Dylan Vente's double had Hibs 2-0 ahead by the break
Dylan Vente grabbed a hat-trick as David Gray's first competitive game as permanent Hibernian head coach got off to a flying start with a five-star win over Elgin City in Scottish League Cup Group C.
Vente netted the opener with just eight minutes on the clock and added his second before the break against the League 2 hosts.
Debutant Marvin Ekpiteta, the central defender previously of Blackpool, and winger Martin Boyle added two more before the striker rounded off a comprehensive win.
In the group's other game, Championship side Queen's Park thumped League 2 hosts Peterhead 5-0.
