the Blues battled back to avoid a Carabao Cup upset at Lincoln City last month as he hit a fine half-volley to level in the 48th minute, before setting up Facundo Buonanotte for the winner two minutes later.

After his latest goal for the club, George told the club website: ‘It was a really good night. I’m really happy to score my first Champions League goal and it was a great win.

"It’s an amazing feeling. I’ve wanted it ever since I was eight years old, to score in the Champions League. It’s what dreams are made of.

"We’re all young and having fun. We’re having fun on the pitch and that’s it. The manager tells us to have fun and really be free when we’re in attacking areas, and that’s what we showed last night.’

Nothing is guaranteed in football, yet Chelsea are in great form and are young and talented. If we can remove the long-term injuries permanently plus get Delap and Palmer fit in one month, the team will be in very good shape for games against Barcelona and Arsenal.

    Alisdair, London

If we can get all the players back and then stay injury free, there is a chance. However, we are more suited to cups rather than the league at the moment, so I would say the Champions League would be more of an option, subject to the draw.

Chelsea defender Jorrel Hato says only Barcelona superstar Lamine Yamal can compare with his team-mate Estevao Willian.

When asked how good the Brazilian is, Hato said: "Have I seen a teenager like this? Yes, maybe Lamine Yamal - but I cannot name anyone else.

"He was really good - he is very young, even younger than me."

It was an emotional night for Hato, who captained Ajax having come through the youth system.

"It was a little bit strange because I know everyone. I was nervous in the beginning but it was nice after. It was a big win to win 5-1 in the Champions League," he said.

Hato was making his fourth start since joining Chelsea. He had struggled in previous appearances against physical teams like Brentford and Lincoln City, though improved against Brighton before coming off with cramp.

Hato admitted: "It hasn't been easy to move from the Dutch league to the Premier League. It is a big step and I knew that. I was maybe struggling a little bit physically and with the tempo of the game in the beginning, [but] I am getting better and better."

As world champions already after thumping PSG, I am not sure what the question is. Surely, can Arsenal finally win a major title after over 20 years? is a more relevant question?
