Well, Maldon & Tiptree poked the bear, didn’t they? Vale started very slowly but, as you’d expect, they’re markedly better than the visitors and their forward movement off the ball is causing all sorts of problems.

Vale are keeping on pushing, despite the flurry of goals, and the visitors are trying to get hold of the ball and just calm things down a tad.

Good attempt from George Byers as the Vale captain goes close to adding his name on the scoresheet but his low drive is well tipped around the post by Elliot Justham.

Mo Faal muscles out captain Jack Cawley and pulls the ball back to Ruari Paton but the attacking midfielder is denied a first-half match ball with a heroic block from a visiting defender denying him in the penalty area.

The visitors are starting to show their class and they come close with another chance.

Daniel Kanu shifts inside and past a defender with a deft touch, before curling an effort just wide of the far post with his right foot.

The challenge now for Eastleigh will be can they pick themselves up and get something, get any kind on momentum into this game because at the moment Walsall are in full control.

A brief lull from all the goal scoring gives me the chance to tell you Port Vale have had four attempts on target and scored with all of them.

Maldon and Tiptree are starting to pop the ball around a little and that is getting the 'Ole's' from their travelling support, who are determined to enjoy their day out in the Potteries.

It's a cracking finish. It's the first real time we've seen Daniel Kanu get any space and run. There was a back back between the centre-back and right-back for Eastleigh but take nothing away from the finish, he has to hit it early.

Evan Weir cushions the pass perfectly and it's a brilliant finish, high and into the net.

A lovely cross from Vale's Ruari Paton somehow evades everyone in the middle before Paton has a strike of his own, but it is blocked and tamely runs through to the goalkeeper.

It's just one long ball from Jesse Debrah. It's a great first touch from George Hall, his pace takes him away from the left back. Picks up after Devante Cole pace and obviously Devante dispatches away.

A good cross finds Tom Eastman who looks for Freddie Sears in the box but the Vale defence snuff out the danger.

At the other end, Devante Cole looks to get the finishing touch to a good cross from Marvin Johnson but his strike goes over and the assistant referee flags him offside for good measure.
