  1. 'I'm better equipped as a manager'published at 14:26 BST

Arsenal v Nottingham Forest (Sat, 12:30 BST)

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Ange Postecoglou on learning from his time at Spurs: "Last year was a bit of a unique season. We didn't have a great pre-season, we weren't prepared.

"Obviously I'm coming in three games in in terms of the preparation to this season. When I look at the squad there's certainly more experience. We signed some young players at the start of last year at Spurs which we had to blood.

"I just know the demands of Thursday-Sunday, particularly when you play away in Europe. I think I'm better equipped as a manager to handle it. The staff I have we kind of know. I think the other guys at Nottingham Forest, they've done a lot of work studying clubs like ours and Villa last year to prepare for the season.

"Me and the coaching staff actually have the life experience of what it's like and that will help us navigate it a bit better."

  2. 'I'll never go away from my principles'published at 14:22 BST

Arsenal v Nottingham Forest (Sat, 12:30 BST)

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Ange Postecoglou: "If you look at my first year at Spurs we finished fifth. Fifth would've got you a Champions League spot any other year. And we were really aggressive with our football. People say it doesn't work. But finishing fifth after taking over a team, and we'd just lost a generational talent in Harry Kane. My last year was a different year for sure and we had to adjust the way we did things, and it bought us success. But I'm never going to go away from my principles.

"I want my team to play football and it's exciting, it gets people talking. From my perspective I'll always try and do things a little bit differently."

  3. 'It seems to be a melting pot of the same opinion these days'published at 14:21 BST

Arsenal v Nottingham Forest (Sat, 12:30 BST)

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Ange Postecoglou on support in Australia: "They're missing everything because they're not watching what I do. I do love my teams to attack and score goals, but the one constant in my career is everywhere I've gone I've won things. Sometimes that's done in a slightly different way. If you go back to the start of my career I've played every system there is. Three at the back, four at the back, five at the back.

"I've done 4-4-2 for a whole season. It's a challenging world. There used to be a melting pot of different ideas and opinions. It seems to be a melting pot of the same opinion these days. It'd be nice if everyone took a step back."

Nottingham Forest boss Ange Postecoglou on proving doubters wrong: "I don't see it as a point to prove. I don't have to prove anything to anyone. You let your actions speak for themselves and you understand the responsibility you have. You have to provide joy to the supporters - that's why football clubs exist. They are the lifeblood of this game. That's all I care about. I'll win things here and people will still have doubts about me.

"I just want to keep doing what I need to do doing because it brings hoy to people and allows me to live my dreams."

  7. 'I feel blessed'published at 14:06 BST

Arsenal v Nottingham Forest (Sat, 12:30 BST)

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Ange Postecoglou on support in Australia: "It was funny because over the weekend I was celebrating my 60th. All my best mates from Australia met on the weekend. We were in bed by 10pm. There was sort of an inkling that something would happen. They're very invested in me and they love the Premier League. Everyone in my inner circle is really pleased.

"The opportunity presented itself because of the work I've done. That's opened doors for me. I feel pretty humble and blessed to be given another opportunity to manage in the greatest league in the world.

"For anyone who comes from Australia, we realise how far away we are from this world. People think I only started coaching two years ago at Spurs. We love being the underdog and we love being written off. I surpassed my dreams 20 years ago."

Arsenal v Nottingham Forest (Sat, 12:30 BST)

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Ange Postecoglou on winning trophies: "I won the double with Celtic in my first year. I may have to to have a second year here."

On potential Brian Clough comparisons: "There will never be any comparison between me and Brian Clough. He is a standalone legend and a figure you cannot compare to. I am a student of the game. He did it at a football club where no one expects that sort of thing. It means it's different."

  11. 'I want Forest to be an exciting team'published at 14:00 BST

Arsenal v Nottingham Forest (Sat, 12:30 BST)

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Ange Postecoglou on his tactics: "I do like my teams to play exciting football and score goals and get fans excited. I make no apologies about that, that's just the way I am. We want to dominate the ball and score goals. All of it with the end goal of winning football games. If you win games then you can win trophies. I see a group of players and the opportunity to build something will be good to watch."

Nottingham Forest boss Ange Postecoglou on his character: "For the most part, what you see is what you get. I try to be myself. I'm very passionate about what I do. I love creating things that are lasting. Every club I've been to, I'd like to think I'd be welcome back because I left a mark. That takes time. One thing the fans will know with me is that if I set my mind to do something then I'll see it through."

  13. 'Forest fans won't love me from the first day'published at 13:57 BST

Arsenal v Nottingham Forest (Sat, 12:30 BST)

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Ange Postecoglou on unity at the club: "I think it's always been here. The supporters were right behind Coops [Steve Cooper] and the team. That was one of the attractions for me. You know how closely linked the football club is to the community. It won't happen overnight. They won't love me from the first day, it's something I have to earn.

"Longer term I have to earn peoples respect and trust. If we can tap into that then we can create something really special."

Arsenal v Nottingham Forest (Sat, 12:30 BST)

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Ange Postecoglou on squad's reaction to Nuno sacking: "I just kind of let the players be and the staff because I'm sure Nuno had close relationships with all of them. They are human beings and I thought it was really important to let them deal with it.

"I told them we have a game Saturday and there's nothing more important than that. We have to be absolutely ready for a big game and that's been the conversation. I haven't tried to expand on that too much."

Nottingham Forest boss Ange Postecoglou on what came asking Spurs sacking: "It was unusual because it's never happened to me before. It's the first time I've been sacked. It's the first time I've had an off-season off. You wonder about the next opportunity. What I did know was I really keen to go to a club that would give me the platform to continue what I've been doing in my career.

"If you asked me at the start of the year if a job with Nottingham Forest was a possibility then I'd have said no because of the job Nuno had done. The opportunity presented itself and I was here to take it."

Ange Postecoglou on his relationship with Evangelos Marinakis: "I've been in his company three or four times. I don't know him well. We were in Athens because he presented me with an award and I wasn't going to turn it down. It meant a lot to me because I was raised in Australia but I was born in Greece.

"I had a brief interaction with him there. I haven't spent a lot of time with him but from afar you have to admire his ambition."
