I think Ange needs to ditch "Angeball" and work with Forest's strengths - attacking on the break and now pressing higher - with that he won't need a plan "B"

  2. 'They are here to win trophies'published at 15:09 BST

Arsenal v Nottingham Forest (Sat, 12:30 BST)

    Nick Mashiter
    BBC Sport football news reporter

He didn't go into specifics and talks about player this time around. They haven't spent £180m in the summer to go backwards. He referenced trophies, they are here to win trophies and move forward. That's the whole point of bringing in a new manager. There is a real expectation to push them forward and push them on and they do have the players available.

The one thing I would be concerned about is how exposed the centre backs may be. The important is to make sure they are not exposed. The centre backs may not have the ball playing experience that Postecoglou may want.

Thanks Steve. Not to sound too harsh, but I think plenty of us will remember Tottenham finishing 17th.

OK, that does sound pretty harsh written down. It's not meant to be!

I find the ignorance & disrespect towards Ange baffling. You're remembered for winning cups not finishing 5th where Ange did before that horrific injury crisis. That's conveniently ignored by those who try to make out he's some sort of fool. His record blows Nuno & Frank's out the water.

Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris: "[Dan Ballard is] probably [available] for Aston Villa. We have many options [across the back four]. We know the journey in the Premier League will be very long. Now the momentum is positive so I think the players who have started deserve to keep playing."

On any other injuries: "No, I don't think so."

When will Romaine Mundle be ready to return: "Probably next international break."

West Ham manager Graham Potter on team news: "There are no absentees. Niclas [Fullkrug] had a slight issue with his calf on international duty, so he came back early. He's trained lightly today but we'll see how he reacts. Apart from that everybody is OK."

Ange comes to Forest on the back of a record of 22 defeats from 38 games for Spurs in last season's PL - not a great entry on his CV!

West Ham manager Graham Potter on new signings: "As you can imagine with the window you have to be on your toes. There was an opportunity for Nayef Aguerd to leave, it was a good move for him, and Igor [Julio] has come in. He's fitted in well. He's a really good character and we're happy.

"The opportunity for Wes [Foderingham] came up and he felt it was the right thing for him. You look at someone who can come in and support the goalkeepers. Lukasz [Fabianski] is not at the start of his career but there's still life there for sure. He's starting to think about what life looks like afterwards, supporting the team and helping the players that are here."

  10. Mixed injury news for Farkepublished at 14:48 BST

Fulham v Leeds (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Leeds United

Leeds manager Daniel Farke on injury news: "There's mixed news. Lucas Perri is definitely out for the game. He reported after the last game some problems with his quad. He had a scan and there's a muscle strain. He will definitely miss the next two games and then we'll have more clarity.

"There's a few little question marks around Lukas Nmecha - he got a hit on his foot and missed training - also Joel Piroe, he got hit on his calf and has a big bruise. We have to wait for how their body reacts in the next 24 hours so there are little doubts around them.

"And there's some good news. Ethan Ampadu and Ao Tanaka are both integrated into major parts of team training. Ethan slightly more. But we also have 48 more hours and we'll take a late decision with them. But both are possible, it depends how they react in the next 48 hours."

Uncertain about Ange. But I felt the same when Nuno was appointed after Cooper was sacked. It took a while to warm up to Nuno and it'll be the same now. As my Uncle Bob said, you support the club not the manager.

  12. 'We wanted a different deadline day 'published at 14:46 BST

Fulham v Leeds (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Leeds United

Leeds manager Daniel Farke on his side not signing another attacker in the transfer window: "It's fair to say that after deadline day we're not going to be dancing on the table. I've got a few principles with how I work and this is crucial for me. One principle is I like openness and transparency. I like to name it how I see it.

"The second principle is once a transfer window is closed and I can't influence things anymore, you won't hear one bad word or comment from me in any way.

"I'm pretty fortunate to be allowed to work in the business. My job is to adapt to the reality and work with what I've got.

"I don't want to say different things to what I've said before. I won't come out and say it was never the plan to sign offensive players. I would never do this because I don't like to talk nonsense. Once the situation is done I adapt to the reality. You won't hear one bad word from me. I'm there for my players.

