There has been a huge amount of rainfall around Chelsea's visit to face Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The pitch will be very slick underfoot and there could be incidents of players slipping.

It's not pleasant out there either but welcome to Manchester in Autumn.

West Ham head coach Graham Potter's position is under significant internal scrutiny with the club now considering managerial alternatives.

Potter, 50, is under growing pressure to keep his job at the London Stadium following a disappointing start to the season that plunged to new depths following Saturday's home defeat by Crystal Palace.

Multiple sources have told BBC Sport that even prior to Saturday's loss - their fourth from five Premier League games - the Hammers had started the process of identifying potential replacements for Potter.

Nuno Espirito Santo, Slaven Bilic, and Gary O'Neil are mong the options.

Sunderland and Leeds both looking good, Burnley hard to beat. Wolves and West Ham struggling. Are we getting back to needing 40 points+ to survive? All the drama will be in the bottom half this season

  6. Sutton's predicton - 'Palmer will make the difference'published at 17:09 BST

Man Utd v Chelsea (17:30 BST)

    Chris Sutton
    BBC football expert

It was fascinating to hear Paul Scholes talk about Manchester United's midfield on the Monday Night Club, saying that the players are not good enough in that central area.

I backed Ruben Amorim last season when he stuck to his system, because he had not had the chance to bring his own players in. But he has had that chance now, and they still can't get results.

United are arguably the biggest club in the world with a wonderful history of winning things, especially in the Premier League.

The onus on them is not just to win every week, but to do it in a certain way - with panache, playing great attacking football.

The system Amorim plays, in his 3-4-3 formation, is OK if you are winning or playing scintillating football but at the moment United are doing neither. They have had a fair bit of possession in some of their games, but what are they doing with it?

I really like Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, but eventually United will need to win games, to give their fans something to cling on to.

As Scholes said, their ambition at the moment is just to get into the top half. I am sorry but Amorim needs to give their supporters a bit more than that.

Where United are fortunate is that they have had a week off since losing the derby, while Chelsea were beaten by Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday.

It is a massive plus for United that they don't have European football. You can't moan about having less games - that should give them the physical advantage here.

Even so, how can you put together a case for United winning this game? I just can't.

Chelsea are not the finished article either, but they are playing some good stuff. They have also got Cole Palmer firing again, and he will make the difference.

    Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Leeds forward Noah Okafor to PLP: "I am really happy for the three points. It was an intense game today. I was happy to score and help the team. It's a dream come true to score in the best league in the world.

"I am really happy about the three points and the team performance. I think the first goal we were unlucky - the first chance they scored from. It was important to keep calm and keep our confidence.

"The atmosphere and feeling in the team is incredible, and also the quality in training is really high. We can improve a lot but of course must take it game by game. We want to go far. We have to set our goals high and see where we are at the end of the season."

  9. 'It's a positive one'published at 17:07 BST

    FT: Burnley 1-1 Nottingham Forest

    Burnley

Burnley attacker Jaidon Anthony, speaking to Premier League Productions: "It's a positive one. They're a top side and had a really good season last year. They've got some unbelievable players and to get a point on the board is positive.

"It's one of the scruffier goals I'll get but just happy it went in. Lyle [Foster] is an unbelievable player and we're on the same wavelength a lot of time. As long as I get in the right areas then they'll go in.

On what Scott Parker said at half-time: "To keep sticking at it. We knew they'd have their moments. The weather was difficult but the boys dug deep and it's a deserved point.

"The way we've performed has been really good and it's been heartbreaking ways to end the game.

"Loving every second being out there and helping the team and hopefully I can get a few more.

On Martin Dubravka: "He's unbelievable. I said it to Neco Williams. He's made some big saves."

  10. 'A little bit disappointed'published at 17:06 BST

    FT: Brighton 2-2 Tottenham

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton forward Yankuba Minteh speaking to Sky Sports: "A little bit disappointed. We came here with the mentality to win and all of a sudden we share the points. It is not bad, we have one point but we need to try to win games at home.

"The team played well first half. We tried to dominate them in the middle, if you do that you can get the space in behind. There was a huge space so I tried to run in there every time. And it was successful.

"When I am in a one v one I am always confident because most of the time, the keeper always thinks you're going to go for the shot, but if you touch it then have a shot, they have nothing."

On him speaking to the doctor in the warm up: "Yes, I had a little bit of pain in my ribs but I wanted to play for the team, with the pain. I wanted to stay on the pitch. I didn't want to go out."

  11. Garnacho primed from the benchpublished at 17:04 BST

Man Utd v Chelsea (17:30 BST)

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport Manchester United reporter at Old Trafford

This week, Marcus Rashford scored twice for Barcelona at Newcastle and Rasmus Hojlund marked his Napoli debut with a goal against Genoa.

Admittedly, Hojlund didn't make much of an impression after Napoli had been reduced to 10 men at Manchester City on Thursday, while Jadon Sancho was also anonymous on his first start for Aston Villa in their EFL Cup defeat at Brentford on Tuesday.

So what will Alejandro Garnacho do if he is called from the bench to face his former club today?

Ruben Amorim told Garnacho to find a new club in the aftermath of Manchester United's Europa League final defeat by Tottenham in May.

It was a long time before the Argentina wide-man eventually got his Chelsea move. It would be painful indeed if he made an impact at his old club's expense at Old Trafford.

Garnacho has just been booed onto the pitch by the home supporters.

Man Utd v Chelsea (17:30 BST)

    Wayne Rooney
Former Man Utd and Everton striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Amorim is under a lot of pressure, of course he is. When it becomes public that there has been a meeting with the owners, there are always going to be questions and he has had to bat them away.

The big question today is how well United are going to play. They are in desperate need of a win. If not the pressure is going to come on again.

Some serious soul searching needs to happen at Wolves if we are to survive. Really poor start that keeps on worsening with every game. Bottom at Christmas last year and we survived. Not sure we have the ability to turn it around this time…

Even the pope couldn't make me change tactics - Amorim

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has probably produced more amazing quotes and soundbites than he has won games in his time at Old Trafford.

In the latest one this week, the Portuguese said "not even the Pope will change" his mind on sticking with his 3-4-2-1 formation.

"This is my job. This is my responsibility. This is my life. So, I will not change that," he said.

He also joked Jim Ratcliffe offered him a new contract this week.

  16. West Ham's miserable daypublished at 16:59 BST

FT: West Ham 1-2 Crystal Palace

    Michael Emons
    BBC Sport at London Stadium

It has been a truly miserable day for West Ham. Fans protests before and during this match at the club's board, with some of the spotlight now also shining on boss Graham Potter.

Palace fans have been chanting "you're getting sacked in the morning" at Potter, with some of the home supporters joining in with the chants.

Potter has now only won six of his 23 league games and picked up 23 points since replacing Julen Lopetegui in January. The Spaniard also collected 23 points from his spell at the London Stadium, but did so in three fewer games.

Ironically, next up for West Ham is a match against former boss David Moyes, with the Hammers travelling to Europe on 29 September.

Some West Ham fans wanted Moyes out following a ninth-placed finish two seasons ago, with that coming one year after he had guided them to their first major trophy in 43 years. That seems a long, long time ago now.

Boos ring out around Molineux as Wolves lose for a fifth time this season.

Wolves started positively but fell apart in the final 15 minutes of the first half.

Credit to Leeds, they took their chances when they needed to, and fully deserve their second win of the campaign.

Given how they ended last season, five defeats from five games is not how Wolves fans expected this season would begin.
