  1. 'We had enough chances to win the game'published at 16:19 British Summer Time 24 August

    FT: Everton 2-0 Brighton

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I think overall we were the better team, we created the better chances but in the end football is about scoring and keeping clean sheets. We didn't take care of the small actions and the small elements of the game and this is how you lose."

On the chances Brighton had: "We had a similar situation in the last game where we had chances and we have to be more ruthless. Every player wants to score and a goal always helps. In some moments we didn't defend well when we conceded the goals. We didn't take care of the throw-ins in some moments of the game. We can improve and we have to focus. We have enough chances here to win the game."

Palace will be disappointed with the goal they conceded - they just switched off. It was too easy for Forest to get in. Overall, a point is probably fair for both sides.

  4. 'Jack is an amazing player'published at 16:15 British Summer Time 24 August

    FT: Everton 2-0 Brighton

    Everton

Everton attacker Iliman Ndiaye, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was very special. We are coming here to try and get the victory. We didn't begin the Premier League well last weekend but it felt good to come here and give the fans what they deserve.

On partnership with Grealish: "It could be great. Jack is an amazing player, we all know that. He assisted me for the first goal and the second goal. It could be very good this season."

Still maintain Moyes is one of the most underrated managers in the Prem. One look at West Ham's current situation tells you all you need to know. Or even Man Utd's for that matter!

When you see the calibre of players Forest were able to bring on and compare that to who Palace had coming off the bench, I can live with the draw just fine.

Everton's new era begins. They spent 133 years at their beloved Goodison Park, but now at this new stadium on the historic waterfront here in the city of Liverpool. They begin with a 2-0 win over Brighton on this historic afternoon.

For the work rate that they showed, Everton deserve the win but I don't know for pure quality. However football has a habit of giving good stories when it needs to. When they left Goodison Park they got that 2-0 win over Southampton and they needed a good start at this new stadium and they got that.

Everton midfielder Jack Grealish, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was massive. First game at the new stadium and we wanted to put on a show for the supporters. Very happy to get the win.

"It's massive. I loved my time at Man City and I had a great four years there and won a lot of things. Ss soon as I spoke to David Moyes on FaceTime, I wanted to come here and today shows why.

"I said yesterday that the manager hadn't played us [Iliman Ndiaye] together in training. Today is the first time."