"There is no point for me to feel down and sorry for myself. We perhaps wanted a different deadline day or different transfer window, but right now we are just focused on trying to get as many Premier League points as possible."

As a neutral I'm excited to see Ange back in the Premier League. His press conferences are entertaining and so is his all out attack strategy. But Angeball is literally the antithesis of the Nuno playstyle. That drastic a change, three games into a season, just seems reckless.

  15. 'There was a determination to Ange'published at 14:41 BST

Arsenal v Nottingham Forest (Sat, 12:30 BST)

    Nick Mashiter
    BBC Sport football news reporter

"It's okay, sit down," Ange Postecoglou joked to the media as he was introduced at the City Ground.

It started a 50-minute press conference where the new Nottingham Forest manager laced his answers with some jokes and character but also underlined his determination to win at his new club.

He talked about how his 60th birthday celebrations were interrupted by negotiations over the weekend - how he and his friends had planned a Hangover-style party only to be in bed by 10pm as they realised their age.

But underneath everything there was the seriousness of winning and succeeding at Forest, bringing joy to the fans and how he will always stick to his principles.

Postecoglou also spoke about how he knew the sack was coming at Tottenham - before he won the Europa League - as he reflected on his last job.

His time out was spent with his family - kidding owner Evangelos Marinakis caught him at the right time as there was no greater motivation to get back to work than the school run - but it is clear the break has done him good.

At the end of his time at Spurs he was on the defensive, even as they reached the Europa League final, but this appeared to be a refreshed Postecoglou, ready for a new challenge.

  16. Recap: Ange's best quotes from conferencepublished at 14:38 BST

Blimey mate, that was one mighty news conference.

Ange Postecoglou was on top form there, here's what he had to say for himself:

  17. 'I repaid Levy's faith in me with Europa League trophy'published at 14:35 BST

Arsenal v Nottingham Forest (Sat, 12:30 BST)

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Ange Postecoglou on ex-Spurs chairman Daniel Levy: "I didn't have a great deal of interaction with Daniel, that's the reality of it. I tended to get on with my daily business and did what I needed to do. He was there for a very long time.

"He invested a hell of a lot into that football club in terms of building it up to where it was. I guess he appointed me so I've got to be grateful for that. I guess I repaid it by providing a trophy that they hadn't had for a very long time."

  18. 'I knew Spurs sacking was coming'published at 14:34 BST

Arsenal v Nottingham Forest (Sat, 12:30 BST)

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Ange Postecoglou on being sacked by Tottenham: "It wasn't great. I knew it was coming. I knew it was coming a fair way before the Europa League final.

"We won it and we had the parade. It was a great three days. I didn't want it to tarnish that. But after that I kind of knew it was done. From my perspective I've had the chance to process that. Whether I feel it was unjust, other people make those decisions. That's up to them, you'll have to ask their reasoning for it.

"What I do know is that I had two years where it was very, very challenging, but I worked with some fantastic people in the football department. The supporters, we put them through some tough times, but there is no Spurs supporter I come across now who doesn't want to hug me and take me home for dinner, so I must have done something right.

"Ultimately that's what we do it for. I'm very proud of what I've done there and it will always have a special place in my heart.

"How it ended I don't really think about a lot. To be fair I've done it a couple of times myself. I left Celtic, I'm sure they were disapointed when I left. I left Yokohama so you understand that's part of the business you're in.

"It's allowed me to move into this and maybe these things happen for a reason."

  19. 'Marinakis took Forest into Europe'published at 14:29 BST

Arsenal v Nottingham Forest (Sat, 12:30 BST)

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Ange Postecoglou on Evangelos Marinakis: "I don't know mate, I've only met him a few times and I just said yes to him.

"I think people who have the kind of existence that he's had, it's very hard for us to relate to. Like I said the one thing about him that people can't deny is that he's taken over this football club with the right intentions. It's not a vehicle for people to find out who he is or thrust himself into the spotlight. He wants to have a team who wins things.

It's not easier but you can go into London, by one of the big teams and you're guaranteed success. I love the fact that he's taken a club with a fantastic history but they're in the Championship. He's taken them into Europe. There's some real merit there and that tells you a lot about the kind of person he is."

Forest making one enormous mistake. Ange was a failure at Spurs and will be at Forest. Far too dogmatic and a one trick pony.
