Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I think overall we were the better team, we created the better chances but in the end football is about scoring and keeping clean sheets. We didn't take care of the small actions and the small elements of the game and this is how you lose."

On the chances Brighton had: "We had a similar situation in the last game where we had chances and we have to be more ruthless. Every player wants to score and a goal always helps. In some moments we didn't defend well when we conceded the goals. We didn't take care of the throw-ins in some moments of the game. We can improve and we have to focus. We have enough chances here to win the game."

Everton

For the work rate that they showed, Everton deserve the win but I don't know for pure quality. However football has a habit of giving good stories when it needs to. When they left Goodison Park they got that 2-0 win over Southampton and they needed a good start at this new stadium and they got that.

Nottingham Forest

Nuno Espirito Santo's future should become a lot clearer in the week.

Before this match, the Nottingham Forest boss told Sky Sports he does not want to leave the club. He is certain to be asked about his future after this game.

I was sceptical as to how today was going to go for Everton after their dismal performance on Monday night but it couldn't have gone much better.
