    Inches away!

Anthony Gordon has gone for the far corner. I don't think he has tried to square it to Almiron.

Oh my. It should be 2-2.

Anthony Gordon rides a Casemiro tackle in the box and rolls the ball towards the back post. Miguel Almiron is sliding in and if he makes contact it's in, but he doesn't and the ball goes agonisingly wide.

Great to see Nkunku scoring. He was the player I was most excited to see after pre-season and seemed to be the goalscorer that Chelsea were missing. Injures have just been a nightmare for him.

Andre Onana keeps Manchester United in the lead.

Joelinton picks out Sean Longstaff in the box but Onana makes himself big to keep out the shot.

An even better save from Onana now to tip Joelinton's header over the bar.

Almost a fine goal from Bruno Fernandes. He steps inside two Newcastle players too easily and shoots over the bar from just outside the box. It was close.

Two knocks for Bruno Fernandes in about two minutes. First he holds his thigh after making a challenge and then he's hobbling after sliding onto the track next to the pitch. He's fine though.

Well played Amad. Imagine if Man Utd played a young livewire winger throughout the season, especially after the good season he had on loan last year!

    Yusuf

Amad looked alright against us at weekend and now he’s done well and scored tonight. Got winner against Liverpool in cup too. How has he not played more often? It’s bad management that he hasn’t played more given how poor Antony and Rashford have been this season.

    Simon Stone

It has been a strange couple of games for Manchester United.

Amad Diallo and Sofyan Amrabat have been overlooked for large parts of this season and not really been that effective when they have played.

But against Arsenal and again tonight, they have been two of Manchester United's better performers.

Without Amrabat's tackle on Alexander Isak, the home side would have been behind. Thanks to Amad, they are in front.

Is it an astute move from Erik ten Hag to pick them, or bad management to overlook them?
